Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Hi girls! It has been a beautiful day here, too. I think it was 74 at the highest. I've spent most of the day cleaning out dead stuff. I had a wheel barrel piled higher than my head so had to get DH to drive the wheel barrel and dump it. Tazzy, how is Twyla?

Cape Cod, MA(Zone 7a)

I'd fling mudballs at y'all but my mud is frozen!
Tazzy you are a hoot. You remind me of my sister. Her name was Patty, too :)
:) Her finger got sore when she rode shotgun with me!
It's okay, I think all your rain is coming this way. Maybe it'll warm up.
I have baby daylillies sprouting in the vegetable drawer. Can't wait to pot 'em up!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Huh?? Gee, and I thought it was a balmy 44° today.

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Hi Moby! Yeah, it was great today, but during July and August, when your garden is flourishing under a beautiful, deep blue sky, we are turning into crispy critters, watering like crazy to keep everything alive, and instead of a blue sky, we see bright heat waves!

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

It got up to 51° here today....we had rain, hail, and then beautiful sunshine.

Yes, Tazzy I am flinging tar and feathers at you! I have a pretty good arm too so ya better look out! :-P lol

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

ouch ,you got me ! suppose to be in 70° tomorrow too .
have doctors test tomorrow hope i pass, you know you are getting old when the high part of Valentine's day is getting pap smear LOL

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Oh Tazzy, I'm so sorry you have to celebrate it that way....YUCK! I take back the tar and feathers! lol!

Plano, TX(Zone 8a)

Just heard the weather. We're supposed to be 80 tomorrow but then down to 35 Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Really plays havoc on my plants!

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

We have had rain for 3 days! They say it will get up to 67° tomorrow and partly cloudy!! yipeee, we having a heat wave...

Terrie, we have been having strange highs and lows like that, too. It will get up to 40 or 50 and then drop right down into single digits and the teens... This has been really wierd weather this winter. We have had a very wet and cold winter, but no real snow this year... strange...

Tazzy, sorry you gotta go through that tomorrow, they must have a wierd humor to schedule it on VDay...

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO ALL!! :)

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Well I know it's later where you guys are but it's only 9 on the west coast and I've just finished reading the old thread.
Starr you have a royal collection of things that are probably all gonna bloom their heads off for you. I copied the list so I could read it over.

[/monte negro, red spider, sammy russell, stella de oro, hudson valley, halls pink, tiger eye iris, crocus, and hyacinth in this bed.

In a raised bed, next to the patio, I have more iris and some lilies... I have some minature and dwarf iris, dutch iris, Jitterbug, my grandmas iris, donna's iris, red tite, debutante, fellowship/]

Doesn't that all just sound glorious. Wow - wish I'd been that industrious.

Today was another fun, tee shirt day here in Cal and I ended up with what I call 'big hair' - whenever I'm where there's humidity I suddenly acquire a bushel basket of hair - all over the place. Just more subtraction gardening, but what an improvement that makes. ;-) ~Blooms

And here are some V-Day flowers for everyone ~
hope you all have a wonderful day!

Aaawwwww! Thanks, Moby, those will be the only flowers I get for valentine's day... and they are just lovely.. I am copying them to put on my pc to enjoy tomorrow!!

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

I am enjoying them now! They look beautiful on my screen... ;)

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Good for you! You know, there's nothing wrong with picking some up for yourself. If it's been a little sparce around here, I get some for myself and remind DH that "girls NEED flowers". In all innocence, of course ~

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Even Google has roses and a bow on their name.
Happy Valentine's Day All - what a pretty bouquet, and you are right - they are available right in the grocery store. Well some grocery stores.

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Great idea... I might just do that... I have to go to town tomorrow, anyway!

Hi Blooms...

Did y'all know that Twyla is not doing good tonight? There is an update on the prayer forum....

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Have to show off mine too. These were my oldest DS's idea when DH took them grocery shopping while I was studying.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Yes he is! Every time DH take them anywhere that sells flowers he asks if they can get me some. Gotta love him!

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

yup! very sweet!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Where has our Ms. President Tazzy gone to? Think maybe she's been swept up in the romance of the holiday??

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

I think she got swept up in the "romance" of a stomach virus!

Sand Springs, OK(Zone 7a)

REALLY WOE !!

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Busy helping with Twyla too. Energy runs out eventually.
Mine is running out too, almost book/bed time. All that fresh outdoor air.

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Hope you are better by tomorrow, Taz...

Moby, I am still enjoying your flowers on my pc... I hate to take them off... lol...

Hi Blooms and Mendy!

We had a glorious day here... Lovely breezy day about 70 ... I raked all the leaves off my beds... and ... WA LA things are coming up everywhere!! I am so excited... can't wait for spring...

hmmm, will these guys be ok since I took all the leaves off? I am sure we will drop back down to cold weather again before it is done for the year... maybe I should not have taken the leaves off.. but they were like 2' deep on the beds and all soggy underneath... so I thought the beds would like to dry out a bit under that warm sun today..

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

I was afraid to remove mine just yet...but they weren't that deep and soggy either. We have been waking up to thick frost every morning for the last week or so. I was beginning to think it was going to kill my daffodils, but I think they are going to make it after all.

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

My daffodils seem to thrive no matter the weather does to them.. but now I have raker's remorse... I am worried all those new lil things sticking up could get their heads bit off by the frostman...

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

hurry....go cover them up again!

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

You know.. I was thinking that I would tomorrow.. but I raked that pile of leaves way away... and downhill a bit... I think I will start a new thread and post the pics.. then you can see what I am talking about... those beds are really wet... decisions, decisions... and everybody went to bed on us.... I think we are the only nightowls up tonight... the rest of the CLC is sawing logs... ;)

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Yeah I think so....Tazzy's sick and Moby told me she was headed to bed. I am avoiding studying for a Biology test. I can do it tomorrow morning....class isn't till 2pm anyway! Can we say "procrastination"? LOL!

I would love to see the pics!
