Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

You just idolize me!

Yes, I was busy. I just came back from having my hair highlighted too! Now I'm packing a bag and going to my brother's house. He had sugery on his shoulder yesterday and my mission is to keep the family occupied so he can maintain his sanity. Boy - will he owe me for that!

I'll check in on you guys later - if my nieces let me..

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Am I that obvious?

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Anita,
Hey you have a few Rudbeckia's I don't have. T&M finally sent me a catalog that has some of those, pretty well out of room for this year. I do have some old Cherokee Sunset seeds to try this year also.

But who's going to maintain my sanity?

BTW you guys can trash me in AV I never go there.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Does anyone know what this tool is called?
I've been using it for weeding for years. It's the best.

Andy,
I don't know what that is called. I know I used one when I was young. I could look when I'm at the hardware store if no one else can tell you.

BTW - I asked this somewhere else already - are the boxes for the forums watched bigger for you, I watch 11 forums and have to scroll way down to see them all. Should I only watch this forum instead?
(slow one down the middle for ya Dave)

Where's Anita's new hairdo pics at?

West Warwick, RI(Zone 6b)

LOL! Al, I was hoping for a look at her hair doo too! What a bunch of nooz bags!

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

It's a nice day, everyone is out.
Sarah and I just got back from our walk. A bit blustery but not bad.
BTW, if I'm absent for a few days, it's because the battery on this old used laptop is failing. It may be another 5 or 6 days before the new one comes in.
I can only get 10 minutes at the most out of it now so it has to stay plugged in. Sometimes it just shuts off and resists coming back up.
Al, we'll see if anyone knows what that weeder is really called. I can wait. When go shopping, it's with a list and I don't wander around (or remember to look for this thing). Quick in and out.

Andy
That tool goes by the name of "Hula Hoe". Dena has them over there at Home Depot in the garden tool section. I've had one for years and it's the best tool to have in the garden. When it gets a little dull just take a file to both sides of the blade and it's like brand new again.

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks Mitt. Hula Hoe, who would'a guessed?
It certainly is the best weeding tool there is.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

What's a weed?
I do grow ornamental lambsquarter and 'tequilla sunrise' oxalis randomly.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Man this pots gone empty, I'll have to get nap in here for someone to pick on.
Since Anita doesn't want to show her new gray covering doo I'll show you mine from today.

OK seriously it's not me
Hey Andy - I saw an ad for your hoe calling it a 'stirrup hoe'

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Could each manufacturer have it's own name for the thing?
The tool is an old design.
Andy P

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

that would be a good guess, unless you know what brand and what name go together. I'm sure you'll find one by the garden tools.
Dena is a garden tool!

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Al, I see the top 12 'Watched Forums" if there are no 'watched threads' showing.
Does that answer anything?
Andy P

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

No those come up in the same sized boxes. I didn't know if they changed the margins and squished that box fatter. I'm living with it - just wondered if it was me.
(dave you are sleeping on these pitches)

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Trying to catch up. I was gonna say stirrup hoe too. Hula or stirrup its a great hoe. Aren't the round ones called oscillating hoes?

Al, Sure just stick with this forum. We'll tell you if miss anything worthwhile on another forum.

I was gonna start some seeds indoors today (plants that could go out April 15) But in a week I'll be gone for a week and I don't want them to get messed up or dried out. I guess I'll wait for the end of March.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

My "watched forums" look the same to me. Al, did you get a bigger monitor??

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Must be me, when I look at that line the 'PM' is now on a bottom row. It's alright we can move on.
Dave you can put plants out 4/15 - sweet!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Cold crops, perennials, some hardier annuals.

Most stuff has to wait till May 15. But I do put tomatoes out in wall-o-waters around 4/15. Those things really work.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

O I've seen those. Really 5/1 is pushing it here. I'll start my dahlia and bulbs out in pots on my porch and move them out around then. I'll do some direct seeding around then also. Average last frost is 5/15 or so.

West Warwick, RI(Zone 6b)

Who is oscillating hoes?
isn't that illegal?

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Hey you must be off the hangover shift?

West Warwick, RI(Zone 6b)
