Quite the enabler ... you are so naughty!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

It's my calling. >:)

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

What? Eabling or being Naughty? I go for naughty... LOL

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

I think Mainiac posted this link earlier this year http://summerchasegardens.vstore.ca/

They have martagons from Hartle Gilman (hope I spelled that right -- their server's busy right now). I'm definitely getting some of these this fall. Though they're oh-so pricey, so will have to exercise mucho will power.

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

p.s. just decided my mother-in-law will be getting me martagons for my birthday!

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Wicker, your mother-in-law has excellent taste! :) LOL

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Nice mother-in-law!

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

She doesn't know about this yet. But, yes, very nice mother-in-law.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Good grief!! How am I to choose? I didn't realize they're were so many!!!!!

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Pixie, just get three of each! :) LOL

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

OK 3 of each....you tell my DH fsce to face. LOL

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Hey Ticker, how about if we have Theresa talk to pixie's DH??

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Yeah!!! She's good at talking people into things! She sure talked that cute young man from Hollingsworth into giving us a deal on peonies! :) LOL

Oooh Pixie, you best be digging some holes! LOL

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Poor Mr. Pixie.... hee hee

Elgin, IL(Zone 5a)

What lovely martagons, everyone. I only have one, and it's formed some offsets and is in bud. But mine are very basic beginner ones. Yours are gorgeous.

Some Martagons from Maxine are about ready to bloom....

J/K about DH, he's 6ft, 223lbs a big old country boy with a teddy bear heart.
See?

That face doesn't look like one that would say no to martagons, Pixie .

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Nah, he's too good to me. My birthdays coming so im sure he'll let me get a "few". lol

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

So, is he kissing that bunny or tasting it? :) Just kidding, he looks like an old softy! :)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

He acts like he'd be tasting it but no, he's kissing her. She was born and raised outside, her mother & dad were gone off and she had a dirty butt. DH scooped her up, brought her in the house and washed her little bottom in the sink w/warm water. He then towel dried her and brought her back outside and let her go. He's a BIG softy when it comes to bunnies. lol This is the same bunny 5 weeks later, she washes her feet/bottom in the water bowl. We have to put 2 out now. ^_^

What a sweet little bunny. :) That is serious pet material!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

We have a few.....one lives in the house, her name is Sophie , she is white like that little one but she weighs 7 lbs!!! DH found her in our woodline in Nov. It was 24 degrees out, a hawk was sitting in the Oak tree and she still had her eyes closed. DH moticed her in the brown woods shivering, saw the hawk and resecued her. We've had her ever since.
She was a mess when we got her..... the size of a 6 oz. pineapple can.

I wish we had adorable little white bunnies like that running around!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

No you don't! lol I have 2 'Montego Bay's" that I won't be see blooming this year~maybe next! Really not bad as I planted at least 50 lilies bulbs and they only nawed off 2 stems.
I told DH "You need to go talk to your bunnies!!"
Thats when he taught them to pray..........

Never thought I'd see a rabbit I considered adorable - but they are!

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

I'd say that little guy is pretty safe. :) LOL

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Hmm, let me put it another way... it's a good thing my bunnies aren't those cute little white or buff colored things, or I'd feel bad about shooting them.

Perhaps that's the more honest answer. ;)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

DH used to be the same way but these guys stole his heart.

Elgin, IL(Zone 5a)

Moby,

Hey I'm no saint. I repell them with stuff. More effective than running after them and cursing (yes, lot's of personal experience)...

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Pixie, do you have problems with them chewing on stuff in the house?

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

No bunnies here, and not much in the lily dept. either, but do have some Mrs. R.O. Backhouse opening up, and am excited just to see something bloom.

Here's a longer view of the border where this fall I'm planning to put as many "bday presents" as I can squeeze in.... I think some dark red marts would be so pretty there.

Okay, one more of Ms B -- she's a tiny one, but looks pretty with the astrantia. And I'm enjoying having photos to share at last!

Wicker--beautiful landscape. And yes, I think your bday presents would look wonderful there.

This is my white form of the normal martagon.

A darling path in addition to your beautiful plants wickerparker. Your place looks very sweet and relaxing. So nice of you to share your pictures. I know your gardens are to die for!

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

Oh Laura, your gardens are just wonderful! :) I agree totally with Mags that they look so relaxing. :) More pictures please!

Galanthopile, lovely white martagon. :) I think I got some of those last year, I just don't remember where I planted them.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Ticker she has her own hutch w/ramp. We latch it unless we are in the room with her. We have 4 dogs and a cat.......we've never left them all alone together. LOL The dogs are pretty good with her, the cat is her 'friend' and they actually play.

We call this one 'Patches', he's one of the outside bunnies. He was born and raised wild so he seldom lets me pat him. Maybe once a week if im lucky and have banana is my hand. ^_^

Thanks you guys. I adore lilies because even in close quarters I can keep finding places to tuck them in. Same with clematis. And koi. Wondering now if there's some place I could squeeze in a rabbit hutch. So cute.
