Look What's Up! part 2

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Yes, it's all your guys fault you know. I never had lilies before I joined DG!

Yep, Tazzy, I'll get started on that right away, but I will be filling it in with daylilies this time! lol

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

what ever rings your flower bell . i want all of everything

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

I want all of everything, too. I have bought a few things from wally world this week. I know, I know, .... they aren't the best place to buy from, but I am there and so are these plants and bulbs and they talk to me when I walk by... and I just can't leave them alone on the shelf when all they want is to come home with me and reside in my yard in the dirt... poor lil things.... sniff...

anyway, Miss Bateman (clematis) and Hollyhocks, and 2 more iris.. (Mother Earth and Night Edition) have taken up residence in my little beds.... (big grins here)

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Well Starr, if you want to know the truth, I bought 4 baby Clematis at Costco about a month ago. One of them died, but that was my fault. Here is a pic of two of them.....not so bad for a Costco purchase. These were taken on March 17th.

i have the same prob. at wall mart with perennials which for me, means it dies on the trip home /

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Nice, Mendy... they look good! ok, now I don't feel so bad if y'all buying the cheaper things, too...

Tazzy, Yes, it says it is a rebloomer... and hopefully it will be happy here... if it is not, then I will not buy it again (lil ingrate)...lol... do yours commit suicide on the way home, Taz? now that is b a d ...

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

perennials hate me > and I don't know why ?

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Wrong perennials or do they get jealous because you favor iris????

I traded for iris & daylilies Clematis all over DG last spring. Now I have Clematis popping up by my fences. this should be interesting . Quite a variation in colors , from the looks of them.

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

I bought a lot of clemits on E bay one has Varigated leaves .
so far have not killed them ?

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

I killed 6 daylilies this winter and a couple of new perennials.I think I'll be "Tazzy" when I grow up....

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

Wanda way to go!
the only true perennial i grow is weed . blow torch wont kill .

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

ALL MY TROPICALS ARE OUT WE ARE
TO SICK WITH FLU TO EVEN TRY TO BRING IN OR COVER
Well the good Lord gives and takes away .
never can i remember a freeze this late ?

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Loreto! It's one of my favorites! Not many other flowers can beat it when it comes to screaming across the yard for attention.

Poor little clematis. Tazzy I'm sorry to hear y'all are down again and under the weather....literally this time. Wish I could get there and give you a hand bringing the babies in, but you're right.....He giveth and He taketh. You always seem to give the right perspective on things at exactly the right time. Wish I could give you a big ole hug right now.

We're suppose to get the freeze too. I brought in 3 flats of perennials that came yesterday from Bluestone that aren't planted yet. Too darned cold to be out there planting because of that howling wind.

Do let us know how you and the plants fare through this cold spell. Least we're not where Dori is and getting blizzard warnings tonight. Poor gal.

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

Weird times all over the world ?
I am in bed with lap top and electric blanket ,set on fry !
So heres hoping we all make it through this freak weather
to plant again and again?

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

We had some great weather this week so I got started digging out the ditch lily in my back yard....dug a great big hole and was planning to fill it with good soil. It started raining last night and rained all day today. My kids went out back and were so happy cuz they thought I was digging them a swimming pool.....that's what it looks like now with all the rain we've had.

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

We are having some record lows as well... I didnt know what to bring in and what to leave out so I just guessed and we will see what happens... Hope you are feeling much better tonight, Taz... I have a bunch of lilies that are trying to bud up... and some iris, too, I hope this weather doesnt kill them all.... Tazzy, you set us all such a good example... I just wanted to whine about it, but now i am trying to be upbeat and just see what makes it.... :))

Also waving hello to Wanda, Bennie, and Mendy....

So glad you are home safe, Wanda....

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Waving hello back, Starr! I just IM'd you...are you on tonight?

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

Well my thermometer on the deck says we got down to 33.3° but that was on a covered deck and the local high school shows 31°. Need to get out there and see what's what.

Tazzy - I did have some buds on my TB iris at the old house on Friday, do you think the buds will be damaged at low 30's or will they bloom ok?

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

they will bloom but may be pincthed or small or not open at all / only God knows ?

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

Starr, I have decided that you have waaaaayyyy too many rocks......I think you need to ship them to me! I would love to not have to go buy them when I want them! I'm sooooo jealous! Oh and your new bed looks wonderful!

Wow, Brenda! You have that much coming up already?! You are wonder woman! You haven't even been in your new place very long! If it was me I probably wouldn't even have all my boxes unpacked yet! LOL
