Wow! That's warmer than here.
April in Like a Lion Too!
Maybe Belgium moved to Texas? We're certainly having similar weather anyway. :-)
My Charles was off today, too, and the little bunny didn't have school. We've had a lovely lazy day doing a whole lot of nothin' much. It's been very nice!! ^_^

Today's high was 38*F; it's now very close to when there'll more above freezing hours in the day than below.
Nice not to need a coat now; unless it's windy~we saw two teenage girls kinda rushing the season with just tank tops and shorts; 38*, in my mind, is not quite warm enough:))
Loved browsing and catching up~such gorgeous blooms, Adina-beautiful country.
marsue~nice to have free rein w/flower gardens:) Your gdaughter is beautiful.
ric~hope computer is taken care of; sure a bummer when they are tempermental.
kwanjin~how strange~must have been a reason they chose the roof.
It was reported on the news that 2 geese have arrived in Fairbanks~spring is really coming.
Cumulus~sounds great~
Dyson~have a good Monday; work or no.
kelli~did the remote chance of rain happen?
This afternoon my gs played drums for me~
This morning and early afternoon was drizzly and cold. Around 2 or so it became sunny and warm. Go figure!! LOL
55° with a very noticeable lack of sunlight.
Cumulus, it's been 80 in Romania all week, but it's getting chilly now. The temps are 41 this morning, going to 66 at noon. It's cloudy , but I hope it won't rain, I hate rain!
Kiska, you have a drummer , wow!
Sharon, do you have all settled down now?
Mau, such sweet girls...and boy! LOL Love the sunset! The red moon is supposed to be related to vampires, earth's distruction, things like that , which I see in my horror movies!LOL
Kelli, I have that iris too! They are just growing now!
Marylyn, Celia did you have days off due to the Easter ?
I'm at work now , but will have the day off tomorrow. We are celebrating Easter next Sunday, as usual, a week later than yours.
Tomorrow it's the Flowers' Day and we are celebrating all people named with flowers names...besides Jesus' entrance in Jerusalem. We'll go to church and take blessed wheeping tree branches which protects us from the evil if kept hanging at the door.
Adina
Still Dark, though the sky is beginning to show more color, will not be warm enough to paint until noon - so I will try to speed things up with the kerosene heater.
The internet is finally repaired. Someone cut a line at the street. It's going to get hot today so I've got to get inthe yard early then do more work around the house. It will be cooler tomorrow so I'll be able to spend more time outside then.

Need to getting some earth ready to plant.
By the way noticed that the Redbuds are performing their spring dance but I no longer travel the amazing road of them.
Well it appears I'm off to the store.

Sharon, I'm glad your internet is fixed, and Ric, I hope you can get your wires replaced quickly! I hate it when my internet goes down! (Yep.. and very spoiled!)
Adina, yes, my dh was off because of Good Friday yesterday.
Did you get the painting done, Dyson?
What kinds of plants did you order, Celia?

OK I've found out the phone line works better when it's in one piece.
Seems we crushed it in all the moving around we've been doing.
So I went ahead and rewired the computer room... now no more cords to crush.
Once we tear down the ceiling in the LR we're going to rewire the whole house.
AND run all the speaker cords and such up there too.
Thursday was a seriously long day.
Robyn had been up north working on the house since Tues.
I left for work at 6:30 then drove up there at 3:30. The sink was in but no plumbing done.
It was by 8:30 when we left... lol!
No tools though. I thought Robyn had taken my plumbing bag.
so w/ pliers and an 80 year old 8" pipe wrench ... we have water.
They got the LR, Hall, Kitchen and one BR sanded and painted.
The new ceiling looks Great!
But we will NOT let them do any more mudding.
WAY too much mud used and subsequently WAY too much sanding.
Here's the Kitchen. The tile is now done.
All the termite damage under the window repaired and a new ledge put up.
Ric
Ric, those rooms look great!

I can't wait unitl they come! I have th roses coming at the end of the month and these will be here in 2 weeks.
Thanks Celia!
If you need any more Spiderwort let me know.
We have about 10 different ones.
I love them and they are bee and butterfly magnets.
Bought 2 more Hummer feeders today.
At about 3 bucks a piece I consider them annuals....lol!
Not worth cleaning and storing.... get just as many Hummers as our fancy fancy ones.
They'll be going up this weekend.
Ric
Awesome! Thanks, Ric. Do you have yours in the sun or shade?
Ours are in both.
The Sweet Kate (blue flowered version of your Sunshine Charm) does VERY well in full sun.
Other green foliage ones do well in partial to deep shade.
The hardest to grow are the white flowering ones.
Ric
brrr cold 51* here now....high will only be 61* for th day :o( time to turn the heater back on! whoever said that CA is always sunny lied! lol!
DGS came to hunt easter eggs at 6am this morning....way tooo cold out there! had to hold my coffee cup to keep my hands from freezing :o) lol!

Ric

Our house was built in 1929 and never really remodeled since.

Today was another 80F here, looks like were in midsummer. It reminds me to april 2007, which was the warmest month of the whole year. The evening is much cooler now, though.
Southern Spain had only 39F yesterday at noon, so the contrast is huge.
We used to think that such extremes only happen in the USA, but we'll need to reconsider that.
I have planted my bananas and other tropicals in the garden yesterday, so I hope there won't be any frost the upcoming weeks...
wow! you really did a great job! how long did that take you?
we will be pulling out everything...including walls and subfloors and re-wiring, then new sheetrock, hardwood floors, and DH is making all the oak cabinets himself (he loves woodworking! lol!) hoping we at least get walls and floors done before cold fall weather gets here lol!
Thanks!
What you see there is about a year.... but not steady.
The cabs are mostly reused and we had to wait to get enough to do each section.
Weekends and we were doing a Bathroom Remodel and Garage Roof at the same time.
Then gardening got in the way! LOL!
If your DH likes woodworking he must take a look at Bernie's site.
Cumulus you have Bananas out already? WOW!
Ric
do you have a link to bernies site?

We went hiking today in a place that burned in 2007. There are still fire-follower flowers this year and there should be next year also.

Kelli, still am enthralled by your photos. Dove lupine is a treasure of a plant. Just examine it and see its beauty.

Should be about 55° tomorrow for Easter.
Kelli those Fire Followers are gorgeous.
Thanks!
Ric
Thank you, Se_eds and Ric. I often wonder why the plants out here are not used more horticulturally.
