Meredith.... Planted my first Kniphofia this year, 'Flaminco'. Hop to see how it turns out as is a phenominal flower (IMHO). Wild rabbits and Lober grasshoppers are finally letting them leaf now that there are other tings to eat.

Poppies are ephemeral but so is everything about a garden. I think they are worth it.

NoID daylily that came with the house. I think they look like bird beaks when they're opening, as if there's a nest of enormous hatchlings waiting to be fed.
My Cappuccinos have really multiplied this year!
That's the great thing about having them 'in' that Caryopteris shrub, the branches grow over the plain green lily foliage but it's loose enough to give them enough light and I get blue flowers in late summer
Delphinium - Sky Blue/White Bee. . . First few blooms.
Salvia Eveline. . . Beginning of rebloom after cutting all the way back.
Baby Astilbe Red Fanal. . . just planted & actually blooming before all my other Astilbes.
Love those stately vertical blooms from the Lupine, to the Delphi, to the Astilble.
My one and only 'Stargazer' lily.
Above pix was taken early this morning. Nearly high noon, she opens up with a shout of beauty.
