Boojum--In the buff photographed a bit yellow, it's skin colored which is why the name. It's one of Bob Sobek's intros. Note to others: MA person.

I believe In the Buff looks like the pic here. Soil? Camera? Here's another.

I checked the median checklist & its color is 'Spanish Orange' whatever that means. It could certainly be the film.

Seeing everyone's favorites is SO interesting......................................it says a lot for that particular iris. It's like a recommendation in itself.

Anne,........................so you'll trade your 25 year old son for ALL ABOUT SPRING??? Haa- haaaa - - you are so funny! But, you're right - - it is a gorgeous iris. Keep in touch with me and as it multiplies better - - I can share one with you. :-)

Louise, I'm fascinated with ADOBE ROSE. I can't put my finger on it - - but it's crying out to me.

Anita.............Having a bed of irises smell like ripe grapes, yummy! Are those blue beards?

Daylily, I wish I could grow Japanese Iris here. FRECKLED GEISHA is so interesting and so gorgeous! QUEEN CIRCLE is one of my favorites too. I've used it in a couple of crosses. I can't wait to see the results!

Boojum, I've always found DEMI-DEUIL to be unique yet breathtaking. You really ought to add your photo of it to the plant files (due to it being a whole stalk shot)..

I just love seeing everyone's favorites. :-)

I'll do that Margie. Thanks.

Great the picture of the plant really gives more information.

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

I have some purple flags that my mother started in the front yard. Dad never did anything with them and in fact left some in their pots for years and never watered. When I moved back home I took them out and planted them. Last year I dug up and re arranged the bed. I bought some TB last year in a coop. I also bought some Sibs. those died almost immediately. Most of the other iris survived. I'll be adding to my bed later on this year hopefully. If anything ever blooms, other than the flags, I'll post pics.

Looking at everyone's favorite Iris(es), just makes me add to my want list! LOL

They're all beautiful!

I just started planting tall bearded ones in my garden last Fall and I'm drooling over Irises to plant this year. I'm addicted! LOL

Great thread Margie! ;-)

Delirium was the winner of the Sass Medal for IBs in 2007. I often think of cutting back a few daff in front of our stine wall along the road and hearing the brakes screech as cars come to a stop. At our club sales people say they have "the yellow one" ' or "the purple one" we must put up the picture of yellow & purple on the same flower.

Los Alamos, NM(Zone 5a)

Oh my gosh. there are so ,many beauties here that I hardly know where to start. It is nice to see SDB's, Arils, IBs and even spurias and Japanese iris. I have learned that I really like IB's and am hoping to see my first SDBs and Arils bloom in my garden year.
I thought that Spuria was lovely as well. Do you know it's name, daylily?

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

I now need Buster Blyth 2003!!

South Hamilton, MA

Buster hasn't bloomed for us as yet. Nice to see what it looks like. Those standards really are open aren't they.

Where do I find buster?

I love Wild Angel! Gorgeous! I gotta get it this year!

At the AIS convention in 2006 it was pouring at Mid-America Gardens. 'Wild Angel' was at the end of a row and people gathered around it as the rain was literally bouncing off the falls. Substance in irises is wished for (the strength of the petals) and W A substance certainly is at the top of the charts.
