we are taking heaps of pet pics everyday.show them off here,we love them..,.,.this is bella, she makes a cute picture, even when the bottom teeth are exposed.she belongs to my next door neighbor and if you remember, she got annoyed at me taking pictures of fish and forced herself in front of the camera
PET GALLERY 5-thanks to us,these pets thrive[cut the jive]
too cute - all of them :)
Love Bella's smile, she has a pretty face & the way her ears hang reminds me of Falcor the luckdragon in The Never Ending Story...
that was a great film and a great song as well,..i used to pester the dj at the disco in the early 80s to play neverending story,as soon as he put it on,everyone would leave the floor.,.,.,leave me up there in my flared white pants, chains and hairy chest, lumo lights that showed how clean your white shirt was.,,,those were the days
Not quite a pet, but we've seen a few of these fig birds in the garden lately eating the Alex palm berries.
Ohh BTW we came from here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1075481/

bit of trivia - the author of the NeverEnding Story apparently hated the way Falcor appeared in the movie.
He didn't intend for him to be so dog like.
I loved the movie & song as well...
not something I would have wanted to hear at a night club tho ;)
So Teresa, now we know that it wasn't John Travolta striking that pose, it was you know who.....
Never Ending Story was a good movie,
The cats have the right idea Anthony, mine are doing the same as I write.
That's a pretty frame for Charley, Charleen.
Nelson and Boris look so innocent Leisa, Are they? :)
Nelson and Boris are fabulous felions. (I know I didn't spell it right)
I love all the pictures.
Bella is so cute too. Seacharger, what are yur kitties names. Love the calico.
thought since this bronze sculpture depicts a famous donkey it might be appropriate here...
this is presented by the RNZR&SA - Royal New Zealand Returned & Services Association - to the ANZAC of the Year.
this was the inaugural year for the award & the presentation was held at the RSA where I work.
To the Aussies it will always be Simpson & his donkey, but after Simpson's death a New Zealander, Henderson carried on his work with Murphy the donkey...

ive just put 'lily ' back on the floor, she can only handle so many cuddles in front of the computer.,.today was a big day, apart from everything else,i took cocky out to see his mother in the aged care home,...,you think to yourself,am i doing the right thing? all went well.Immediately when she wheeled outside,he changed to his mothers child.she stayed 25 mins without oxygen to see cocky.,,.,..the separation was very dramatic, but that is to be expected,.the other people and nurses in the home loved him and couldnt believe it was him talking,I took him back home, absolutely worn out,we spent an hour in the garden, put him to bed ,and i think he had a sigh of relief ,to finally go to sleep.
Anthony. what can I say...when you see the joy on your friend's face you know that it's the right thing.
Even if the separation is painful, so long as she isn't too upset..the previous 25 mins are gold and as I said before, the residents will know who Cocky belongs too and that will help in making new friends for her.
Having been responsible for both my parents and an elderly couple going into the best care places that I could find and I don't mean the most expensive.....I know how important it is to have something that makes you special in front of the other residents....a pet that is a regular visitor will do it every time.
Good on you Anthony.....I hope that her family make the same effort as you.
hi everyone, bad news, cockys mum died on the 26th of april,.,.Although,we'd talked about and planned this day,it still tore my heart out.i had walked into her house 2000 times, but the next morning was so hard.i dedicate this post to 'FAY ILES'shown in this picture after winning 'best blossom stem',claremont show 2008.
Anthony, so Sorry for your great Loss. The house will never feel the same. My deepest sympathy to you and Family. Charley sends lots of Loving nuzzles your way.
Blessing my Friend.
Sincere condolences in your loss Anthony...treasure the memories.
last photo taken of my baby.
Chita went to the vet later that day & we let her go to the Bridge.
She could have struggled on a bit longer, she still enjoyed her food & a stagger around the garden but was having more moments where she couldn't get up and more falls...
I didn't want to see her get to the stage where it would have been cruel to keep her going.
dalfyre,i have a pack of photos, titled,'gizmo's last day'.,her ailment was liver cancer. If we could have kept her going ,we would have, but all the steroids and love, just wouldnt do it,...you did the right thing.,.anthony
charleen,i can actually get cocky to whisper to me,..,ive had to explain the events of last week to him in whispers,..,.we whisper for a little while and then the excitement gets too much for him and he goes 'ballistically silly'.,,.i wouldnt swap him for the world,..anthony
You hang onto cocky, he is going to mean even more to you.
Have to get a picture of you two whispering to each other. Bet it is cute.
Charleen
thanks Anthony,I have never had to make this awful choice for any of my pets before.
Chita was losing weight for no apparent reason & getting so frail.
I think she could have hung on longer but winter is coming, frosty deck to slip on, colder nights with no fat layer to keep her warm...
I miss her but would not have her get to the stage of being helpless & in pain beofre I let go.
I have been lucky - my father died of lung cancer 4 months ago - the chemo didn't make him ill, radiation only gave him temporary discomfort & at the end in teh hospice he had enough morphine to give him a peaceful passing.
Chita went quickly & painlessly - I think she was so weak that the first half of the shot did the trick she slipped away before we eased her to the floor.
She always like to run ahead of me...
and to escape & go exploring - she was a wicked witch with an independant streak.
That's beautiful!!! Sometimes you have to be that way. so sad about having to put your girl down but she is waiting for you at the bridge.
Best of everything to you all.
Anthony - I am so sorry for your loss of your good friend, Fay. I know she must have been so happy that Cocky has you to love and care for him. What a relief that must be.
Theresa - I am also very sorry that you had to let your Chita go. It is such a personal loss even when you know it is a true act of love and sacrifice for the beloved pet who looks to you for well-being. You both have my sincerest sympathy.Louise
thanks for the kind words everyone and you betcha,he only gets 'the best' from here.we all have to go and pick a rose garden site at the cemetary gardens, and now he has wheels, cocky will be going too,.,.theres lots of places we can go,now i know he doesnt mind'cruisin in the ute'...'could you imagine him ,perched at the door of the flower shows, greeting everyone'? i could!,..,.,.., anthony
Sounds like you already have plan for cocky.
When I worked at Myer Lonsdale st, a lady came in once a week with a cocky sitting on the pram that she was pushing.
Very unusual sight in that store, but it was a great ice breaker for her, everyone knew her and spoke to her bird..
Cocky will become a legend in his own lifetime, if you have anything to do with it Anthony...
Charleen, do Donkeys and Mules dig dust holes and roll in them like horses do?....I suppose they would, at the moment Mick has almost dug a dam ....he loves it...
My poor Matilda scratched both of her eyes on the weekend.....luckily only surface scratches....she snuffles in the bushes and having no snout to speak of, her eyes are unprotected....this was the 3rd trip to the vet for eye probs...this photo was taken on Monday, today she's fine.
dianne,we have' frequent shopper points at the vet'[joke].im lucky,we have a bird specialist at the vet.he is a young,''decent'' man.The bills are scary!!
May have to get her some Goggles to wear outside. I'm sure the bill was terrible. My mule and doneys love to roll in the dust, then when it rains they look like mudballs, I saw the donkey gelding shake his head the other day after rolling, My gosh, there was a dust cloud around him. They also dig out in the pasture I have to spots that looks like they have dung out the soil. I'll have to go check and take a pic for you.
Matilda is very pretty.
Look at this Brown Thrush, doesn't he-she look mean, I guess that is what happens when you get a grub worm that big!!!
Great thrush shot, Charleen!
thank You I have a time getting birds. But here is a pair that are my little garden buddies.
See, the little black hen? I saved her from the longears, they were trying to stomp her.I don't see a chicken as a problem but they do. Anyhow,I don't know how she made it but she did. there is a hoof print on her back where one of them got her. Probably A.T. Onery little donkey. But when I go out to pull weeds she runs to me and looks for bugs when I'm pulling weeds. She is so cute. I named her Abby.
Very cool that she made it, Charlene! That colorful one on the left is a real beauty! Is his name Fancy Pants? LOL
Duckie, they are named after my favorite people on NCIS. Silver sebrite is thee breed. Isn't he beautiful. they got thrown over the fence , all roosters. 6. That is only one Hawks hasn't got. Never had a name til I got Abby. He doesn't look like a Gibbs. He loves his Abby.
