Comments regarding Gardener's Supply Company

I ordered a couple things from this company recently and got them quickly. No problems. I'll order from them again.

I have become a regular customer of Gardener's Supply and overall find the company to be excellent in terms of speed of delivery and quality of items they sell. The company really tries hard to satisfy their customers, which is more than I can say for many online or brick and mortar merchants. I have returned a couple items which upon receipt really did not fit my needs or expectations. Never a problem. I hope they keep up the good work.

I cannot recommend Gardeners Supply highly enough. I have placed six orders with them to date and will place my seventh today. I have had a few occasions to contact the company and each time the problem was promptly and courteously resolved - I received one item that had a broken piece, and 4 hours after sending an email to customer service I received a response apologizing and assuring me that a replacement would be sent promptly - no need to send the broken piece back, which I appreciated. I also called about the status of a backordered item and the phone customer service rep was very friendly and helpful and really knew the products. I have been very happy with the quality of all of the merchandise I have ordered as it is exactly as represented in the catalogs and on the website.

I had ordered something last week and paid extra for second day air via UPS. The items arrived and one was totally broken. It was something ceramic, a "toad trailer" to be exact, so don't laugh! I called the company and talked to customer service. I was told they would replace the item, and I did not need to send anything back. They apologized because it was Friday and it wouldn't go out until Monday. I received it today, Tuesday by next day air. I am totally pleased with the company and will order from them again.

This company is great and I would order from them anytime! I ordered seedballs which got lost in the mail and they sent a replacement immediately and I also ordered a solar starburst light that had a defect and they are sending me a replacement for that as well no questions asked. What a great customer service department they have! Kudos to you Jake and Jan...........

I've ordered from them four times and have no complaints. I'll continue to order from this company.

This is a really personable and well-run company! We have a number of excellent nurseries in our area that have extensive plants and some garden implements, but the choices are extremely limited (or non-existent) on larger items such as hose carts, high quality tomato cages, composters... a friend recommended Gardener's Supply and I was amazed at the number of items on their website -- not just one or two items in a category, but REAL choices!

My first experience with the company was falling head over heels for an enormous tumbling composter -- that was discontinued, but I took a chance that they might still have one at their outlet store -- we made the trip to the store in person, I had the photo and description from the website, and sure enough, they still had a few in the back! I was impressed that the staff knew their extensive merchandise line well and even made suggestions of items they had personally used. I bought several large and bulky items, that one of the staffers took out of the original packing and helped me pack into my small car (no easy feat)!

When I got home, I was the envy of my neighbors with the sturdiest tomato cages ever, the incredible HUGE composter and the tractor scoot! All of the items are very well-made, durable and easy to assemble, and the container booster mix they sell did wonders for my 30' by 2' brick planter. I had hoped to make another trip to the retail store and outlet a few weeks ago, but my plans changed... and that day a free shipping offer came by email-- I got to order the huge hose cart and several organic products -- on sale! What is the most amazing is that the items were ordered on Saturday and I had them delivered to me the following Wednesday!!!
Not nearly as much fun as a trip to Burlington VT in the springtime, but much easier on the car!
I HIGHLY recommend them and am glad to see them listed in the Top 30.

I have been ordering from Gardeners Supply for years (some of my APS are so old they might qualify as antiques!). I have ordered all sorts of things from them, and though they might not be the least expensive for products or shipping, I have found their customer service to be terrific--and personal. For garden supplies, they're at the top of my list.

I ordered a copper birdbath from this company. It arrived promptly and was incredibly well-packaged. The quality of this item was high, the design was as nice as it looked in the catalog, the gauge of the metal was heavy duty, and the pieces fit together very well. My first order from them and I am quite satisfied.

This company has great merchandise and wonderful customer service. I placed an order with them in January that failed to show up. After 2 1/2 weeks of no package I called and spoke with a really nice customer service representative who assured me they'd re-ship the next day. And they did. Turns out UPS has messed up the original shipment and after they heard from Gardener's Supply they became very active in trying to locate that package. The Garderner's Supply re-shipment arrived only a few days after my call. So prompt! Ironically UPS finally located my original package - 2 months after shipment. Thanks Gardener's Supply!

I ordered the 2-tier light garden. It arrived in one week. The unit is sturdy and easy to assemble. There were a few very minor issues, which customer service corrected quickly and courteously.

I have ordered several items from Gardeners Supply during the past year and am extremely pleased with their service. A copper birdbath I ordered last summer arrived with a hole in the bowl. They immediately sent me a replacement bowl. The gardening supplies tend to be the highest quality available. I can't wait to use my new hose caddy and the heavy duty tomato ladders!

I have ordered from them several times, and have been completely and totally satisfied with all aspects of the purchase (website, communication, and shipping). They have a good selection of useful and unique products which are high-quality and priced fairly. On many products, they also include helpful tips and or additional info for assembly, etc.

For many years I have ordered various items from this company. I have a very low customer # to prove it! I have ordered various items from a garden cart, bird feeders, tools, plants, dishes etc: Not once have I been disappointed. Only one time was something placed on back order. I do think that their shipping rates are high - but I order heavy items. Their bags of soil are excellent and so is their compost.
They seem to have most everything a gardener (or others) would need, want or crave. Once in a while I've had to call customer service, and have been pleased with the results. This is one of the very few places I would recommend because they are consistent with results.

I have order a from Gardener's supply quite a few time and I have been very happy with them. I get my order on time, if not earlier and the products are great!

I recently placed an order with Gardener's Supply when I received an offer for free shipping. All items arrived in a timely fashion and well packaged. I would order from them again without hesitation.

I ordered the Garden Starters Greenhouse from this company and not only was the price good, the greenhouse was easy to assemble, and of quality construction. It comes with a 10 year guarantee, and some of my gardening friends that have seen it, or helped me assemble it are seriopusly thinking about buying one.

I have ordered many times from Gardener's Supply over the years and have always found their products to be as described. Along with typical gardening items, they also have some really neat gifts at competitive pricing. Not always practical gifts, but fun all the same :)

The only disappointing thing about this company is the high price of shipping. I try to avoid orders of single small items because the shipping almost doubles the price. But if you are placing a larger order, the cost of shipping ends up feeling more reasonable.

Their automated phone answering recording is great. You can actually speak to a real person right away without having to listen to mintues of options. The person I spoke to was extremely helpful and friendly and went to great efforts to help me with my order. Definitely great customer service which is a rarity these days.

I have ordered from this company on several occassions and finally visited them last year. Excellent place. Great service, fantastic selection. Well worth the drive if you are ever in the area

I placed a small order for a flower aquarium. The order was shipped promptly, well packaged, and is truly a unique item. I would have no problem ordering with them again.

They have a great catalog with some unusual and interesting items. They ship promptly.

I placed a small order on 1-20 using the mail order form, not the website, and my order was on my doorstep 1-27, I never expected it would get here so fast. It was also packaged well. I was very pleased with this company and will order from them again.

I phoned in an order for a birdbath with them in spring 2005 and the person on the phone was very friendly and helpful. I got my order quickly and the birdbath was as beatiful as described. I also think it is unfair for someone to give them a negative rating on account of them not having a particular thing. I buy from several different companies each year, local and elsewhere, because not a single one of them has EVERYTHING I am looking for.

I ordered a gift for my sister for Christmas and it arrived promptly and well-packed. I couldn't find a kneeling pad like this one anywhere else. Absolutely no problem here.

I don't know why I didn't think to post feedback about this company before. Have bought from them many times and have been 100% satisfied with quality of products, pricing, customer service and S&H.

I placed an order for Christmas yesterday due to their free shipping for orders placed this weekend.

Later on I realized I had forgotten to buy for Harry, our rescue Lhasa. I filled out the form and saw there was a shipping charge for orders under $75.00. I emailed the company, they replied promptly and asked me to send them the data on what I wanted to order. I did, they added it to my order and there will be no shipping charges.

The negative comment above, on the fact that they didn't have a specific tool, was absurd. How could one company be expected to have every possible tool in every size, etc.

I had problems with lighting fixtures of the 3-tiered light garden. After emailing the problem, a cust service rep promptly apologized for the inconvenience and advised that she was sending out replacement fixtures and new bulbs. The new fixtures came very quickly, and were much improved from the old fixtures. I was impressed by the level of service and good will demonstrated by this company in correcting the problem.

These guys are fantastic. I ordered a product I wasn't happy with, and they returned my shipping cost and all! Also very speedy response to my emails!

I placed an order with GS that was arrived quickly and well packaged.Unfortunately UPS crushed the top of the box ,and damaged the product. I contacted GS, who courteously and promptly sent a replacement. I will definitely continue to order from them.
They are a WONDERFUL company to deal with and I sure do wish I had read the feedback here for some of the other really bad online companies I have been buying plants from.

I regularly order from Gardeners' Supply - just recently splurged on some large self-watering planters (which they practically specialize in). They're one catalog company I don't want to do without.

The website is easy to navigate and they have a large inventory of supplies, even for indoor gardening. I've ordered a couple times and a few hundred dollars' worth of stuff from them in the last few months and am very happy with their service. You always get a receipt and shipping confirmation on your order. Packaging is careful and shipping is quick. Emails are answered within a day or two. As far as their products, I really like their self-watering container mix combined with small-cut coconut husk chips for indoor citrus - great drainage. Their transplant insurance and root shield have helped revive my ailing transplanted plants.

Based on the Garden Watchdog reviews, I've placed 2 orders for supplies with them in 2005, and have been very happy with the selection, quality, and service. Their prices and shipping costs seem a little high, though.

Gardener's Supply saved my sanity!

A few months ago, I bought a bag of potting soil that was, unbeknownst to me, infested with fungus gnat larvae. I repotted all my houseplants with this mixture, and within a week, had swarms of fungus gnats in my house. I tried everything to get rid of them, and nothing worked. Finally, when I was browsing on Gardener's website, I saw a product that contained beneficial nematodes that claimed to kill fungus gnats almost immediately, and would offer continuous protection.

I thought, as I swatted fungus gnats away from my monitor, why not try this?

So, I placed my order with Gardener's. Their website is very well designed, and the order process was seamlessly put together. The next business day, I received a call from them letting me know that I had entered an incorrect credit card number, and when I called back to correct it, I found their customer service rep to be very friendly and laid back.

A week later I received my little nematodes. Two days after I applied them to the soil, I HAVE NO MORE FUNGUS GNATS!!!

I will definitely be ordering from Gardener's again, it really was one of the best gardening transactions I've had in a long time.

Excellent company. Never had to call about anything. Everything is well packaged, arriving in good timeframe and good condition. I have been ordering from them for several years and will keep doing so.

I have ordered several times from them this season. Large and small items; everything came earlier than expected. I called CS twice and they were helpful and knowlegeable both times. I bought several of their self watering Terrazza planters and they were very easy to put together. I would not hesitate to order from them again!

Shipping was super quick. I ordered their 3 tier sunlight kit rack. I ordered it on a Tuesday and it arrived on Thursday - just 2 days! (however, they told me it would take 6-8 days).
I am very happy with the sunlight rack - works well and is good quality.

These guys are wonderful. I have ordered from them several times and have always gotten prompt service and good quality products. I have been particularly happy with the seed starting self watered units and the germinating mix this year. I have had excellent results. I highly recommend them.
