Stevie, your gardens and lawn are so well manicured. :) I might acheive that look once this season, maybe, ok, maybe not. :) But I get to see pictures of your and that works just fine for me. :)

Tomah, WI

Got these at Walmart on Monday. They are "cheater" blooms, but blooms none the less. They are getting planted today.

"Cheater" or not, they're still lovely and certainly will have you smiling and your neighbors applauding your talent. Don't tell them about WM.

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Cheater blooms are the only way to extend the season. I'm all for it (in case you hadn't noticed) ;) Very nice.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Getting caught up here on all the pretty blooms. Steve, that Surprise is nice and Neon Gold is one I will have to look in to!! Love the out facing ones!

I have buds all over everything ...getting anxious for some here!

Thanks Susan - you should come to one of the IA roundups! Have you been to any?

Becky, those are all colors I would have picked and I am sure I wouldn't have been able to pass them buy without snagging them. Very pretty.

Diann, thanks and I will pass that on to Dave. He won't let me mow the lawn because he says I don't do it right.

nanny, thanks and you really do need to look into "Neon Gold" from Buggy. I am going to make a bonanza order from her this fall. She has really unique stuff that no one else has (I am talking about Buggycrazy). The pictures on her website don't do many of these flowers justics. Here is "Neon Gold" again - so cool it deserves to be posted twice!

Here are some of the Asiatics I potted up from last year's B&B end of season sale - thy actually have come back really well being in pots. I had blooms in July in this pot last yar; fortunately it is/was protected from too much sun or they would have been fried. If I decide to pot other up I might try the suggestion from Ililyfan in her presentation at the Iowa RU and line the insides of the pots with foil, reflective side out.

Here's another one; same story.

This bed applies Ticker's "drop it, plant it" rule, LOL - it is getting seriously overgrown and I need to weed it today. I have knowckout roses, salvia, lilies of several kinds, daylilies, tuberoses, gladioli, and coneflowers all in this bed and while it looks OK from a distance and kind of wildflowery it is a jumbled mess ^_^ Also daffs and hyacinths with decaying foliage :-(

I also planted lilies in my mostly shady hosta bed which I shouldn't have done probably but they came back well this year - again B&B EOS sale bulbs. I am digging them up this fall and will put more hostas in their place :-)

Sorry Diann I just can't cut flower stalks off of anything LOL

I know this is not a lily but isn't this a cool daylily? "Canadian Border Patrol" - funky name!~

Steve-
Your Daylily is a beauty.

I love that Neon Gold Lily you have posted, I am going to have to see if its available this year and buy it. Plus your "overgrown" bed looks great to me. I guess the secret is to takes pictures from far away so that no weeds can be noticed LOL.

I can picture that Neon Gold w/ my red roses. I bet the tiny little red center on NG would really stand out, even though it's just a little bit of red.

Steve do I see fruit trees? what you got?

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Oh, no, Buggy's going to have a run on Neon Golds :-) I need to get there first! LOL

You are correct, Nery - good eye - I have an apple and two pears I just planted last fall that are all producing fruit. Have three other fruiting pears and another fruiting apple that have not set fruit yet. The three pears have been in the gound on their third spring now.

This little guy is only between four and five ft tall and already has about six apples on it, already quite large fruits.

Nice. I am surprised you have apple fruit w/o having a pollinator. which apple variety is that Steve? I have Anna, supposed to be self-fruitful, but even then, a pollinator makes them more productive. I will get a compatible pollinator next year.

I went on a fruit tree binge also. Got 2 figs, a peach, more citrus.

Here is more Serrada.

I'm pretty sure this is from Lisa aka buggycrazy but I've misplaced the tag. Doesn't it look like a yellow Muscadet? I adore it! If somebody recognizes it, PLMK

Ah, Steve, I should have been there to break off that hosta flower. Ok, let it bloom, just don't let it go to seed. :) LOL

I only have cherry trees here. Had an old one and planted four others. Have a Mulberry tree too. Tried an apple tree one year but it died overwinter. I do have a necterine but now that I think about it I don't remember it flowering this spring. Five crab apples but they don't count because they are all the very small fruited ones that are only fit for the birds to eat. But theres lots and lots of shrub fruit, Serviceberries, Blueberries, Gooseberries, blackberries and Red Currants. Used to have raspberries too but dug them out and planted a flower garden of daylilies along in there instead.

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Love that oriental vossner! I can't recall which one it is, but it is adorable. I am a huge Buggy oriental fan.

Steve, love those lilies.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

wow beautifull lillies such amazing colors

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Diann a bunch of them are flowering including yours but I will cut the seed pods off when they're finished :-) I mulched my new hosta bed today as well.

Nery, great lilies and I love the Oriental with the yellow flares. Beautiful! BTW I think the apple tree is a Dorsett ot Golden Dorsett or something like that...got it at the local nursery and lost the tag. I have a Granny Smith as well but it flowered later. I may have to get another couple to be viable pollinators but have no idea where I'll put them!

Rita, I planted four cherry trees (fruiting) and all four died. Don't think it was a climate issue however because there is this section of the back 40 in our back yard where nothing I have planted lived - even a Mimosa went in after the cherries died and it croaked too - and they're nearly indestructable here. Well in this area the neighbors tell us the guy who owned this property before our house was even built had a junkyard and even today we find lots of old car parts that wash up after a rain that we have to clean up. I wonder if he spilled/leaked something into the soil that is toxic to everything there. I put a pecan tree here last fall and it has sprouted leaves this spring and looks good - so far! I do have three flowering cherries I planted just after we bought the house that have done very well up front however. I want to try some fruiting ones if I can find a good spot for them.

Thanks Tracey - I planted your Visaversa today in a prolific spot :-)

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Can't wait to see it.

Second lily of this year. I think its of the Pixie series.

But of course^_^

Southern, WI(Zone 5a)

Cute and brimming with color! What else would we expect from a Pixie? ^_^

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Exactly!! lol I love the small ones...don't know why but they just appeal to me immensely!!

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Very nice, jmorth :-)

That London is such a beautiful yellow lily. :)

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Thanks Diann :-) I really like it too - what staying power. Don't think I have ever had a single variety go as long as I think that one will.

here is Tamburo in the sun....

Very nice. :) There is something to be said for clear one color lilies. :)

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Some pink finally mixed with my yellow....

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Yeah I have never gotten into the bicolor lilis or the spotted or tango ones....maybe I should try some.

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

I'm guilty of having all of those. :) But you need the clear one-color lilies in between the bi-color and such to keep everything from getting too busy... Like I follow that rule. LOL
