Applique polyed today and also yesterday, but I don't recall that happening before in our garden.

Jazz, you might be able to talk me out of a Chief Four Fingers. What kind of bargaining chips are you holding? LOL

seeds, I'll check for you too. I can't remember if I have two pots or three. They are awaiting their new home and blooming gorgeous blooms! Maybe I'll just send you Jazz's as I know she is gone and won't see this until later. bwa ha ha ha

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Okay, before Jazz sees this and has a panic attack...I ran out and looked rather than leave you hanging, there is a THIRD pot with a double. :) Dan was very generous when he sent my order!

You have a serious onery streak, woman! Must be why I like ya so much.. ohh.. what could we work out for the Chief... talk to me baby

Charlie,
I wish we could put your seedling with this one of mine. It is a tet?

Here's a five chambered pod on Chief Four Fingers. I've seen four chambered ones before, but not a five.

This is a four chambered pod from a 2007 seedling of Zastrugi crossed with Chief Four Fingers. The "funny" stuff in the middle is a bloom trying to form. I opened it up and found anthers, etc. Amazing. My furry friend is Dan Hansen's cat, Sylvester.

Barracuda Bay started today with a poly.

LaLambchop - since you have access to the experts - tell me, tell me, do - Have you noticed some of the blooms ( particularly new intros) have a stigma that is split into three segments? I have seen this on Schnikel Fritz and also on Grossman's "Red Redneck Rice"?

Wondering... If you pollinate the split stigma - will it make an odd chambered seed pod?

Chapin, SC(Zone 7b)

I've seen lots of those. Dan said they would rarely result in a pod so I don't even bother with them.

Thanks, LaLambchop - nice to know - I sorta thought the same thing myself but realize that when you have the opportunity to work with the experts you are able to pick up on things like this.

Chapin, SC(Zone 7b)

I am a lucky girl that way. ☺

Thanks Sue. CLEARED FOR TAKE-OFF is a future intro. It always blooms with the sepals rolled back all the way.

I am in the process of relocating the garden this summer so will probably not have any new introductions until spring 2009 or fall 2008. Plenty of time to come up with some unique names.

Moosa Pa Loosa is really doing it for me! Wowza!!

You're really going with those polys, Bobby. Great!! I love them.

Not a daylily, but thought I would toss in the Asiatic poly (it is in the main bed that holds lots of daylilies.
