sik the cat on him Anita....
Coffee 3/2/2006
getting faster, there goes the spelling tho - minus style points
Al, how many times do you need to be told, I don't type good and my speak isn't much better, and just ferget the spellin thing altogether!
just grunt than I guess.
I can however out run, out dig, and out smart you in every other way.
Yadda yadda yadda
actually you could out dig me that's fine.
ok I'm kidding!
I think your great!
I wouldn't give you six million dollar gardener, maybe two...
I think your son is cute and his car came out awsome!
Did you win?
OK weiner I'll give you a little chit chat before I go to bed
My son finished about in the middle of the pack in his races today with his car I didn't think would stay on the track, my car in the other races did awful only beating like 1 car out of 30.
yeah but look at that smile!
He looks like he had fun trying!
The funniest story of the day was the final race for the troop winner - the kid got to choose which lane he wanted for the final time and he picked the lane that was obviously slower all day - even with everyone telling him to take the other one - and he lost.!
My son had a fun time tho.
My wife and daughter of course after seeing my pathetic car want in on the action next year.
and you got to do it together!
Thats very cool, and he will remember it always.
alright, go to bed...old men need to get their rest...
ok - see you in the morning - goodnight offline Andy!
well, I tucked in all my friends.....time to see what else is going on here at DG.
No. I'm back. Was just checking out a little SNL.
You can dig in my front yard. Watch out for the quicksand.
Dena, What else do you like reading beside Jane Austen?
Anita, How were your neices?
Al, Great job with the pine derby or whatever its called. Looks like a great father- son time. I'm not 44.
Oh hey! Hi Dave (not sleeping)!
I like to read Anne McCaffrey The Dragons of Pern
Steven King is another fav
I don't know McCaffrey but I've heard of that King guy. I hear he has a lot of potential.
poems by Robert Herrick
Rudyard Kiplings Jungle books
James Herriot All Things (All of the books)
Don't know Herrick either, but then again, I haven't read poetry in a long time. Sounds like an unusual mix Austin, Kipling. King, Herriot, poetry, fantasy (I think). Do your interests go all over?
My favorites were John Irving, Pat Conroy but they seem to have run dry.John Knowles. Mostly your basic novels. Except: I don't think he's a great writer but I loved Dan Brown's books (Da Vinci Code, etc) I love the Harry Potter books.
Then its more books than authors To Kill A Mockingbird, Catch 22,
I love to read.
I'll read whatever you put in front of me.
In high school one of my teachers jokingly told me to read War and Peace, because he would give me a book and tell me to ONLY read the chapters we were told to read and I'd kill the book off in one sitting. I read War & Peace, and did a report on it. I have to admit it took me a month and a half to read the entire book....ugh!
I read Clan of the Cave Bear, in my spare time, in middle school. LOL
I used to read more as a kid. I think I read all John Steinbeck's books in junior high.
Morning all,
thought I was going to have to dump that pot out for a while there yesterday.
We have some snow coming and then warmer weather this week so we'll see
well - I definitely did not get worm today! I never sleep this late!!
Lookie here, My first flower of the new season.
A super early crocus. About 1 inch wide.
This used to be a flower border along the sidewalk, if we had a sidewalk. My lawn trees grew so much that the bed got too shady so I removed all the worthwhile stuff and planted grass seed. Some bulbs were hiding.
These little guys are so early they bloom under the winter mulch. No mulch on the lawn, so here it is saying "It's Spring".
Andy P
Congratulations Andy.
I have nothing up yet. Even my hellebores aren't budging.
Uconn Women are ahead. I'm following the play-by-play while I check out Dave's.
To anyone outside of CT, this is an extremely rare occurance for Uconn Women's baketball not to have the game televised. Kind of cool that the sports mania extends itself to women's basketball.
Thanks for the tease Andy. Sadly, like Dave, nothing is giving way signs of spring. I actually feel abit relieved that Dave's Helleborus isn't doing anything since mine isn't either. This is it's first winter in my garden so I'm sure what to expect.
Mind if I play through? Al thinks I lurk here, for some reason.... I will admit to reading through a coffee thread here once, and I'm doing the same today.
The reason I haven't joined in is simply a matter of time. I don't have as much of it as I wish I did. And there's so much good stuff to read on this website. So I just stopped in to say hello, and tell you all that you're an interesting bunch.
Anita, I was at the supermarket today and they had little pots of African Violets for $3.99, but they looked in sad condition so I didn't buy one.
It's late...yes, my NAPtime...so I'll say goobye.
Bye all. (Bye Al)
Nap! Welcome to the Northeast - you should move here someday.
Got the Dena shift tonight as I am heading out to plow 5" of winter wonderland.
Anita - get the kids to bed early tonight.
Well - I've finished watching the Oscars - Dave, your friend did a good job hosting!
Nancy, you are welcome anytime to 'play through'. We try to keep Al tame - I know he loves pullin' your chain! Just keep reminding him that stripes are sliming.
Al - better you than me! I don't want anymore snow. As a matter of fact - I don't want the stuff we still have!
Night all - catch you on the other side of midnite!
Another nice day. The sparrows are busy singing. I still wish it were the weekend. Do you think we could make it Federal law that weekends are 3 days instead of 2?
Good morning Anita!
The Oscars were not Jon Stewert's best work/ format. I thought he got a little better as the night went on. Anita, were you doing research for future trivia?
Dena. Anita made a funny typo! Those must be ghost stripes!
??? What typo?? I've reread that post a couple of times.
Am I late for class?
Lousy winter - supposed to warm up now(you know 40's).
Good to see Anita up and ready for school
stripes are sliming...slimming
Hey Al - how late did you plow? Is the plowing part of your regular work duties or extra money?
LOL - ghost busters....I'm talented - I'm funny when I'm not even trying!
I plowed 10-6, yeah it's pretty much a regular winter type thing for me. Usually I see something funny - not really today, sure were a lot of people up and about all night. Not extra money, but I do get paid more on the weekends(come on 6 figures a year!)
Dave - what's this?
What a nic break from the Winter doldrums.
OMG Dena is in trouble if she stumbles in here today
