I've been thinking of you, Tomtom. Hoping that your absence from this forum meant you were working on new plantings. Thank you! These are just lovely and my very favorite colors!

By the way, I have lost the ability to access your web site. Do you have another Web address we can view?

Hi,you all,
I do appreciate each of your comments. It's simply encouraging.

Yes, ckk, I built the boxes myself. I place two containers in each box.
I am so fond of the decorative nails used there.

So sorry to tell you,Aquane, that I closed the web site last year.
Thank you so much for having visited the site frequently.

today's photo. Last night 's storm has made the flowers a little messy.

I'm telling myself that there is a long tradition of decorative pottery in Japan and that is why you have so many lovely pots. Or why yours seem so much nicer than what I can afford. There's at least one thread about painting plastic pots! (Something I'll be trying soon.) Anyway, I like the blue pot with scrolls. Your "messy" flowers are so much mmore beautiful than my NOT-flowers now!

A filler? Or just wait until it fills in more. Great start, though. I'm just thinking about how to weatherproof which containers. I'm a long way from annuals!

Hi carrie,
Most of the pots sold in Japan are imported from South East Asian coutries now.
Actually I don't have so many kinds of pot . Because I believe that the pots should be used to highlight the plants there in. So I usually chose the pots simple in shape and color. Sometimes I use such a decorative one though.
looking forward to seeing your painting pots.

Thank you so much ,lilyhostaky, for your kind commet.

Hi Susan、
I couldn't agree with Carrie more.
You've wintered them well. But If the pot were mine, I 'd cut the sweet pototo vines by half and plant as fillers such annuals as Petunia, Lobelia ,Nasturtium etc.

Tomtom: I, too, love the nail heads on your beautiful wooden boxes. What kind of wood did you use? They look very lovingly finished! Oh, and your plants are spectacular, too!~

Painesville, OH(Zone 5b)

So glad you are back! Like everyone else, I LOVE your containers!!! How do you get your plants to have so many blooms? Mine never turn out like that! Tamara

happpy,imapigeon,
So sorry I couldn't post the step-by -step pics of making the box. I only hope that you'd get some ideas of it taking a look at the pics which show the stuffs to make a box.
The only thing you've got to remember,is to choose the right sizes of boards accodrding to the size of planters insides.

I use these boxes as planter covers and change the planters inside every season.
Their effects on the flowers at displaying are simply surprising,I beleive.
Just have a try, will you?

Carrie,
Thank you so much for your kind suggestion. I'll try not in the distant future.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Impigeon,
Many thanks for your comment. I'll not sure what kind of wood it is.
I just bought it at a near -by emporium and think it's nothing special.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

zone5 girl,
I'm so flattered. If there's any, it's certainly the help of Mother Nature. I only make a point of planting the young seedlings at the proper time of the year.
