PLEASE READ BEFORE REQUESTING PLANT TRADES

I am on this site to trade plants that are hard to find locally or are not available in most garden centers/nurseries. Mostly I grow trees and shrubs and prefer to trade for them as well. I do not give away plants in exchange for postage. I have a lot of experience growing, propagating and shipping plants so I ask that anyone who inquires about a trade at least can properly identify plants, ship them properly and can tell when a cutting is rooted. I have been sent plants in the past that were not correctly identified, not rooted or were not prepared for shipping carefully. I may ask for pictures of plants before I agree to trade but am willing to do the same in return. I grow some rare/unusual plants that I am happy to trade but I will not trade them for average garden center plants (boxwood, hosta, coneflower, spirea, etc.)

Daphne Hybrid
Daphne

I currently have close to 20 Daphne varieties but have to be selective about trading them so please read this before asking me to trade any of them. If I could produce these in numbers like I can with hydrangeas, weigelas, etc. I would be more willing to give them up. Daphnes are expensive, difficult to find and take a while to propagate in numbers. They are not forgiving with mistakes and often die quickly when their requirements are not met. I don't like to send out a daphne and then have a complaint because it died shortly after.
With that being said, I will only trade these for plants that are not commonly found in garden centers and will not trade for perennials. My trade list has several plants I'd be willing to trade for. I will trade for other daphnes. My cuttings are typically small, they don't like to stay in pots long and grow best in the ground.

Hydrangea macrophylla

I have some nice mophead and lacecap varieties that I hope to propagate this year (a few are macrophylla and some are serrata). I just moved and am not set up as well as I was last year to take large numbers of cuttings so not sure what I will have right now. If you'd like one, tell me what you want and I'll see what I have. I like to take cuttings late summer and early fall on these but I'm willing to do it sooner if you'd like one.
