February Daily Weather#2, Spring is just around the corner!

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

Here in Jacksonville the azealeas are blooming and te redbuds are popping.
I believe when Jax Jerry, our river rat, came out of hiding on that tuesday last week that all he could see was fog. Therefore I have concluded for my own, possibly delusional, reasoning that Spring has Sprung!
Now this is just my own prediction and everyone has to judge these thing for thier own particular location.
I appreciate Sharon's starting the last thread and saw it was getting long so here's a brand new one.
I enjoy everyones pictures including Basketball Ballet. EB my daddy was a BB coach. I always said that was why I was so tall. LOL
Please come by often and post your pictures and weather.
I am often in awe of the things I learn just from our weather posters.
So here we are chatting over our cyber fence. Neighbors around the world.

Oh, look, I'm first to the cyber fence (after Sidney, of course)!! LOL Those are gorgeous coleus plants, Sidney!

. . .and speaking of neighbors around the world: Adina, that will be a great color for your house. I hope your contractor can match it.

The sun is still shining here and it is 64º on my back porch. We should have some good weather the next couple of days. ☺☺☺

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

Joey, the wild cucumber produces but it isn't something edible. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/113543/

Rann, how awful your husband was stuck on the plane for 5 extra hours! Being on a plane is misery. It always makes me think of the slave ships of the 1700s. Hardly the same thing, I know, but the level of cramped and crowdedness must be similar.

Adina, the house is looking good!

Thanks, Sidney, for the new thread. Love the coleous and the thought of red bud is very nice, too. It's not up here, but I recall it from California. It was beautiful and grew wild along the canyon road.
Adina~your home is looking very nearly finished; I like the color you've chosen, as well.
marsue~looks like a good day there.
It does looks as if you had a wonderful hike. Love the waterfall.

kiska, I love to see that alpenglow, it is beautiful.
Our snow melted away, I was hoping it would give the daylillies some protection for tomorrow when the arctic front hits us. High wind advisory from 7AM Sunday until 1 AM Monday night. Winds 35-45 MPH with gusts to 50 MPH. Temps in the 18 deg range with wind chills 15 to 18 degrees Below zero. Coldest it has been here yet this winter. We are fortunate as we are not cleaning up tornado damage in our area.

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Oh my... Rann and Seeds especially, I'm sending 'springy' vibes your way.!
Adina - Your house looks like a house!! Almost there. How long til it's ready?
Sydney - I love alllll your coleus.
Kiska - gorgeous alpenglow!

70F was our high today. If only it would stay this way! Azaleas & Narcissus budding and blooming, even an Iris bud here and there. Other stuff greening up. Tonight's low will be upper 30s. ("normal")

Little veronica umbrosa starting to bloom. :)

Ah if it's Coleus it must be Sidney!

41° here and once again it was a very windy day.
Sunny though so the GH's and workroom was nice and toasty.
We are though shooting for single digits by Monday morning... so I suspect more wind.

In fact this just in......

west to northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts between 45 and
50 mph are expected across the advisory area tonight through
sunday afternoon.
wind gusts are forecast to gradually decrease
sunday evening.
winds of this magnitude may bring down tree
limbs. also...shallow rooted trees may also be blown down due to
the wet ground from recent heavy rainfall.

LOL!
GREAT!

We had a nation wide ski festival today.
OK, Siberia, Far East, Urals were up to par. But our folks were skiing on the mixture of water, sand and residual SNOW.
I bet, there's something wrong about all the stuff...

It was a beautiful winters day here in NW PA with single digit temps, winds gusting to 50 mph and plenty of snow. . I found myself caught up in quite a few whiteouts on my 20 mile trip to Meadville this afternoon and had to stop a few times for a break in the wind so I could tell where the road was but had no real problems. There were many, many accidents in the area though.

Now the temp is 5° and Dyson Darkness has settled in. The wind will die down a bit overnight and the highs will be back up in the 20's by Tues. with 30° forecast by next Sunday.

I'm really enjoying everyone's photos........

Here are a couple of winter photos from earlier today. This one is beautiful downtown Springboro.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone.

We have 30º now but earlier it was 50º! Pretty warm considering we had 0º not too long ago. Snow, snow, snow until this week. Looking forward to spring.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

A very unusual year here in Spokane, WA. It is on the Eastern side of the state, so we are used to snow, White Christmas', snowmen, etc. But I have never seen so much snow in my life! Roads closed (including main roads and Interstates), massive school closures, people, even after over 3 weeks are trapped at their homes if they live in the rural areas - emergency help is only by helicopter and snowmobiles.

It is finally starting to thaw and we are expecting rain for most of this week. I am looking forward to not having to find someone to dig out my car (I have a broken arm or I'd do it). I am looking forward to getting out more.

Spring is definitely welcomed here in my part of the world.

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

We had company over the weekend so I didn’t get a chance to check out what everyone has been up to. It was such a beautiful weekend and it pains me to say that I didn’t get a chance to play in the dirt at all. : (

Marsue – Sorry – Phal is short for Phaleanopsis.
Adina - Your house is going to be gorgeous! I know you can’t wait to move in!
Bev – Your cardinal does look like it’s say “brrrr”!
Sideny – My coleus is coming back. I thought one of the freezes we had killed it.
Kelli –It will be nice when there is water in the waterfall again. Great pictures!
Kiska – The alpenglow is beautiful. Must be a nice change to see it in the winter. Sounds like you’re getting a little warmer (not so low in the negative temps).
Deb – Pretty blooms!
Ric – Sounds like a wild howling weekend you had! Those are some strong winds you had!
Kiska- nice statue of Balto – and I love the red scarf
Kwanjin – Welcome! And WOW – nice view from your porch!
E_B – Love the snow pics!
Karrie – Welcome to you as well!
