Howdy all you great gardeners.
Here in North Florida the nights are warming up as my job starts 7-12s as of today.
I so enjoy all of your pictures and mussings.
I feel like we are chatting over a worldwide back fence.
So drop on by for some good old lemonade, or maybe some Irish Coffee.
I'm curiouser and curiouser about what dave's April first spoof will be.
The weather has finally warmed up about midnight last night.
Sidney
PS this jewel is out by my front steps.
April Daily Weather, What a beautiful world Spring Brings!
I'm away from this thread for less than 24 hours and look what y'all have done--you have really been "chatting it up". LOL
BP, how long did it take you to answer all those posts? LOL
pepper: I am here and alive and well. We had some mild thunderstorms but they were over in a short while. Clearing up somewhat today but more rain on the way for tomorrow. :o((
Kelli: beautiful Thanksgiving cactus--and I agree--call the holiday what it is!!
Sidney: funny story about the guy who "stole the stink"! Beautiful amaryllis!!
Sharon: as usual you get the best photos of the sunrise and sunset.
Celia: you are in big trouble with me--you never told me your brother has a house on the beach. I'm stowing away in the trunk of your car when you go visit with him in June! LOL
Kiska: from the mountains of Alaska to the beach in Mexico! How wonderfully warm it will be there! Take lots of pictures and have a great time!
Joey: JW is not only cute as he can be but smart, too! Reading, already--LOL
TF: you should open your own petting zoo and charge admission! Ever thought of that? LOL
This is all we saw of the sun yesterday and it has not made an appearance so far today. We are currently at 58º heading for 64º (maybe). edited to say: sorry about the fuzzy photo

Cloudy. Highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s.
Southeast wind 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
Thanks for the new thread,Sugarweed. The flower is a beautiful beginning. Your work schedule makes me cringe~wow, hope it's not for too long a time.
Music2Keep~JW is looking so well and that's so good. The interest he's showing in the book is just wonderful. What a sweetie.
MySharona~loved the title, Molten Gold, and it fit the sky beautifully. We did go to Cancun, November before last.
This trip will be on the western side of Mexico, about 40 miles north of Cabo San Lucas on the Eastern side of Baja Peninsula.
marsue~the sky looked good even if the sun didn't put in much of an appearance.
kwanjin~sounds like a good trip you've planned, as well.
Moose in the driveway; taken at nearly dark so's a bit fuzzy. Taken by SIL.
Kiska
Sorry, Mau! I thought I did!!!
I could so use some Irish coffee...(sigh). I have to go to work in a couple of hours and mustn't indulge now. Maybe tonight. This summer, if you're so inclined, try Bailey shakes.
Beautiful amarylis, Sidney.
Mau, sunrise is wonderful, isn't it?
I love seeing the wildlife come in close. From the safety of teh house, that is.
This is my grandniece playing in the snow/sand 3 days ago on the same beach.
Beautiful series, kwanjin.
Eve, I love those pictures.
;)
Happy April Fool's Day! :-) I missed Dave's pink prank, but judging by the comments, it's probably just as well. LOL
Sidney, that flower is gorgeous! That's an amaryllis? I wonder if they grow here. Does it need full sun? I should go look it up in PlantFiles. Please be careful with your 7/12s. I'm glad you had a wonderful time at the RU. :-)
Kwanjin, your pictures are wonderful! I've heard that Oregon is beautiful. :-) Do you think you'll really move?
Joey, thank you for the JW fix. :-) Mussel eggs, huh? Cool! :-)
Kiska, have a great time in Mexico!
I thought we were expecting thunderstorms this afternoon/evening, but the weather page doesn't say anything about it anymore. I don't know if they just failed to form, or if they moved in another direction. Either way, it's fine with us. :-) The humidity was at 87% this morning, so it feels very nice out there now.

Great Oregon pictures. Snow on the beach? That's a new one for me.

We went to the burn area today. I hope these pictures are a treat for you.
foothill lupine (and mustard) - I don't know what the yellow "daisy" is in the foreground. It isn't in my wildflower book so maybe it escaped from someone's yard.
Joey – Awww – JW is the most handsomest intelligent young man on the planet! Intelligence and looks – GrammyJoey is going to have her hands full! Oh, I don’t know – major guess – B
Marsue – Thanks and glad you came through the storms unharmed. Lovely sunrise even if it didn’t last, God let you get a little peek in!
Kiska – Sounds like y’all are going to have a wonderful time! Take lots of pictures so we can live vicariously through you! How is the glass business going? I have got to see some moose in person!
Kwanjin – I love the picture series! Very nice! Your GN is concentrating very hard on finding the perfect shell! That’s a huge sturgeon (at least to me)! Are you thinking about moving?
Marylyn – No rain here either. The amaryllis will grow in Houston. Mine are late blooming….grrrrr. Here is a link for care http://www.amaryllis.com/pac.htm
Kelli – I always enjoy your hiking pictures! Just wonderful!

Chamber of Commerce day here! Just beautiful!
Marylyn - Just for you Moss Rose :)
drooling..... Thanks for the amaryllis link!
Marylyn: I have amaryllis that bloom well in part shade, just fyi. :)
Kelli: Love all the wildflowers.
Kiska: Have fun on your holiday!
I had a heck of a drive back from Beaufort today. Mostly at 30mph with hail stones bouncing off the car andt the emergency flashers on! I guess we're making up last year's drought in one day. :) Lovely temp and it had been a very nice day....until.....
This is what it looked like as I was heading toward it.
Deb
very windy; glacial silt getting in your mouth windy. The grit is quite fine and also makes it way into eyes. cloudy and in the low 40's. Very unpleasant to be out in. On that note, my GD's 1st grade class walked the 1.7 miles from the ice rink, back to school as a field trip. Hearty group...
kelli~how very pretty the hills are; so many wildflowers and I'd imagine the rain will bring out more.
Marylyn~I see why you love those moss roses; very nice, MySharona.
wow Deb~that's some storm to be heading into.
My first large fused and draped bowl.
Kiska: Wow! That's very nice!
thanks~now w/larger molds, things are becoming more dramatic:))
Another great moose shot, Kiska.
Celia, love that series of photos. I know you have things keeping you where you are but if not, I would sure be packing my bags if I were you!
Kelli: great shots from your hike. No, I did not know that the word "robust" comes from the Latin word for oak tree. I learn something new every day here on DG. :o))
Sharon: love that moss rose! I'm going to check out that amaryllis link because a DGer who lives fairly close to me gave me some last December and also my husband's aunt gave us some, too. They are starting to come up and I need to know what to do with them/for them.
Deb: did your car have dents in it from the hail? That must have been some scary drive!
Our rain has stopped temporarily and the sun came out for a while this afternoon. DH and I were able to spread some bags of red mulch on the front flower beds--trying to "dress them up" a bit. I can still see the sun peeking through the clouds and this is how it looks out my front door right now. Our current temp is 61º.
We cross-posted, kiska. That is a beautiful bowl!
Wow, Janet! That bowl is gorgeous!!!!
Ooo.. really, Deb? I'm gonna have to go amaryllis shopping! :-)
Bone cold today. Reached mid 40s but was breezy. Not as bad as yesterday thankfully but bad enough.
Deb – Geez - That’s some nasty looking weather. Glad you got home safe and no dings on your car. We’ll be getting into that hot afternoon storm arena soon.
Kiska – Beautiful bowl! Wow! The 1st graders are tough!
Marsue – Pretty sky picture! Your lawn/garden is going to be so pretty when all the flowers bloom!
Marylyn – Oh yeah, Amaryllis are very hardy! I love them and they were a favorite of my Mother.
Ric – Great pictures! I’ve never heard of or seen a Corylus avellana L. 'Contorta' Catkins. Neat plant. Your Helleborus is beautiful!
Celia - Looks like a little piece of Paradise to me! Everyone that visits here calls our little island Paradise - they hate to leave! I don't leave very often either! LOL!

Yuck - look at the humidity! :( I'm surprised this picture came out at all, although it is a little blurry. Prissy gets a "wild hair" once in a while and does this sit/spin thing, snorts profusely, then starts running around in circles and chases one of the cats. This is Prissy and Boo! Nothing like free entertainment!
Kelli - Nice article!
Wow, such wonderful pics!
Kelli, your hikes are great , as always, love those hills !
Kiska, seems the snow is melting down finally!
Joey, your"flower" is the sweetest!
Ric, beautiful flowers!
Sharon, I just love Prissy , she's so cute...Boo too!LOL Also, love the sunrise...I could stay forever on the shore and watch the sun ! Moss rose is Portulaca?
Sidney, your amaryllis are awesome!
Marsue, great pics!
Kwanjin, thanks for sharing about your home and family, beautiful house!
Deb, wow, was that a storm coming ?
I'm at work now and I can't post any pics now, but I'll get back to you later, when I get back home tonight. It's 7 p.m. and I'll be staying 2 more hours...ugh!
Adina
Sharona, you had me on the floor laughing with the doggie description! Ours cats do that on occassion.

The sturgeon pic I sent earlier is actually small for this fish. The get up to 12 feet. I've seen a picture of one that was caught in Idaho that is 1300lbs!
Good afternoon! That was a small sturgeon, Celia?? Wow... I didn't know river fish got that big. (Obviously I don't know a lot about fish! LOL)
Kelli, I loved the article! :-)
It is once again supposed to rain this afternoon. We'll see. :-) I just went out to the front yard to take pictures of some of the flowers that are blooming. Here is the Brazos Penstemon.

Still a 70% chance of rain, though it doesn't look like rain yet. It will probably rain after dark. That's the usual modus operendi (pretend that I spelled that correctly).

Adina: Yup. THat's the storm I drove through.
Kelli: Oh no! I must've missed your article. Going to go check.
Marylin: Pretty Purple Penstemon. :)
Kayly: Sorry you're sick, but with the crocus blooming in WI, it can't be all bad!!
