I look forward to receiving their emails. I recently ordered two Maple leaf Hibiscus from them. I think due to them being closeouts for the season I received four. Yay! They are all thriving in my garage right now waiting for spring planting. Santa Rosa ships quickly and I mean within a couple to few days, the plants arrive in great condition. Santa Rosa has become my favorite mail order vendor. Very healthy and good quality plants. |
Positive | sassybutterfly8 (3 reviews) | On Jan 18, 2011, sassybutterfly8 Powder Springs, GA wrote: I just placed my second, and much larger order, with this company. My last order, back in the fall, was sent very quickly, the plants were large and VERY healthy!! Everything is still growing well for me. My next order will come in April and I know I will be receiving beautiful, healthy plants once again! The communication with the company is superb, they offer fantastic deals - join their mailing list! Their website if extremely well built, easy to find and locate just what you're looking for, and the flowers are just as pretty when you get them as they are on their website pics! Thanks so much! I highly recommend this company if you're looking for some great plants!! |

A few of the plants from a 2009 order never thrived, but I just recently (January 2011) got around to asking if they could be replaced or substituted at this late date. The response was absolutely, no problem, we will ship a new batch in the spring. So not only do they have remarkable customer service, despite the rare failure of these few plants the quality of their plant stock is tremendous. Also, the grasses from my original comment? So huge and beautiful now I will be able to split them next spring! |
Positive | SonnyFL (1 review) | On Dec 3, 2010, SonnyFL Milton, FL wrote: I have been purchasing plants and supplies, both on sale and not on sale for a very long time. There has never been any problem s that can't be resolved. All transactions have always been dealt with by courteous individuals and never dropped or forgotten. Everyone that I have ever spoken to was unbelievably helpful and friendly. Orders are shipped out so quickly that it sometimes seems impossible. Everything is carefully packed and they all arrive safely despite the weather. All plants have been healthy and grew quickly. Even in the rare situation that a plant I have ordered is no longer available there has always been ways to remedy the situation. In a nutshell, this is a company that aims to please, and they do. |

I was very impressed with the ease of the ordering process, how quickly the plants were shipped, and the follow up emails from the company with info on how to track my package. |
Positive | BackyardSlave (1 review) | On Oct 5, 2010, BackyardSlave wrote: I ordered some sheep shears from this company about 5 years ago. As a result, they kept sending me e-mails about their plants. I finally decided to give them a try and ordered 16 verbena and some bulbs. The plants arrived nicely packed & vibrant. I was impressed and placed another order within a week. A week after planting the verbena, we had a searing heat wave. 4 of the verbena were negatively impacted and are not doing so well. |
Positive | veryblessed (19 reviews) | On Oct 4, 2010, veryblessed Morehead, KY wrote: This was my first order with Santa Rosa. I ordered about 15 plants that were on sale just as a test and I received a beautiful box of healthy plants! They were packaged very well and wrapped in netting. I am going to order from Santa Rosa again. |
Positive | CatskillDeb (5 reviews) | On Sep 30, 2010, CatskillDeb Oneonta, NY (Zone 4a) wrote: I am very happy with the orders I have received from Santa Rosa Gardens. I first heard about them last year on a gardening forum, and I got in on their late summer sale. I admit that I was hesitant to order plants from a company based in Florida, since I live in zone 4 in upstate NY. The prices were great, so I ordered several grasses and carexes that I hadn't tried before, plus a few perennial plants. I ordered several things this week in this year's similar sale. In both shipments, the plants were a nice size and in great shape. Last year's plants did fine here, despite moving several zones north. (Of course I only ordered plants rated for z4 and z5.) And no plastic peanuts were harmed in the wrapping of their plants. I also appreciate that their policy is not to ship late in the week, so that plants don't languish in a truck or warehouse somewhere over the weekend. |
Positive | mlarrey (2 reviews) | On Sep 27, 2010, mlarrey Omaha, NE wrote: I cannot speak too highly of Santa Rosa Gardens. Their products come in a timely manner; they are bright and alive and take off within a day or two of being planted! And Darlene was a real peach when I needed to revise my on-line order. I am done buying dead-on-arrival plants! |
Positive | Florida9 (12 reviews) | On Sep 23, 2010, Florida9 Palm Harbor, FL (Zone 9b) wrote: I just received my first order from SRG, 5 types of plants to try them out. It won't be my last. The plants were so inexpensive I hadn't expected much more than rooted cuttings. What I got were well rooted plants. They are now potted up and actively growing. The packaging did a very good job of protecting the foliage of each plant. I like buying from Florida nurseries since plants started in our humid, hot climates seem to survive better than the same varieties started in more arid western climates. I'll be placing a bigger order with them for spring. |

Positive | Suziq155 (1 review) | On Aug 23, 2010, Suziq155 Pensacola, FL wrote: I've ordered from them 5-6 times over the last 18 months. All items have arrived on time as promised, in excellent condition and are usually larger than I expect. The time or 2 I've had an issue with an order,(incorrect or missing item) they've made a correction immediately and with no fuss. They have a great variety, especially grasses, tho I'm a perennial nut! I can't recommend them more highly. |
Positive | driver1234golf (2 reviews) | On Aug 18, 2010, driver1234golf Greenup, KY wrote: So nice to deal with this company! Ordered over thirty of their clearance priced ornamental grasses( in two separate orders). Recieved notification of estimated ship wk and then actual ship date. All arrived in beautiful condition with their famous professional packing. I wish I had time elapsed photo capability, because you can almost "see"" these babies grow! Their wonderful sale items allowed me to afford my erosion control project on a very steep slope. And they appear to be thriving there. Thank you Santa Rosa! |
Positive | guest01 (1 review) | On Aug 16, 2010, guest01 Newport, RI wrote: I had said I would provide follow-up on the blossom color later when the plants came into bloom. I am writing to let you know that now that summer has advanced and my plants have grown, that all of the Campanula Carpatica which I was in dispute about with your company have turned out to be the CORRECT BLUE plants. I originally ordered 4 and when I complained that you sent WHITE instead of BLUE, your company kindly sent a replacement order of another 4. On Aug 16, 2010, Santa Rosa Gardens responded with: "On Aug 16, 2010 4:48 PM, Santa Rosa Gardens responded with: Thanks so much for your post! No need to feel bad about the replacements. Our goal is that our customers would be pleased with the plants we provide and experience success with them. Glad it worked out that way. Happy gardening and enjoy those Campanulas!" |

After I placed the order, I was worried about shipping in the heat; since it is August and has been in the upper 90's. My plants arrived today and they look great. The packaging is very good. This is not my first order with Santa Rosa, and I have always been happy with the plants I have received. |

Dina is great and the deals are unbeatable. I have always received healthy plants. Occasionally, the Texas sun causes wilt for one or two plants in an order from anyone. SRG cheerfully replaces any, even for problems out of their control. Top notch company! |

I have planted them all and they have all done very well so far. The prices are excellent too, and the communication regarding when the plants will be shipped is nice. Very good company and excellent customer service (which seems to be hard to find these days). I am expecting my second order soon - thanks again! |

Positive | growcrazy (1 review) | On Jul 19, 2010, growcrazy Port Saint Joe, FL wrote: I started gardening three years ago and bought my first perennial grasses from Santa Rosa. They arrived beautifully packaged with precise instructions on handling them and in great condition. The first year, they outperformed identical plants I had purchased from a local nursery. Every year I have added more grasses as well as some tropicals, purchasing from them nearly exclusively. I lost about 30% of my purple fountain grass this past winter and sent them an email asking if they would regrow. They unexpectedly sent me 7 new plants, because they replace any plants that do not survive their first year. I was so impressed by this, since they certainly had nothing to do with the cold winter. They always answer my emails promptly and go the extra mile in customer service. |

Positive | wvplantlady (1 review) | On Jul 5, 2010, wvplantlady Paw Paw, WV wrote: In the spring of 2009 I ordered about 80 Karley Rose grasses from SRG, along with some Blue Knight butterfly bushes and some black-eyed Susans. The grasses and butterfly bushes were purchased to fill a large planter my husband had built to help hide a container building. They did well last summer but this year the grasses have at least doubled in size and put out large, beautiful pink plumes. They are quite simply--glorious. The Karley Rose has quickly become my favorite landscaping plant. I will be ordering more from SRG. They are wonderful to deal with and answer all emails quickly. I have complete faith in them and their quality plants. I will be ordering more grasses from them in the future. Anyone reading this should have no hesitation about ordering from these folks--they are simply the best I have ever ordered from. On Jul 5, 2010, Santa Rosa Gardens responded with: "On Jul 8, 2010 8:00 AM, Santa Rosa Gardens responded with: Thanks for sending photos. The planting looks spectacular! Wait till the butterfly bushes fill in more!" |
Positive | dancingbear27 (7 reviews) | On Jul 5, 2010, dancingbear27 Elba, NY (Zone 6a) wrote: This was my first order with this company but definitely will not be my last! I ordered 39 plants from their sale list. I wasn't expecting very much due to low prices. I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Plants were expertly boxed. Only a very tiny amount of soil escaped on their long journey from Florida to NY. My little girl and I were unwrapping just like getting gifts at Christmas! There was only one plant that looked a little worse for wear but I think it will perk up. Healthy plants with nice strong root systems. Might even have to hit that sale list again.... |

UPS did a number on my plants and they offered to replace some of the plants they killed, but more importantly they were happy to change my next order to Fed Ex, not a hassle or anything. Sure enough I recieved my latest order today via Fed Ex and this time the plants are healthy large and moist. I've said it once but I'll say it again, they really do have great customer service and the plants themselves are wonderful. |

Plus I needed the last order to be sent a little earlier than they planned to ship it due to travel plans--emailed Dina back and no problem, got confirmation that the order was put in the mail that day and it was later received in great condition. I got their special 18 plants for 19.99, their choice, and got two each of 9 varieties, all in just as good shape as their usual stuff. Whatever I wasn't especially fond of became gifts for a new to gardening friend to try their skills on, and the rest will add more color to my gardens. It was an incredible deal. Super company, great prices, can't go wrong. |

I chose them because of their ratings here on GW and because they are also in Florida. Thanks, will order again. |
