If everyone would list the post where their lists are, it would save a lot of re-doing. Maybe deejay could post them all on the first post here, if that isn't too much work for her. I wouldn't mind going down and finding the link to their lists like this. Just a suggestion. Below is my list.

Any shipping order is OK by me. If it is more convenient to put a long hop after me, I don't mind the few dollars difference in postage.

HAVE:

-----------------------------
self-collected :

- SLUG RESISTANT White Alyssum from my garden, from a "flower mix".
Profusely re-seeding & profusely flowering all summer and fall in Zone 8.
Mostly prostrate, 9-14" tall. Spreads out 12-18" from its roots in the cracks between a sidewalk and a raised bed.
Variety unknown but looks like this:
- - Sweet Alyssum, Sweet Alison, Seaside Lobularia,
- - Lobularia maritima 'Snow Crystals'
- - http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/65150/

- Morning Glory Star of Yelta (vine needs trellis or fence)
- Convolulus ("Morning Glory", blue and yellow, more bush than vine)
- random-pollinated white-stem Bok Choy
- very random-pollinated 2009 petunia mix, that came out pretty well this year with more blue-purple than pink or white.
- a LOT of very mild, huge California (Anaheim?) chili pepper seeds
- a LOT of very hot, small, Thai or Japanese chili pepper seeds

(The chili seeds came from whole peppers from a fruit stand, late summer 2010. They may be hybrid F2. They have unknown germination rates, but they were not totally dry when I bought them, so they were never dried by overheating.)

----------------------------
commercial seed from Hazzard's 2010

Zinnia elegans "Benary Giant" - Crimson 4-5" giant dahlia-shaped blooms
Zinnia elegans "Benary Giant" - Orange 4-5" giant dahlia-shaped blooms
Zinnia elegans "Benary Giant" - Deep Red 4-5" giant dahlia flowered (smaller qty)

Zinnia "Oklahoma" Scarlet 1½" double and semi double blooms, produces all summer, resists mildew
Zinnia "Oklahoma" Golden Yellow 1½" double and semi double blooms, produces all summer, resists mildew

Zinnia elegans "Gem Orange" 1½" beehive shape new from Hazzards (lots)
Zinnia elegans "Lilliput Choice" 1½" beehive shape, double, pink, red, white, yellow, orange & coral (lots)

Zinnia Cut & Come Again Mix 3" flat petal, dome shape double pumila type, pink, red, white & yellow/orange (lots)

Salvia transylvanica "Blue Spires" 18-24" tall, 18-24" spacing. Perennial to Zone 4. Blue to Blue-Violet. (small qty)
Salvia x superba "Violet Queen" 6-12" tall space 24-36". Aromatic Perennial to Zone 7. violet,
Salvia nemerosasylvestris "Amethyst Blue" 18" tall. Perennial to Zone 5. bluish pink or pale amythest

Swan River Daisy = Brachyscome iberidifolia (Asteraceae Family)
- Brachycome Splendor Mix - Blue & White & Purple/Violet/Lavender
- Annual - sow 5 seeds per cell indoors before last frost
- "from seed to sales in 12 weeks"
- 12-18" tall, 6-9" spacing

----------------------------
Received in trades, may be able to share some of these pkts since I won't have room to start them all this year:

- Salvia coccinea Scarlet Sage - - Full Sun (part shade?) zone 8-10 Fall 2010 DG RR
- Salvia strata ? farinacea? Annual 18-24" tall
- Salvia farinacea "Victoria Blue" - - ?P as A? PNW? reseeds P z9 &10 sometimes zone 8
- Salvia leucantha Mexican Bush Sage - - purple-vilolet or near-white TP full sun
- Salvia azurea "Grandiflora" - - Medium Blue P herbaceous Drought Tolerant, full sun
- Salvia nemorosa "Sensation Rose" P to z9b full sun, part sh
- Salvia sylvestris "Est Friesland"

- more tomato varieties than I have room to plant. (A generous swap from Heather.) list on request
- more mild & hot chili pepper varieties than I have room to plant (Heather) list on request

WANT:
- - trailing Lobelia / Lobelia erinus, blue or blue/violet or sapphire

- - Creeping Thyme / Mother of Thyme / Wild Thyme / Thymus serpyllum

Nothing that is likely to lose viability in 1 year. Through many people's generosity, I suddenly have more varieties than I can plant this year, and just learned that Salvia and Delphiniums have short viability lifetimes.

Easy to start without heating mats. SLUG-RESISTANT!
Rain-tolerant. Tolerant of partial shade to shade. Non-tropical (Zone 8).
Easy to WS for a newbie. Or, started outdoors after last frost.
Mostly perennials or re-seeding in Zone 8a, mostly white. No big bushes. Easy to grow!

Corey

Mary,

Sure thing. I know I promised some to SOMEONE in this group, but it's too late at night to recall who. My notes at work remember.

Also, I can put a multi-dose bag of white Alyssum into the second round of the RR, as well as refreshing the bags of Zinnias. I don't have much variety to offer, so I'll go with quantity.

Oh yes! I also have Swan River Daisy Mix, Brachyscome something

Corey

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Mary, I see that you are sending me the petunia seeds I requested. Would it be too much trouble for you to include the red wave petunia seeds and mystic pink wave petunia seeds in the package with the other petunia seeds?

Thanks ever so much. Maybe I won't have to buy so many seeds or plants for the 9 hanging baskets we have hanging on our porch and thru the yard.

Maxine

Morrisville, PA(Zone 6b)

Maxine, recorded your petunia request.

Corey, may I have a small portion of Swan River Daisy Mix, Brachyscome?

Jennifer

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Thanks Corey.

I just ordered some more [late] tomato seeds from Baker Creek Heirloom seeds.
Would you like a few?
Can let you know ripe dates if that helps?

Maxine

Everett, WA(Zone 8a)

Maxine, my eyes were bigger than my beds during the last few swaps I participated in! And seeds that need coddling (tomatoes or peppers) have moved to "last on my list" for this year.

So I need to say "no" to more T&P this year. But thanks! For next year and 2013, though, I have plans and high hopes ...

After I get a cold frame built, heating pad, thermostat and more indoor lights, my ambition for tomatoes and peppers will go back up. (I wish I knew why 4-foot shop lights went from $8-10 to $30-40! I wnat a 4-tube T4 set, maybe overdriven! But I'm too cheap.)

I just splurged on a cubic yard of sand, and a yard of fine pine bark. Made enoguh WELL-draining soil for a 2'x16'x8" rasied bed. My neighbor let me put it on her side of our shared sidewalk! First, my pot-bound lavatera go there to make a screen, and then several kinds of Salvia will go in-between the Lavatera.

I also plan to extend it from 16 feet to 20-30, but need another trunkfull or two of 8x16" pavers to make more walls.

Corey

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Corey, are you able to work in you yard now?
Mine is covered with around 15" of that white stuff yet.
Sounds very good what you are planning. I have always wanted to try a raised bed for veggies, maybe when I get a little older and its harder to bend over?

Maxine

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

deejay ..... could I get a package of each of your hollyhocks, please?

Athens, PA

Corey -

I like the idea of putting the salvias with the lavatera. I'll be they compliment each other beautifully. I would love to see pictures of the two plants together.

I have May Night Salvia with Lady's Mantel. I like the way the purple of the salvia plays off the chartreuse of the Lady's Mantel.

GM ALL not Sure what happen to the last post i typed this morning :(

crit i have your seeds ready for you :) now i'm off to plant a few seeds .
hope you easterners are staying in & staying warm.
susie

Everett, WA(Zone 8a)

Maxine,

We had several warm days in a row and my "dirtpile" thawed enough to work it. After adding more compost and some kind of soil innoculants, it may graduate from "dirt" to "soil" some day!

My neighbors seems to have a more gravelly mix underfoot than I do, so I hope that putting 8" of soil on top of that will be enough for tough Lavatera and Salvia to find root space in.

Last night, 2" of snow came down and did not melt right away. This excited many locals who don't see much snow every year. This morning we got more-typical cold drizzle on top of it, so we have snow, slush and packed slush. Eveyone is cautioning each other to "Be careful" and "be safe". Our company solemly put out a memo warning people that snow and frozen water (called "ice") is slippery to wlak on, and advised us to wear special non-slip footwear and "be safe".

Gag. "Wimp World". Oh, well. At least I didn't have to shovel two feet of snow and chip inches of real ice off my car!

For something REALLY scary, I suggest my own face 30 seconds after starting to wake up, hair standing straight on end from going to bed right after a shower, reflected in the bathroom mirror. YOW! That woke me right up. "Who IS that Morning-of-the-Living-Dead zombie with the corn-sheaf hairdo?!?

So I put on my uber-nerd thick black framed glasses copied from Frank Langella in "The Ninth Gate" and took my own picture.

No one should ever, ever, EVER see me before coffee.

Corey

Everett, WA(Zone 8a)

Carolyn,

Thanks for the confirmation! I have approximately zero artistic sense and wasn't sure whether pink-and-blue/violet would be pretty or nauseous. Your photo says "pretty"!

I'm going to put a variety of blues, violets and whites into the new 2'x16'x8" raised bed along with pink Lavatera thuringacea to see which color combos do work. I'm guessing that pink-and-scarlet is not a good combo. (The Lava seems to be Rosa. They were allegedly "Barnsley" from Hirt's Nursery but don't look like "Barnsley".)

Maybe Salvia lyrata "Purple Knockout" with dark purple foliage.
Maybe "Husker's Red" Penstemon, with dark reddish foliage and white flowers?

The original "garden planning" line of thought was more like this, than any aesthetic consideration:

1. I need to get these 6-8 Lavatera out of pots and into soil, but have no room. (And two Lavas STOLE 90% of my best bed by sprawling!)

2. My neighbor let me put them on her side of the sidewalk: YAYY!

3. I also need lots more room for all the Salvia kind people traded to me, but have no unused beds.

4. Lavatera needs well drained soil.
Salvia needs well-drained soil.
Neither should be over-watered or over-fertilized.
Neither needs deep rich soil.
Both want full sun, and this new bed is at least as sunny as any part of my yard.

5. Hmmmm.

6. Both in the same bed? I guess so.

My first idea was to try to plant just ONE variety of Salvia between each Lavatera.

If WS seed-starting works well, I might have so many that I need to temporarily park TWO varieties of salvia between each Lavatera! I guess different species of Lava don't cross-polinate, but it just seems "right" not to have them mixed up with each other. What do people think?

I do have 2 more, smaller, spaces that I could turn into raised beds over the next few months, if I have time, energy and budget for compost, sand, mulch and paving stones for the walls. Rather shady and surrounded by far too many bush and tree roots, but they are "square feet" without anything growing now. (One will become my "Goddess Garden", perhaps with Salvia coccinea 'Coral Nymph'.)

I figure that if I try enough kinds of Salvia in both, I'll find SOME varieties that do well enough there. And if not, I'll keep moving the Salvia around and plant something else there, like mint or thyme or Alyssum.

And I'll probably start by laying down 2-3 thicknesses of corrugated cardboard laid down to give the Salvia a chance to establish themselves before they have to fight off the bush and tree roots. I would use heavy lanscaping plastic to keep roots away, but I HATE doing that. The main competition is from Azeleas, Rhododendrons and a Pine tree. The yew bushes that are near there now might be fearsome, but as time is available, I uproot them without pity or much remorse.

Certainly I want to keep multiple varieties of the same salvia species separate so I can save seed from each separately without blurring colors. I have more than one kind of:
- S. farinacea
- S. superba
- S. coccinea and maybe
- S. viridis.

If ALL of those thrive, I will have a huge collection! Unfortunately, it sounds as if Salvia seed will "expire" in one year, so I won't be able to try again next year. I plan to do some WS and some summer sowing of each species to improve my chances.

The best thing of all is that Salvia is said to be SLUG RESISTANT! Hah! Take THAT, ravening Slug Army! Nah-nah-nye-naah-naah!

I see that Lavatera "should" be spaced out by 4 to 6 feet. I was thinking of crowding them down to 3' spacing, and then maybe pruning bottom branches to give the Salvia room. Even when sprawled out in their first year, two of them did not sprawl much more than 3-4 feet each. And a neighbor's Lavatera, in AWFULL heavy soil, was only 2.5 - 3 feet in diameter.
