Thanks Louise for starting the new thread for me. I've been away from the house since early this morning and just got home a little while ago.

So glad to see so many people checking in today and knowing when they arrived or are arriving.

Don, please be safe with that precious cargo you have tonight. After you get some much needed sleep, we need the directions to the ranch please.

Donna - we missed you!

Temecula, CA(Zone 8b)

hiya guys,

All of us arrived here very early this morning and everyone else is kind of still passed out. I have yet to sleep but I'm kind of a "Sleep when I'm Dead" kind of guy anyway.....lol. I've been out running the water truck on our road so I can do the grading a little later. That way you all have a very smooth and dust-free trip for your last mile to the ranch. And.........thanks Donna......that reminds me:

Directions and last minute reminders to SoCal's DGRU part III.......

From Interstate 15 guests are directed to exit at the Rancho California Road offramp.

If you are coming up from the south you'll turn right on Rancho California Road, If from the north you'll turn left. This will put you eastbound on Rancho California Road headed into the Temecula Valley Wine Country.

Continue on Rancho California Road for approximately 5 miles until you reach very large and visible signs on the right-hand side of the road that say ANZA ROAD.........

Turn right on Anza Road.

Your second possible left-hand turn will be a well marked dirt road called LOS NOGALES ROAD......

Turn left onto Los Nogales Road

Stay on Los Nogales Road for approximately one mile until you reach the end of Los Nogales Road.

You'll then be at the ranch as it should be right in front of you unless a worm hole opens up and our whole place is sucked into another dimesional plane...... If a worm hole or any other atmospheric anomalies do affect the dimesional plane the ranch has been moved to please use this link.......

hqqp://yyy.HolyCow_Wheredidtheranchgo.com ...........or

EinsteinRosenbridge.com...lol

Now for the other part.

Please do not bring any pets with you that have less than six legs. And if your dog or cat or pet aardvark have six legs or more please do bring them as I am a scientist with a keen sense of curiosity for such biological oddities.......And no more giraffes! I just don't have the space for any more......

best to all and please travel safely!!!!
don

P.S.......Rusty56/Anna...........you again this year!! And thanks for keeping the countdown going....

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Good morning our well traveled host,

Glad you are all back safe and sound and can't wait to hear about your trip. I hope you do get some well needed sleep soon.

Lots of big hugs to all,
Donna

Jasper Co., MO(Zone 6b)

If I can butt in here, drdon...

For those who have not been to the ranch before, drive slowly on Los Nogales Road. You'll enjoy the view and the neighbors will appreciate it, too!

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Kathleen, you mean "watch out' for the little bunnies? Yep there are hundreds living along that road.

Off to the Tustin Historical Home and Garden Tour for the day...see ya'll later

Donna

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

I also put the wrong date on this thread...Dave, help!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

What time is the ru?

Jasper Co., MO(Zone 6b)

I think it start at 10 am....

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Well, I got a shaky start. Missed my 5 AM plane out of Fort Dodge. . . by 5 minutes.

Drove the 20 miles back to the lake and went back to bed. DH wakes up and says, "What are you doing here?". LOL

Went to the Post Office and asked to pick up my mail . . . .Uh Oh . . . A box with $120.00 worth of mini hostas! I scurried home and got them in the ground in plenty of time to head back the 20 miles to the airport to catch a later plane.

Some things are just mean't to be. Had I not missed my plane DH would probably have let my bare root hostas die during my week's absence.

So I am sitting here in Minneapolis waiting for the next leg of my trip into John Wayne Airport. I will arrive at 7 in the evening and after a good nights sleep . . . be ready to shop with you tomorrow, Donna.

This is not unusual for me . . . last month on my return from O.C. I went to the airport one day early. It cost me $40 to take a cab back to Orange. My daughter works across the street from the airport and said, Why didn't you call me? I said I had already put her out enough to take me to the airport two days in a row.

But it also gave me a much needed extra day to work in the garden at the Meadowbrook house.

LOL! What a story Arlene!

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

Just call me "Goofy"

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Goofy Arlene! You couldn't be more cuter though! Happy trails and have a safe flight, the weather here is gorgeous, nights are a little chilly. Dress warm at night.

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

I am at the mercy of the clothes I have at Meadowbrook; I don't usually pack any clothes. In Iowa I mostly dress grungy. . . is that a word? My better clothes are in OC. No need for them in Iowa because I don't go anywhere. If I am really desperate, I can always borrow a coat from one of my daughters.

Well, I better shut down and get to my gate . . . don't want to miss that flight too or I'll be spending the night in Minne.

See you all very soon!

Edited to stay on topic . . .

Have a safe flight to come California!

Rosamond, CA(Zone 8b)

Gosh that sounds so much like me, I feel so much better. Thanks, sorry about your day but mine has just gotten a bit better hearing your plight. I have pms too. Watchale as the cholos say. My dh is going to start shopping for a nursing home for my nutrasweet alzheimers soon if I don`t get it together.

God is great.

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

Donna ,

Oh, yeah, the bunnies and the wildflowers and the birds and all. But it's nice to keep the dust down for the neighbors, too. :-)

San Diego, CA(Zone 10a)

Well, Jo and I had a great day. We got everything on her shopping list except for ice cube trays. There seems to be a shortage here in San Diego for some reason. Four stores and still not an ice cube making device be found.

We went to Ocean Beach to Hodad's for burgers. I will let Jo tell you how she entertained the local beach boys. She is a BAAAAAADDDDDD girl.

Fiona just flitted through and says Hi to all.
See you very soon.

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Did you have to wait an hour for lunch? There's usually such a line. Bet you had a goooood day.

Frogs - what kind of ice cube trays? Are they something special? We have two packages never used, still shrink wrapped, each with two trays sitting in our cat thrift store donation box. One package is Rubbermaid, the other is Sterilite. Just common old plastic twistable ice cube trays. Don't use them anymore with an ice maker. If this is what you are looking for I can throw them in the car tomorrow. LMK. Harold

What time for sure is this shindig??????

Crossville, TN

GOOOOOOOOD MORNING SAN DIEGO!!!!!

Yes....Janice and I had a great time.........I like to give young people a story to take home and laugh about.....so I asked this guy sitting in the window of the hamburger place to take our picture out on the street....my arm around Janice. After he had to set the date (or something) on my camera so the lens would emerge from it's recessed place...he was able to take the picture.

I told him we had met and fell in love on the internet. We sat in a booth made out of the front end of an old VW ....with surf boards on top....another picture....I'll try to down load them later.

Harold....Thanks for the offer....but I suppose Amy will have her ice maker repaired soon....she just moved to a new location and is still having to work out kinks.

I got one of the Sopapilla Cheese cakes made last night while Amy had to be gone to something...and will make another today....

Looking forward to tomorrow. Jo

Jasper Co., MO(Zone 6b)

1 more day!

Crossville, TN

Hey Anna....I made a Lemon at your request! Jo

Jasper Co., MO(Zone 6b)

Oh! Thanks! Jo...

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I have a feeling this is going to be the RU to end all RU's !!! LOL

At some point tomorrow, I think we should have a moment of silence to remember poor "Eunice" who gave her "all" for last years RU !!!!!!!

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

Spending my morning baking pies - DH would never forgive me if I didn't make some for home, too! Mom was pleased to hear I'm making her pies for the party.

Jo, I'm drooling over that cheesecake already!

Kathleen
