Jen, Nice 'shrooms. Are they from the same group? I like how delicate the ones in the first photo look.

Here's a really strange one I found behind my potting bench today. it's about 7 to 8" tall. The stem is almost an inch thick. It might still be opening. There were two, but I clobbered the other one with a pot before I noticed it.

Within about 5' from each other.

That is a strange looking one.

Jen, then I guess they are two totally different types.

My wierd 'shroom doesn't look like it has opened anymore. Maybe it will look different tomorrow after the rain.

My poor River Birch lost two limbs this summer and now it's growing Funghi.

They're even growing out of the break. Haven't had the time to fully cut the trunk away.

I came across this really neat Funghi in the Fern, Funghi & Moss forum.

Nice site John, You might be right but I don't go around tasting mushrooms growing in the yard, don't know enough about them to take a chance.
They are fascinating and I like taking photos of what ever I find in the yard.

Lady, I like the scalopped edges on that one. The second shot is really neat too.

I thought that Death Star Funghi was really cool.

John, That's a great site, Thanks.

That strange invader link thread is kind of interesting. I enjoy my slime on the dead limbs but guess I would also have to take action when threatened with bodily harm.
lady, pretty fringed beauty there.
Apopkajohn, you may have some very different ones we don't have here. Got pix?

That fungus of RCN's reminds me of Monkey brains that are sold in the orient for food. Very yukky.

Lexington, VA(Zone 6a)

LOL, the invader IS "yukky"!
