54° this morning...loving it! Because I know we'll be back up to 90 real soon.
You all watch out for those snakes...we have a rat snake living in the shed. lots of black racers around the garden. Never see any poison snakes thank goodness...not in the garden anyhow. I don't mind them because I hate rats...Florida has lots of rats.

We have blue racers around here too but mainly at my grandma's. One chased my dad on the mower once. Our mower is pretty fast and this snake had no trouble keeping up. My dad finally realized how stupid it was to be running from a snake on a big mower so he whipped it around and started chasing the snake. lol

Today our prairie winds picked up and we had lots of dust hit the air...so strange to see considering the last bit of snow, in town, melted away today.

I just saw a snake on my garden too. Our new doggie Minnie protected us! I don't know what snake it is..any ideas?

adinamiti That snake looks a lot like are Racers and Water snakes ,, Only we are a long way apart , If I was to guess , and I am ,, That snake looks like a large gray Gopher snake , Only don't trust that it is , !!!

Well I am back again , now we have lightning ,thunder , rain,, the whole storm It is going good!!!
I found a snake skin in the chicken coop that was over 5' long a couple weeks ago, during 1 of our warm spells. It's a chicken/egg snake. That's how I know summer is on it's way.
Finally got rain today and it looks like there is more coming. I actually heard the rain coming but I was bound and determined to finish getting the plants I had with me in the ground. I got soaked, the animals watched me from under the barn.

Where did you take those pics Kelli? They are pretty and look familiar.
It was in Malibu Creek State Park. A lot of movies and t.v. shows and such have been filmed there, with MASH being maybe the most famous.
That's what I thought, but I thought there was no way! I've hiked there a jillion times. The water does look low but still beautiful. Old stomping grounds!

Currently 65 and sunny. Very nice day but I'm holed up so my sunburns can have a break from the sun. I got a small sunburn on both arms and one on my head. I'll remember my hat tomorrow that's for sure!! lol
