Where's everyone

The weatherman predicted thunderstorms for us today, but right now it is snowing. Wow, I saw some flakes as big as quarters. It is cold and windy. Hope I don't have to go out today.

Diana................Red Wing Black Birds you say.........OH wow.....sure sign of spring.....They usually arrive here like clock work, March 18th......lets see if they come early this year..........so far, so good.....no rain....no ice ....no snow...........Yet!.....Keeping fingers crossed we will be at the tail end of that storm........we do however have school closings......generator is in barn ready to fire up just in case.....

.Well it is raining here...see some ice on the steps.. 32 F...and thunder and lightening..wowow...this winter we had a snow storm with thunder and lightening..that was cool..hehehe...Wishing for a few more degrees...make the snow go away...Do not have anywhere to go..today so let it give the ground a drink..hahah...

Well, I just got up (i'm not lazy...i work nights, lol). It appears to have snowed quite a bit and there is a glazing of ice on everything. I haven't heard of any schools closing early today (yet)..DH is a teacher in Standish...they are at the point of making up days now.

I'm off work for the next 4 days now...thank GOD!! Weather like this makes me hate my job sometimes. It can increase our workload by 30 times (not percent, times!!).

Think I'll get a fire going to melt the kids when they get home and get dinner going :)

These kind of days make cups of hot cocoa taste better

Hey Dori, just seen the weather, and your getting all the snow, Ken said to bring him a truck load or 2 and you can take all the rain back with you :o) lol

We got about 2 or 3 inches of heavy wet snow this morning and it is drizzling rain now. It's been dark gloomy and very windy all day. Glad I didn't have to go out today except to retrieve the mail.

March..............in like a lion for sure. Let's hope it goes out like a lamb and we've seen the worst of it.

rain is all done here...thank goodness. What a gosh awful mess tho. Supposed to get snow later tonight. And they are mentioning school closings tomorrow morning...such is the life in Michigan!!

Power is still on here and hasn't flickered once....

We lost power at 6:45pm till 2am. My dh went to home deopot and got a generator! The boys had school and were not happy!!!

I couldnt even watch my auctions last night!! I still won the one i wanted the most!

Rained all night here..I feel like I live on your lake Diana...Everything looks dead...but once we get Spring,look out!!!OPPS I see the sun is shining....at least thats what I think it is....

4 inches coming today and 3 more tomorrow....yuck. I did just plant 5 pots of wave petunias and one pot of 'unknowns' - All I had written on the seed container from last year was 'plant more - great!- yellow'

Dori- I saw ONE DL seedling pop up--maybe there is hope after all. Tell me what kind/power of generator you DH ended up getting. I keep bugging DH to get one.

Wow, rain and thunder yesterday and it's like a blizzard here right now. Not a nice day at all. March is sure coming in like a lion.

hemlady, it was just like a blizzard here a minute ago, then calmed down and now it is starting all over again. Last night the weatherman showed a picture and the whole top part of the mitten was covered in white, and the rest was rain. DH made a comment that it was going to miss us again. We live at the bottom of the mitten lol, So I think the weatherman got it wrong last night.

the ground here is almost covered in snow again. Yesterday it rained and rained and there is standing water everywhere and it isn't going to go anywhere either with the ground being frozen. Gonna be interesting to see how this all ends... One thing about Michigan, it sure is unpredictable!

Demstratt, what crazy weather. Half hour ago it was a blizzard and now the sun is shining. It sure is windy, my poor birds want some food and I'm not even dressed yet. lol

Must be going to be one of those crazy weather days, on and off snow, on and off sun. That's Michigan weather for sure.

Dem, already got everything I am gonna get from them for a while and there only a few miles from my house :o) We pass it every time we go into town. DH went to the antique place right across the street from craft 2000 yesterday and bought a few things for his study... I stayed home, wasn't about to get out in that mess yesterday, But I do need to go to the store and get some food in this house today...
Don't know if my grandaughter is coming for the weekend or not. I always try to have things here for the grandkids if they decide to stay... I see blue skies peeking thru :o) for how long who knows and now the sun is popping out to say hello all :o) Hope it stays for a while...

Hehehe everyone..well....In one hour the weather has..changed..a couple of times... from white outs..to cloudy to sun. Blowing like the dickens..though...right now the sun is shining....covered over in snow again..we are on a hill..so the water runs off...Still have Ice..Dem...hehehe....Funny to watch the outside birds..try and get to the feeders...lol..and the Squirrels...on the deck... there tails..are waving so hard..lol...like flags....Think they are looking for a place to get out of the wind......Not going anywhere...today...Stay warm...

Connie ....I used to sell stuff to the people that have the antique store..they used to come to all the estate sales too...I hope your hubby knows they do have lots of repos..so tell him to make sure he knows what hes buying...not what they TELL you their selling him...

We lost our power last night and it is still out. I have a whole house stand by generator that comes on by itself and runs on propane. It's been a Godsend. It is starting to snow again. There is still ice on the trees but it was starting to melt some. My son came by last night to get gas cans to go fill up for his generator and he said the whole town of AuGres is without power. He went to the bank today and they were doing all receipts by hand.

It was a good day to clean and dust. I'm trying to baby proof the house since my little granddaughter is crawling everywhere and getting into everything. :) I'm thinking about what to fix for dinner. My stove is not on the generator so I guess it will have to be a microwave meal. :)

I understand that power is out all over . We are lucky this time. Lincoln, Harrisville, Greenbush,Oscoda are without power. I heard it may be 4 o-clock tomorrow afternoon ,before it will be on. Yes, in the northern area we need to have a generator. We are having company this weekend so I had better go and clean... Aleta

Man, I just got home- our roads are awful....drifting shut and major whiteouts!! I have to be out early tomorrow morning...be thinking of me....I'm already worried about driving in it!!

Dem, I wasn't with him, so I have no clue what these look like other than how he discribed them. He dealt with the son, so he got a break but not like he would have, if he had dealt with the dad. I only buy from the dad, he gives me great discounts on things and yes I know what most things are worth, but dh well he just doesn't know how to open his mouth, but he knows the value of certain things and if some one is trying to still him blind... I am surprised he went with out me, cause I deffinately ain't afraid to ask for this off or that ;-)

They have a roll top there I would love to have, but the dad is on vacation and like I said, I won't deal with the son, because he can't cut the price like dad can...

Sarv you got it, lifting you up in my prayers, also my dad and I will be leaving really early for Indiana Sunday Morning, A close friend of the family past away this morning, and I am really dreading this trip. Please keep us in your prayers too.

Well I'm up, not dressed yet, watching the weather report- everything around here is shut and they are telling you to stay off the roads. Well I HAVE to be to be on the roads!! I am going to be leaving early, driving slowly, and taking my time...and taking my cell phone with me fully charged!!

I need to go out and look at our drive way and see if DH will get his sorry behind out bed to plow it for me. I am a wreck...but gardening prevails!! Off I go!

Hi Everyone............We lost power on Thursday night, booooo....hisssssss.....knew it was coming.....since it was around 9:30 pm almost bed time, we did not break out the generator......thankfully we have two fire places that kept us warm all night.....In the morning DH fired up the generator.....

Sarv...was it you who was asking Dori as to what name generator they bought.....We have a HONDA.....Everything in town of AuGres was shut down....I think the whole town of AuGres lost power.....Ours was finally turned back on at 6pm last night..........what a blessing......you really do not realize how much your dependent on electricity.....

Today, Saturday, its snowing again, and accumulating....I have now lost count as to many inches we have got since this whole storm front moved in on Wednesday.........All I know is its snowing.........and I am about fed up with it all......Hurry up spring.........18 more days.......and counting.....

It's bright and sunny right now...not too cold, either. We'll see how long this lasts. Praying that everyone makes it to where they are going...in one piece!!

DS has baseball tryouts this morning and DD has the Fine Arts Fair at noon...both short trips on good roads.

Made it down to the gardening seminar and it was great!! There were over 500 people there. The person who came the farthest was from Warren Michigan. I drove slow (I am not afraid to drive in snow at all) and took my time..coming home the roads were much better. We drove in and out of snow = only one white out coming home.

But I am absolutely exhausted and ready for the jammies and blanket....
