Historic Iris Swap Anyone?

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Great, thanks Neal! I'm in then.

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

Bev, that's what I'm thinking, and I know bearded iris are tough and and easy to handle. I'm not sure about spurias, but a lot of Iris would need to remain moist and require more care and supervision.

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6a)

This sounds like fun! I have a few that are oldies. INDIAN CHIEF, WABASH, EVOLUTION, and the grape smelling one. What is its name?
It is tall and lavender and blooms later than most. A big white one and also a yellow that looks like one above.

The 'dart' at the end of the beards helps ID 'Stepping Out'.

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Mine don't have the dart so maybe I am wrong. BEV

Very pretty! Do you have a couple to share? I would love a couple of your rhizomes. The beard adds such contrast to the white falls. Also I have some short yellow ones that Mom has had before me LOL. I don't have a pick of them but they may be an intermediate. Do the grape smelling ones have a name?

dd i want that celestial flame.

neal later on sounds like a good idea. dd and i are working on our own trade as well. you just brought some folks together that aren't usually together. the possiblilites are endless.

Lewisburg, KY(Zone 6a)

I guess we will wait until July to send them, right? LMK

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

bluegrassmom, I was thinking everyone could send rhizomes at the end of June, but I'm flexible with timing. I'm fine with pushing it back a couple of weeks and getting everyone's boxes sent out by the end of July if that works well for everyone.
