Love that weird Saz! most unusual!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Jon, I love the Sazanami's and the weird Saz's were all pretty.

Tokyo, Japan(Zone 10a)

I had no luck with Sazanami's, three seedlings upped n died! I have 2 sds left to try again next year.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Yup! That Sazanami is a really nice cultivar! I fell in love with it last year. I wonder if anyone grew out the cross pollinated seeds I shared. I guess that is another one that I might want to grow over winter. My list is getting longer! LOL!

I know many are probably tired of my Flying Saucer blooms, but I still am enjoying them! This is a cluster of three today. Still growing in that little styrofoam cup! LOL LOL LOL How does a plant survive growing like that and still bloom, too???

Here are the same blooms at the end of the day. Blooms aren't wilting as fast because of the cooler temps were are getting now. :-)

Here is some of the light pink hige blooms. It's loaded with buds now. :-)

And last is three blooms on the blue speckles clone. But today because of the cooler morning temps, the blooms were purple instead of blue! Pretty cool, huh? :-D

Isn't it strange how temps change bloom color.. I know no of no other plant that shares this phenomenon.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Hmmm ... come to think of it ... I don't know of any other either, Jon! I am sure there is, I've just never grown it! LOL LOL LOL

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Becky those are so pretty. I especially like your light pink hige
I don't remember if you sent me the crossed Saz's last yr. If you did, I will grow a couple this coming season. Your Saz was beautiful last yr.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Those bloom photos are stunning.. I really like the Saz and those pink higes.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Still waiting on some of the vines to finish making sds.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Ronnie, that is drop dead Gorgeous! Mine didn't produce, as it was sprayed with weed killer by the neighbor.. ;(

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Thanks Jackie, Debra, and Ronnie!

Ronnie - Very pretty bloom! Looks like some recessive genes kicked in on that vine.

Here are some more hige blooms from this morning.

Love how this photo turned out. These are more of the pompom shape than typical hige blooms. So weird, yet I like how they look!

Here you can see a whole lot more buds that will eventually bloom! No seeds though. Ha! And I thought I. purpureas were invasive here! LOL LOL LOL

I'm getting just a few seeds but not as many as i had hoped for and I'm gonna have to cut them off to finish up in the house in a glass of water.

Thanks Becky., I've gathered several sd pods from my hige. The
