What's blooming today? # 8

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Today is my special needs son's B-day....he's the love of my life and has given me 27 yrs. of joy. His life has not been an easy one and I am thankful to still have him here with me. I believe he was given to me for a reason, he has taught me patience, tolorence and compassion. Lessons some people never learn during their lifetime. I have been truely blessed in more ways than I can count. I am starting this thread with a red flower as that is his favorite color. Happy Birthday Justin...Momma loves you more than you will ever know!

BTW...we came from here. http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/752395/

Showbiz - which is bizzarly making just buds and blossoms on one side and just leaves on the other side - sort of split-personality.

Michaela.....beautiful!!! Lilies are never "anti-climatic" to me!!! I don't have Casa Blanca yet...(suprised?) but I own Siberia which is a later bloomer and large white flowers just like C.B.
I think I need to get CB as it blooms before Siberia and they both smell wonderful! Paramount is another I don't own and it's a lovely pink. Must be stunning beside CB.

Yes - I LOVE oriental lilies. Asian lilies are okay - but lack fragrance.

Casa Blanca is UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! The fragrance is intoxicating. :-)

I love ALL you lilies - but I am partial to Indian Giver and to Touching.

Here is one of my phlox starting to bloom

Victor, you have no idea what you just hit on:
My due date for Justin was Aug. 5th.......his Great Grandfather's B-day was July 31st. I woke up in labor on July 30th. He was born @ 2:02 A.M..."Just-in time for Great Grampy's Birthday" and thats how he got his name. Middle name is Charles after Great Grampy.
