This is somebody Pixie.... Started with a B... But I have no idea who it is anymore. I've now learned to write the name on the underside of the plant marker.... live and learn.

B... Pixie somebody...

This one is one I got from Gurney's 13 years ago. It was one of those "special" deals, you know 50 bulbs for $10.00. Supposedly assorted colors. They were all orange. :) But they were pretty just the same. :)

And finally, this is a shot of my west perennial bed. The peachy lilies were supposed to be peach pixies, but I guess no one told them they were supposed to be short. I don't mind, they are pretty. I don't know who the brighter red/orange one is, but what he lacks in exoticness he makes up for in enthusiasm. :) My lilies may not be fancy, but they make me smile. Thanks for letting me play.

How about Butter Pixie? Thanks for sharing your garden, you can come play anytime you want!

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Thanks Moby, maybe that's it. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for letting me play, too. ;)

I especially like your first lily, but it's not Tom Pouce. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/48957/index.html For the life of me, I can't put my finger on it but I'll work on the name. :)

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

It's pretty, Ticker, but I don't think it's Tom Pouce either - shouldn t have spots at all. I really like that shot of your perennial bed - pretty!

The Pixie "something" is Buff Pixie. Butter Pixie is a pure yellow.

Seems like all the reds are blooming here. Here's today's blooms.

Commander-In-Chief --Pure red and no spotting. Very pretty.

I also have a tiger blooming that is suppose to be Tiger Rose, but it's a melon yellow with black spots. Anyone know if there is a Melon Tiger? My replacement camera is suppose to be here tomorrow. Hopefully I can get a picture and someone can ID it.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Ticker, beautiful garden. Everything is so healthy and lush looking. Very nice. For some reason my pixies are much taller this year. This is the second year I have had them. They are much taller than I expected, but very pretty. Polly

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Polly, Thank you. These dwarfs haven't been dwarfs since the second year they were in the ground. Oh well, they are still pretty.

Moby, please let me know what you find out? I might have the marker in the wrong spot. :) I've been known to do that before. But it would be interesting to know who it is. :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to look!

Kooger, yeah, after looking up Tom Pounce or is it Pouce? I don't think that is who it is either... Trust me, it's not an exotic lily. I don't buy exotic lilies. :) Most of mine came from Dutch Gardens, Springhill, Gilbert Wild and or Wallyworld or Jack's. And as I've come to realize over the years, you're playing lily roulette when you buy from those sources. But hey, Gilbert Wild has inexpensive collections and is their is a mis-named one in the batch every so often, I can live with that. :)

Beaker, nice lilies! Your Dena Pixie looks like my mystery lily, but if it's expensive, it's not mine. :)

I've got to go to bed.. Talk to you all tomorrow! Thanks for the information! :)

Ticker, I love your Lollipop! I must get some of those.

I know I'm not in the midwest, but Moby gave me permission to post my lilies here. LOL

Beautiful garden Ticker! I really like Menorca's soft colors. Matrix also caught my eye. Good photo of Black Jack mgh. I love it too! Never looks right in my photos.

Thanks, Susan. My new camera is much better at getting the reds than my old one was.

Hey Mendy ~ thanks for sharing. Your Blackjack does look especially good. :)

Anyone have any idea what my yellow spotted one is up there on June 13 @ 12:06?

I just love everyone's lilies. I'm definitely adding to my lilies this fall.

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Wow, so many beautiful lilies... And the best part of this is that lily season has just started for me in Iowa. :) Yippee!!

I, again, went and bought a bunch of lilies from Gilbert Wild. I bought the collections, I got their Asiatic, Oriental and LA collections and then I bought a few that weren't in the collections. Needless to say, I have a ton of lily bulbs to get in the ground.. :)

This is all I have to show . . . too much pink! Where are the others?

10-LA Hybrid - have lots of the pink one/ haven't seen Desert Song yet and have one little yellow one.

10 Oriental Lily MIX
* 3-Acapulco - not sure if I still have
* 3-Muscadet - not sure if I still have.
1-lilium speciosum' rubrum' may have lost this one in the beginning

There is also Goldband in this bed which will come up a little later

I would like to thin out the pink ones and order some other colors that will bloom at the same time to make more variety.

Any suggestions of what I should order?

Thanks,
a

OK, I now have a working camera. I hope I've got all the sizing right. Please let me know if I'm doing something wrong.

I'm calling this House Lilies. They came with the house and I have no idea what they are. For years only one stem bloomed and it was only about 18" tall. When I cleaned out that bed, I found 9 smallish bulbs that I replanted in another area. For two years they bloomed orange at about 20". This year they are about 4' and look red. Note the two-tone petal on the flower I'm holding. Is that weird or what?

This is Butter Pixie about 12" tall. Just tiny.

This is a mystery lily. It should have been Tiger Rose. Anyone know what it is?

And last, just a shot to see how the garden would look frm a distance. I think that is Unique and Ginza waiting to bloom in a week or so. The geranium is Jolly Bee.

KB ~ nothing comes to mind on your lily ~ I'm trying to ID a couple of yellow ones myself, so if I come across something I'll let you know.

TLC ~ Lily Garden has a guide so that you can coordinate lily type, color and bloom time. http://www.thelilygarden.com/pages_general/index_bloom.html

Ticker ~ how tall is your unknown lily? It sure looks a lot like Denia http://www.lilynook.mb.ca/images/Asiatics/Denia.jpg http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/11050/

Thanks, Moby.

Beaker, I had an African Daisy that did that a couple of years ago...

Moby, it's not very tall. It's maybe 18 inches. But it seems to not be very robust. I think I just planted it last fall, but I don't remember. Yes, it does look a lot like Denia... I want to see what the other lilies blooms next to it looks like. I very well may have just stuck the marker in the wrong spot when weeding this year. :) I've been known to do silly stuff like that. ;)

Diann

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Well, gee....... the rest of us folks never do silly things like that! ;)

Columbia Heights, MN(Zone 4a)

I agree, Ticker, it does look like Denia. I didn't like mine the first year. I think they look better now with some maturity.

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Yes, I think you are both right. I should have taken more care to mark my lilies. I do my peony, iris, daylily and hosta, but the lilies, because they are cheapos for the most part, I kind of just let slip. More will be blooming soon and so we'll see what we have when they pop. :) Thanks!

Madonna Lily

I took pictures of a few more new ones, but they turned out awful. I need to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Seems like if I have it on auto, the pictures turn out great, but closeup in bright light and they are all washed out. Closeup in shade looks OK.
