LOL. Mine does all the time.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

This is a close up of a seed pod .
As you will all know,
The seed pod is made up of 3 chambers.
Each chamber appears to have 7 or 8 seeds.
Making a total of about 24 seeds for my Tropicanna pods .

Thank you MrEli, For that Info.
As I state at the beginning of this thread,
I am but a humble beginner.
I will now go forth and search
for some Real seed pods,
With some real seeds in them. Kell

Aurora, CO(Zone 5b)

It's still a nice pic, and a bunch of us other novices have been further educated. Thanks to both of you.

West Bend, WI(Zone 5b)

if you look up threads started by the user Xeramtheum, he has a lot about seed pods and seed :)

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

How right you are MrEli.
Got these from a neighbour today .

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

cannas are about the only seeds I can grow--somehow I didn't kill them!

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Tropicanna
When I pick them green like this.
Will they Dry out, go Black ,And Grow for me later ?

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Not sure, I've always let mine go ripe on the stem. I know that was not much help-sorry!

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Because I got them from a neighbour.
I had to take what I was given .
So I will try to dry them out.
Thanks for your help Tropicanna .

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Yeah, I'd say just pt them in a dry place and see what happens. Good luck-I throw several in a pot and grow them that way-even though I kill seeds in mass usually, at least one comes up with cannas.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

I have so many ,
I`ll give it a try .
I`ll use one of those flat bed planters .

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

WOW what a surprise,
Those green seeds from yesterday
are already Chocolate Brown today.

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

They will grow fast I'm sure-what season is it in Australia?

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

The middle of summer .
Today is 33 C.
And that`s Hot.
Fry an egg on the car bonnet Hot.

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

33 C, huh, I'd need some type of converter to figure out Fahrenheit-looked cold to me! Car bonett? Now that sounds right cute, too!

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

33C in our lingo is 92 F in your lingo .
Car Bonnet is the Lid thingy over your Cars engine.
I`ll ask my yank friend what yall call it .
When something is Really hot, we say .
It is so hot you can Fry an egg on it . lol

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Car bonnet is what we'd call a "hood"
And we Southerners call people up north Yankees!
We fry eggs on stuff around here all the time! LOL

Thornton, IL

Ha ha Tropicanna - You're a yank.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Sorry , Not trying to be disrespectful ,

So Tropicanna
How do you keep cool on realy hot days ?
I can go for a dip when ever I like.
But it is still stinking hot.

Thornton, IL

me neither, j/k.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

I think I know What you mean though .
Here in Aus. We have States .
I`m from Queensland .
And if you were to call me a Vic.
I would Punch your lights out .
Well Maybe not . Kell ~a boy~

Thornton, IL

Ha ha ha. Glad you knew I was just ribbing. Tropicanna? You're not mad I hope, I lived in NC for three years as a child, also SC, GA and TX. Dad hung the Confederate flag on the living room wall.

This is part of the American culture I am not familiar with.
Besides watching David Crocket 40 years ago. I know nothing.

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Not too much offense taken-LOL!.
As far as escaping the heat-Mist bottles are a godsend! I fantasize about swimming, until I go on a trip either to the beach or mountains.
North Carolina has both-about a four hour rive for me either way.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Tropicanna
I checked on the progress of the green seeds this afternoon ,
Well after 2 days they are as black as the ones that dried out in the pods .
So it appears to me as if it`s exposure to the AIR that dries them out.
Now I will plant 10, So I can keep an eye on them,
And see what my success rate is . Wish Me luck .

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Good Luck, I'm sure you'll be successful.
If I can grow them, anyone can!
Can you send seeds to AUS from US?

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

No you can`t.
There is a total ban .
And that applies to Aus. to America also .
I planted 6 of my New Golden Tropicanna Yesterday.
Pics. will follow.
I was thinking of yall and the cold so much of USA is having .

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

Too bad, I'd send you a few canna seeds just for kicks.

We have snow-very rare anymore. Got about an inch-DD is about ready for another snowball fight!
I think it's cool you say ya'll!

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Very interesting photo, ginger, I always enjoy your photos!
Looks like you've got quite the canna litter there-I can't wait until spring, just getting to order some cannas. Pink sunburst is one--has leaves like the Phaison Tropicanna (which you have above)--but flowers pink.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

Good Link Tropicanna ,
Notised another Kell in there .
I`m told he is a she ?

Aurora, CO(Zone 5b)

Yep, that's pink, no doubt about it. That is vibrant, especially contrasting off those leaves. Kell, gotta love a gardener that is digging dirt with the glass of wine within' reach! LOL Aussies do make some fine wine, and not very expensively too. Good in my book. How many cannas do you think you have going now? Still another 3 1/2 months to put in ground outside, but will start in garage in abt 2.

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

vadap
I don`t want you to get the idea that I am an Alcomomoholocia ,
That Pic. was taken at 4pm . 6 Hrs after opening time .
As you said, we do have some really smashing wines .
We pay around $5 per bottle .
Where as you would pay 3 times more with import duty and all that .
Must confess, I have not tried an American Red or White .
I do enjoy your Woodstock Bourbon though.
Is there a Alcomohol Forum in DG ?
I think it was you who spotted the red by the pool and Water Melon ?
Cheers my good friend and bottoms up . [bottom of glasses]

Clemmons, NC(Zone 7b)

I noticed the wine, too!LOL-The more I read your posts, the more I'd like to visit Australia

Brisvegas, Australia(Zone 12b)

It`s only a hop, skip and a jump to get here.
The Gold Coast is the hub of QLD. tourism.
Ever heard of "The Great Barrier Reef " ?
