3" fruit are dark red and moderately hot. (15k to 30k shu) Easy to dry and preserve. Dried pods are easily crushed to make red pepper flakes (I use a crab mallet on a cutting board) but also create a striking appearance (but less heat) when used whole in cooking. I prefer the latter, as the seeds don't get into the dish.

This is a slightly pungent pepper which resembles a small cayenne pod. I use it whole in cooking when I want to make a dish attractive without adding heat. Mine is doing well in a 4-inch pot indoors.
