My lily show is under way!

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

Thanks Pard, I'd very much like to see your pics. I'm very pleased with Orania; it has shown exceptional vigor and strength so far.

A few pretties from my garden yesterday. I love this yellow - anyone know what it is?

And another one from the mini-coop from woodenshoe. The color in the picture isn't
quite right - its got a deeper melon color in real life. I love it! Its almost too short amongth
the alllium scensis I've planted it amongst though.

And last for this morning... the only of the five of these the deer didn't chomp down!

Gorgeous sunny yellow and gold one Tammy! I'm sure I've seen that in catalogs before-I'll keep my eyes open. I really like Sefanja too; it's the shortest of the ones we got from Wooden Shoe for me, but I've been amazed by the height and bloom count of all the others. I hope to do a bigger coop with them next spring and start earlier while supplies are good. Do you know what the pink one is? I like the way the blooms fade to paler pink.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 2b)

Maybe yellow one is Dreamland, seeing that I have a floating garden of yellows right beside me as I type including Dreamland.

inanda, you're teasing us, lol. Can we see a pic? Your floating garden of yellows sounds lovely.

Beautiful, luminous pic Sterhill!

More Orania are open, and I love them in a grouping.

I think this is 'Cavalese', a LAhybrid. Any of you growing it that can confirm?

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

This is LA hybrid, 'Jet Stream'. I love the shape of the blooms.

If they open more, they look spidery.

OT, 'Leslie Woodriff' is putting on a show.

OT, 'Silk Road' is awsome.

'Oscar' is my first Oriental to bloom. The blooms are small for an Oriental, but this is his first year, so I don't know if that's typical. Great saturated color, though.

Nice, Gemini!

Thanks Diann! Every morning is such fun to see what new ones are open.

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

I don't get out to mine till evening. But it's always nice to come home and discover who has decided to show their lovely face today. :) *sigh* now I want to skip work and go home and play in the gardens... Oh well, I want to do that most days. :) Please keep the pictures coming! :)

gem--just found this great thread with all you pics! you have quite a fabulous lily collection and I can't wait to see what you post tomorrow!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Where did you get the Jet Stream? I really like that shape.

Susan

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

Thanks t! The OTs are my favorites and this is the time for them. 'Shocking' and 'Red Hot' are just opening this morning, so heady fragrance is starting to fill the air :)

Susan, Jet Stream came from Wooden Shoe Bulb Farm. They were some of the best quality bulbs I've seen, and most of them got taller and had more blooms than typical first year lilies. They sell in lots of 25 of each variety for fantastic prices, averaging 75 cents per bulb. 5 of us did a mini coop to try them out, and each got 5 each of 5 varieties. I'm so happy with them I hope to do a bigger coop next spring.

And your show keeps on coming eh Neal! Gorgeous!!!

I'm gonna have to get my camera out - I have some new blooms to share.

Anyone know this one? Its just wonderful! I can't find anything at Van Engelen that matches it
and that's where I got most of my lilies, except those from Wooden Shoe. Hmmm???

And a close up.

Those are beautiful Tammy! Those look like pics I've seen of the longiflorum (Easter Lily) that I think is called Pink Elegance. It's much prettier in your garden than the close up pics in the catalogs.

Arlington, TX(Zone 7b)

oh man, my lily bareroots are still at the lily garden; they won't delivered till November :-o((

Great lilies everyone!! Hopefully I'll get some next year.

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

dehart, what ya got comin'? They have good bulbs, you'll definitely have blooms to share next year :)

somewhere, PA

Thanks Neal. I just can't figure out where i got them! I'll have to actually look at year's past orders.
It was not on my 2005 spreadsheet but I didn't put 2004 or 2002 in one.

We've been really fortunate here this year, and have been having good rainfall. Strangely, the some of the surrounding counties have been very dry. But, it finally stoped raining, and I got a few more pics of more beauties that have opened. Here is 'Red Hot':

This is 'Shocking', that went missing last year and mysteriously reapeared this year.

I have Red Hot on my shopping list for this fall! I have a pad I jot down names on as I see
them here. I'm so glad to be reminded why I put down Red Hot!

I'm dreadfully afraid my one and only of this beauty is virused. What do any of you think about this 'American West'?

I'm also finding it strange that in it's 2nd year, it once again has only 1 bloom. Hmmmm.

Thumbnail by gemini_sage
Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

Tammy, you'll love it. The color is so strangely beautiful, like I find many of the OTs. It's subtle and pastel, yet wonderful with oranges, reds, and golds. It's my transition flower by the path, so that there's not a shocking contrast from the right side, which is reds, oranges, and golds, and the left side which is pinks.

I'm looking for another spot to use some with something blue. Ooohh, something like your mostly blue garden with 'Red Hot' through it!

Columbia Heights, MN(Zone 4a)

Neal, it really doesn't look splotchy like most virused blooms. I think that may be just the way they look. I'm not real happy with that series. At least in my garden, they don't appear as attractive as in the catalogs.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

It looks just fine. Just like mine. Here is a nice gaudy pair-- American West with Altari.
