March in like lamb

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

March signals the start of gardening in Minnesota.
Seeding of annuals & tomatoes in the warm areas of the house or greenhouse.
Soon the snow & ice will disappear.
Gardens will come alive towards the end of the month.
March definitely ends winter!

Windy and hot. They are calling for 83F today and tomorrow. This is unnecessary, IMO.

They're calling for 85F today. I'd be glad to give 20 to 30 degrees of that with anyone. I want a winter with some rain and days in the 50s before we head into summer.

I hate to post photos of so much snow after all those colorful photos up there, (like pepper's Black-Capped Chickadees and Cardinals and the fuchsia gooseberry).
Now this is some beautiful weather right here! - Actually, that was a few days ago but the snow is still here, 95% of it anyway! The last photo is after I shoveled some and shook the snow off of everything! -
This weather is kinda tolerable though compared to what upper Midwest like Minnesota and what Bernie probably deals with. Ours was just so scenic because it was just freezing or a little above and the wet snow stuck to EVERYTHING! Pepper has probably had twice as much snow a little further South and East of Kansas City, Mo.

Low to mid 30s today and sunny. Took advantage of the weather to go sledding in the yard with my nephew. It lasted all day and he plum wore me out. lol. A friend and her daughter joined us this afternoon. We both pushed the kids to get them going but I always fell into the snow so I got pretty wet. At one point I had snow up under my coat and hoodie and had to shake it out. lol. Lots of fun but the kids are gone now so I'm kicking back under a cover. Wet jeans and thermals don't feel good when they get cold!! lol

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

Pepper, I remember sledding with my Grandsons - I froze, but they were sweating! LOL

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

If I had put my bibs on I would have been sweating but as it was I was comforable. I was up and down the hill sledding at times myself and then falling all the time too. Plus walking in 2 feet of snow up and down the hill is a good workout too!! LOL

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

20% chance of rain today, which is about the same as 0%, though it is cloudy.

Mountain View, HI

Wonderful Hawaii weather has returned. Ground is drying up, can finally get some gardening done
Light tradewind breezes, blue sky, light fluffy white clouds and temps mid 70's. Its been a wet cool winter and the plants are reacting like its spring.
Hey Kelli, that Fuchsia Flowering Gooseberry is neat. We had gooseberries back in England and I grow fuchsias here in Hawaii but combining the two, wow. We are zone 10-11 here on the Big Island so should grow here. Where can I get one. Next stop ebay.

L.A. (Canoga Park), CA(Zone 10a)

I suppose you could get fuchsia-flowering gooseberry from a place dealing in California native plants. Offhand I don't know of a place that does mail order but then I've never looked, either.

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

Here's a place that lists them:

Currently 32 degrees and snow , temperature falling now 34 all day with snow, wet heavy rainy snow!!,,lol
Snow totals are expected to be about 7 inches where I am.

I am sure looking forward to the upper 50's and such this weekend..!!! my oh my ,,(sigh)

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Bitterly cold outside thanks to the wind coming out of the north today. Temps were in the mid 30s which would have been decent on a nonwindy day but windchills were in the teens. Snow is slowly melting too!! Should be mostly gone by weekend.

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

Beautiful morning. 15º & sun shining off all the new snow.

suburban K.C., MO(Zone 6a)

Oh yes, lots of melting going on around here soon! It will be nice to be able to park my car on the street again, where lately big piles of snow are put by snowplows!

So is melting, melting, melting here. That rain over the last 3 days has helped a lot.

44º and mostly cloudy.

Got a micro trace of rain this morning

Nice and warm today with temps in the high 40s and sunshine!! Lots of melting going on now. By the time the weekend is over with most of the snow should be gone I think.
