Des Moines Lily Society Sale

Scooterbug -

Don't have the 'Black Dragon strain', but L. leucanthum and L. regale are VERY similiar and cost less (especially L regale) from The Lily Garden.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I was told very firmly at the GA round-up that a true gardener never travels without a shovel....

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Shovel, clippers and plastic bags.

Don't leave home without 'em .
;-P

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

hee hee Hand spade and bucket, at the very least. And a Snakelight to hang around neck for nighttime pilfering...

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Moby, you're a person after my own heart.. I was just thinking they left out the bucket and the flashlight... then I read your reply

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

...a miner's light would be even better, hands free and out of the way!!

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Now there ya go, kooger! that would work just great!! Moby, you bring the bucket, kooger, you bring the miners light, and I will bring the poachin' shovel... I love night maneuvers... :))

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

You know, I'm going to need LOUD alarms & electric fences to keep the lot of you out! LOL maybe I can mobilize the neighbors....

Johnston, IA(Zone 5a)

Well gang, looks like the jig is up, we'll just have to forget our plans to go moonlighting in Cedar Rapids. Wanda's on to us, so we'll just have to do something else......We've been outsmarted I guess.

(wink wink)

Iowaron

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

pssst, ron, think we can bribe the neighbors? ...one of us goes to the front door and poses as a bulb salesman that offers free bulbs with first order... then the rest.... oops, I think she's looking... da da da da..

Johnston, IA(Zone 5a)

Gather 'round me mateys, 'cause I've just learned a bit of information that might prove to be very valuable to our "non-mission" in Cedar Rapids. In the Welcome Mat Forum, Number_1_Angel thread, check out the entry by our pal Linda_Iowa.
'Nuff said. Shhhhh

Hey, lucky me too!! I received a fantastic box from llilyfan today. Inside were:
'Yellow Elf' asiatic (huge, huge bulb!)
'Suncrest' LA hybrid (2 bulbs)
'Kansas' asiatic
'Dancing Eyes' asiatic (2 bulbs)
'Amarillo' asiatic (huge, huge, huge bulb)
'White Elf' asiatic (3 bulbs)
'Black Dragon' trumpet (2 bulbs)

Is that not totally awesome? I was totally thunderstruck - this is "would you like a few extra bulbs I have?" Gardening pals are the greatest!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can not thank you enough. I get choked up when I think of your generosity, Sue! You are a great asset to the gardening community!! And gosh, I almost forgot the pack of notecards with pictures of her flowers! Another THANK-YOU!!!!!!

2 lucky dogs!

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

kooger, that is awesome! congratulations... wanna do some trades in a couple of years? I have some of the best horse poop I can trade... it is so good that I should patent the formula... :)

(Sue) South Central, IA(Zone 5a)

scooterbug, kooger,

I'm so happy the packages arrived safely. There is a great joy in sharing all of our blooming beauties with others, I'm so pleased that you allowed me to share with you.

Today I'm going to try and get all the walnut sized bulbs in the nursery bed so I'll have more to trade next year. It actually looks like the sun might shine today, What a blessing that will be.

Just want everyone to know that Wanda was the inspiration behind those notecards, after receiving hers I just had to pass the tradition along.

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Wow - you guys got some good ones. I just bought Kansas from Canada this fall . Hope we see pics in the PDB next year from you guys!

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

WARNING...........TAKE HEED !

If someone comes to your front door saying they are conducting a
survey on deer ticks and asks you to take your clothes off and dance
around to shake off the ticks, DO NOT DO IT!

IT IS A SCAM; they only want to distract you while others are busy snaggin' your prized bulbs.........

I wish I'd gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid now...

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

ROFL, Scooter!!! That got my day going!

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

Is that who that guy was, scooter? I sent him packing!!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

LOL!
