sheri " CELOSIA" that is an annual right ??? I don't think anyone will want to plant an annual this late in the season . your bread sound 's tasty . been awhile since i have made any now i just buy it from the restrant :)


birdie : molly had 10 new babies just sold 4 of them today but had to move the peacock eggs over under Daisy
it was funny when i put then into the box she rolled them under her & frankie when in chased her off the nest then he recounted the eggs & moved each one very gentle :) then let daisy come back to lay .

dolly had 14 eggs before she got killed saturday night & so i put the eggs in for polly to sit on & gave a few to daisy also will be interresting if any hatch :)

What happened to dolly, Susie? Sorry. Hope all is going well for everyone this summer. Nice flower gardens? Mine are all doing great. Here is one of my new daylilies. I got it on a trade from a D.G.. It is so pretty. It was hybredized by an 80 year lod gentleman. My other one is blooming also. Will take a photo of it also. I just love this one.Ronna

as for dolly she had a nest down by my back deck here & I do not know if a coon or what might have gotten her
but i have been just sick over it.
here is my bela lugosi it just keeps on blooming & blooming

susie, I lost my favorite little bantam broody hen, and all 4 peachicks she hatched to a coon this week, I also am just sick about it.

oh my I know the heart ache well we are getting quit a rain tonight just got home from the ER , but had to show you what Daisy Hatched out today :) she was so proud & did not want me to have her but I had to .

Someone told me that ducks can clean a pond of weeds and cattails. Is that right? If so, then I need to score a couple ducks. :) I have a 300' x 70' pond and need to get rid of some of the weeds growing into the water. Let me know if you think this is true or not.

I Have Over 160 New irises comming in this month of aug & I have to be ready for them so have been out side
working sun up to sun down about when the weather is cool like this .
i will share before , during & finished garden as i go today i have to get it tilled up .

I also have been potting up plants for the fall swap as i go .

BIRDIE : I hear you was in the Hospital for Test I Sure hope all is well . & Yes I would love to get a couple more
Eggs .

RONNA : I Keep Hoping to hear that the wedding date has been changed to a new date & You can make it after all

Well Susie no such luck!!! The wedding is the 3rd. So when I get the invite we will be going to the wedding. I can not believe the date... I am so dissappointed that I will have to miss the swap. But both of my daughters are in this wedding and I really want to see them in the wedding. Sorry. I know I will miss a great time and friends. So swap some plants for me. I do not need anything really. Just wanted to get together with you all. We just recentley had a shower for my daughter that was at b-fast with us. I made this tree photo display. It was really cute and everyone enjoyed it very much! Ronna

Hi Susie, I've got the swap date on my calendar... This fall looks bad for work (what else is new) so hopefully I'll have time to pot some goodies up. I wished I could have made it for breakfast with you, Linda and Liz, Linda told me about it, said they had a nice time. I had family in town that day :-( I'd still love to come out for a garden tour!!! I have some lilies from last year's swap that I can't remember the names... Maybe I'll post them up here and see if you can help ID... I have a pretty nice area cleared out to plan this weekend, can't wait!!!!! I haven't been able to get out into the garden for a few weeks... Except to keep up with my green beans. Yum. Have a great weekend!

Hi guys, well as you know i was released from the hospital this week, feeling much better/ testing showed I did not have another stroke after all, I'm very lucky.
However ended up back in the E.R. with my mom this morning. She was diagnosed with early stages of alzheimer's . She'll be moving in with my husband and I, so needless to say
we're all in for a life style change. Its been a difficult day.
Susie I thought it to late to call you back yet this eve. Thought I'd run over and get those iris's from you late tomorrow afternoon if you'll be home. Hopefully I may have a peacock egg for you too. :)
Sheri............jealous of your mixer. I make 3 loaves of bread by hand every Monday morning. Have for years. I guess when I think about it, I better keep doing it by hand,,,,,,,,,,,,, kneading all that dough lets me get out frustrations!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad you didn't have a stroke! I hope you're feeling better soon. I totally understand the stress involved with your mom. My mom lives with us and she has Alzheimers too. She's been with us about 5 years now. You might want to join us in the Caregiver's forum here at Daves. Good luck with moving her in with you.

So... I've been searching high and low for "Jack Frost" hosta for my mother-in-law... finally I sent her a photo of Brunnera Jack Frost and THAT is what she is looking for. I'm not sure I have the heart to tell her it is not a hosta. Anyway, thought I'd send a feeler out if anyone coming to the swap has this plant I'd love to make a special trade :-)

one more thing, off subject I know. but because of my lifestyle change having my mom move in, i have unfortunately decided to have a large flock dispersal. Naraganset turkeys, peacocks (whites, blues,pieds and crosses, everything except splash), and some brahma chickens. I'll give anyone truly interested a fair deal.

just type in 106 cherry st freeport 49325 from your home it will come up UB church of freeport but the park is right accross the st :)
I would bring 96 down to the lowell-alto M50 exit go south pass alto to 50 East 2 way stop go east past tyler creek golf corse next rd will be Freepot AVE turn right follow the signs when you get to freeport ave your about 4-5 miles from town .

the gardens we went to ??? Battle creek beautyfull place had a great time with great friends :)
want to go to their pumpkin carving on the 22nd if i can get someone to go with :)))) .

as for the ducklings I have sold many but I still have 6 tiny babies , 3 , that are 2 mo's old & about 8 of the older ones :) born in may :) have a lady comming tomorrow (Maybe) never know till they show ya know :)

Susie, as i just said to Ronna, having my mom here has proven to be quite a struggle. We're figuring she has progressed to the mid stages of alzhiemers. we see a specialist on sept 3. then she is suppose to return to Fl. where my dad will care for her as long as possible. Its more than a full time job, and trying to do it on my own has made me a bit sick. i have a aunt who is coming over tomorrow to relieve me for a few hrs if my mom will let her. I REALLY need to sell some birds. My misfortune could definately work in the right persons favor. I am willing to sell for half price. If you know anyone interested in the Naragansetts, or India blue, or white cross peacocks please forward my email address, and or phone number.
I do have the pictures of the spring swap ready for you. My oldest daughter said she'd come watch my mom one day so i could get out and do some errands. Maybe i could run them over , or meet for coffee and give them to you.
I'm so looking forward to the swap in Oct. Though my gardens have been completely neglected the past month, the flowers are beautifull, and I have an abundance of veggies. Hope to talk to you soon,

Well i open a garage sale this morning to see if i can get rid of some trinket's collected over the years that I don't have any more use for & I hope someone else can find good use of :) .

we got a nice rain last night not sure what its going to do for the day have not heard the news yet .
