Midwest Lilies 4

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Golden Stardust is the largest lily I have ever seen. I'm guessing 10". Only 2 blooms on this stem, but I don't think it could hold more.

I like Leslie Woodriff with the phlox.

Godzilla. Not as bright as I expected.

Another shot of American Heritage.

How tall did Godzilla get? That pic with Leslie Woodriff is awesome!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Godzilla is only about 4 ft. It's not in the best location. I think it will do better next year. Seem to get a slow start this year.

lincolnitess~ I love the Golden Stardust!!! Where did you buy it?

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

I think I got Golden Stardust from Parks, but now that I looked at their photo, it doesn't look a lot like theirs. At least it is the 10" s they said.

Ha, I think we need to have a family reunion! I do have brown hair, however, I have brown eyes, not blue.. ;)

Yes, I collect daylily, hosta, iris, poppy, peony and most everything else that catches my fancy (or so my husband thinks). He put his foot down when I had 7 cats, 2 dogs and 3 horses. Now, I just have 3 cats. :) They have declined through attrition in most cases, the horses went to live with a vet friend of mine. I miss them, but I miss the compost they made even more.

My husband just called and he's bringing home 9 Renaissance Spirea, and two Weeping Norway Spruces... Guess I'm not the only collector. :) heh heh

Ticker ~ I have 4 dogs, 1 cat, 1 fish, and I had a rabbit but he passed away last Nov.
My husband put his foot down too. lol

I've got 3 cats and a dog and would love more if I had the room and money to take care of them. Here is a poppy I took a pic of this AM. Don't you just love the insides of them? I know it's not a lily, but I got the seeds from B&D lilies.

Husbands! Like they think we're really going to pay any attention to what they say (ok, maybe a little bit). :) But seriously, I miss my dog and horses, but they really tied me down. The cats, well, they are cats and like all cats very independent. They are really only house cats when it's raining or cold out, other wise they want to be out lounging in the lawn chairs. :)

They are my constant companions when I'm out gardening. It is a bit unnerving to be weeding and have one decide to pounce on your hand under the leaf of the big hosta you are reaching under. Or worse yet, have you grab one of their tails while weeding. :)

LOL Oops! Poor kitty...

Here's a lily I bought from Van B's ~ Tango Halloween (or something like that)

Two Bengal cats that have to help me with everything I do. They have to check out all the new plants I get and make sure the pots are big enough...if they can fit inside then they are the right size. Open the bags of potting soil to make sure its good. Sometimes they do a little trimmin of the leaves when I'm not watchin. Fine little companions.

Ooooh Moby!! speckles!! I like speckles!! ;)

Though not terribly fond of speckles, I kind of like this one. I'm more partial to big, ol' freckles.

My cat has to check every plant that come into this house. Especially if it comes wrapped in lots of newspaper.

Finally took some pictures tonight. This is American Original, I think. I'm having a hard time IDing these Orienpets.

This was a bonus from someone and was not named. I think I've ID'd it as Shirley. Very pretty and I'm extremely happy with it. If anyone has a better guess, please let me know.

Beautiful lilies beaker. You grow them very well. Are your unknown orienpets from a mix?

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Oh Beaker, they are all so beautiful!! :) I love these threads!

Diann

Columbia Heights, MN(Zone 4a)

Pard, no, they were all purchased as a named variety, but they don't look like anything I bought last year. I'll have to wait til everything has bloomed to see which ones appear to not be there. I did map that area last year, but lost the map. Probably in some isolated cleaning frenzy bout.

About the Regale, they ALL pretty much look like Regale. Not real happy with some of these strains I'm getting. I like your trumpets a lot better, Pard. On the other hand, some of these Orientals are outstanding. This morning there were more blooms on Chambertin and it is absolutely stunning. Seriously considering looking for more of those.

Thanks all for the compliments.

Here's a pic of some of my lilies...don't have the name since I planted them long ago before I became an "official" plant collector!

Sandy, your lilies are lovely and the chair is a fun touch. Here is my first bloom of King Kong. Some of you may remember the pic I posted last fall of the cabbage sized bulb buggycrazy sent. This is it. About 5' this year, but I expect it will get taller next year.
