These iris on-line websites for 2005 are up

Oro Valley, AZ(Zone 9a)

Maybe, it would be a good idea................ that as the *2005* on-line catalogs become up and running for this year, we post the links right HERE. So anytime, any one of us wish to go to a *current 2005 * iris nursery/business ....................... we'll know which ones are "NOW OPEN FOR BUSINESS".

So, when any one of you - - find another one "open for business for 2005" - - won't you let us all know? :-) I know of these:

Iris City Gardens

Impressive Irises (in Australia)

Fred Kerr's Iris "Rainbow acres"

(And it looks as if........Nicholl's is too)

Nicholl's Garden
http://www.nichollsgardens.com/

Oro Valley, AZ(Zone 9a)

Here is another one, that just opened for business for 2005.

Iris Colorado
http://www.iriscolorado.com/

Oro Valley, AZ(Zone 9a)

Here is another one opened for business for 2004-2005. It's one that is located in Australia. *Note: If a couple of people got together to buy irises from Australia, then the shipping is also divided. That way the shipping is not as expensive -as if you were to go it alone.

Oh my! Have you seen those two broken color MTBs (table irises) and that adorable arilmed on Lowell's site (Iris Colorado)? If I could pry my wallet open enough to afford new intros, those would be the three I'd want!

Laurie

Oro Valley, AZ(Zone 9a)

Those * are * real beauties Laurie!!! But, If I could "pry my wallet open" (as you say) :-) I'd go after the luminatas!! He's doing some GREAT work, isn't he?

Moerkerke_Damme, Belgium(Zone 7b)

Great Margie for the info!!! I left a note to you here: http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/479933/
whenever you get the time for it will do. :)

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

I was looking at Iris Colorado and now I have a dumb question please. What does "Table Iris" mean? That Bach Fugue is realy neat! THanks for the links. :)

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

dont forget to check this one out!

Deer River, MN(Zone 3b)

"Table iris" is a phrase sometimes used to describe the miniature tall beardeds (MTB). It refers to the fact that MTBs are frequently used in tabletop floral arrangements because of their smaller dimensions.

Argyle Acres emailed me this morning saying they are up dated!
http://www.argyleacres.com

I noticed that 13 of the 20, that I picked from the 2004 catalog aren't in the 2005. Also some $4 ones are now $5.

hmn....thank you all. is there a CO-OP happening?

Oro Valley, AZ(Zone 9a)

Moonglow, the Co-op I believe is still happening, but later in the summer months I believe. Meanwhile, and until that happens, on this thread we are posting all of the newly opened 2005 iris websites that are up and running, and ready to take orders. So we can grow our "wishlist" even longer! (slight giggle)

**Another Iris Website is up for 2005 and ready to do business: (Did I hear a "yippeeeeee"?) (big grin)

(Their prices look pretty decent. I've never ordered from them, but maybe they are rated at Daves " Garden Watchdog". (See tab above)

This was edited to say "Thanks Bonnie" for the Heads up concerning Argle Acres being opened for 2005 business!!

i better save my "allowance" to get tall bearded beauties! margie, as soon as bonnie posted ARGYLE ACRES, i browsed, printed their order form and filled it out. been chanting....self control, self control....this is not easy at all.

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Welcome to DG Moonglow....consider yourself "infected." LOL!!!

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

Yes, Moonglow, don't spend all your pennies in one place. Or do if you want. It's pretty overwhelming when you start looking at all the possibilities. It's all eye candy!

Corte Madera, CA

i promised i'll finish planting these asiatic lilies first before i get irises.

=)

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

Think that you can get them all in before next August? (LOL)

Corte Madera, CA

August? You mean TONIGHT? I ran out of pots. I need to do a Home Depot run.

=)

Farmington, ME(Zone 4b)

Moonglow if you get that self control to work let me know! I sure could use it about now! Every site seem to have one I was looking for and another dozen I WANT! No room to put that many more!

Arden (Asheville), NC(Zone 7a)

Another to look at is Vincent Christopherson's first attempt at flying on his own. In addition to his luminatas, space agers and others on the Argyle list, he has a selection of intros and others on his own new venture. The on-line site is still a work-in-progress, but you can get a good idea where he's headed at:

Here I am with 18 iris colors out in my garage--a gift from a friend --and you tempt me with more???? How can you do this when I'm deep into daylily spiders????

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

Napa Iris Garden's web site says that they will be open in a couple of weeks. They seem to have a special on their 2004 introductions but I've written to clarify.
http://www.napairis.com/

Corte Madera, CA

Napa, did you say Napa??? I am in so much trouble. I live so close......so close...

When's our fieldtrip?

=)))

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

I said Napa. I'd love a field trip any old time - but I can't travel due to my health. So I just cyber cruise. It's the pits! I want to go to Nola's too - it's in San Jose. And I want to go to the reopened conservatory in San Francisco - i have a watercolor of it in my bedroom. I want I want I want. But then I'm a lot better than I used to be. Maybe someday?

Napa Iris said that they would email me when they are open. They also said that since the 2004 introductions were going to be less, the buying plan for the new 2004 Iris didn't make any sense. I'll keep you all up to date. Their website is a little hard to use now because any sold out iris from last year has had it's enlargement removed. The thumbnails are small.

Oro Valley, AZ(Zone 9a)

Neil, I'm glad to see you posted that new Garden site of Christophersons. I for one can't wait until it's finished. :-) He does great work with those irises.

Note: * I've just heard that Keith Keppels catalog (he has no website) is back from the printers, and will be mailed out soon, possibly starting this coming week. If you want one, e-mail him at:
plicataman@earthlink.net

Also, * Superstition Iris said their catalog will be ready to mail in late February. If you want one, e-mail Roger or Rick at:
randrcv@sierratel.com

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

Where did Neil post this Garden site? Or could you oblige. Did I miss something?

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

I'm definitely bookmarking this thread. Thanks!

Oro Valley, AZ(Zone 9a)

Doss, check six up from your post, just above Wandasflowers (on Jan. 29th) - - you'll find Neils post concerning that link to Christopherson's new website Accent iris Gardens. :-)

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks - I'll check it out! I tell you I couldn't see even with my glasses.

Philadelphia, PA

I received my Keppel catalog today. Has anyone bought from them before?

Mit

Oro Valley, AZ(Zone 9a)

Mit. I have!! I have done so for about 10 years now. And will this year too! Nice large, healthy, freshly dug rhizomes. He also sends extras too. Always true to name - highly recommended!!

~Margie

Philadelphia, PA

Thanks Margie.
I'll have to get working on my list. Just glancing at his catalog I see a few of the Blyth irises that will probably find a new home in Philadelphia. As well as some of Keith Keppels. I want to get some of the newer ones and try my hand with crossing them. :-)

Mit

Oro Valley, AZ(Zone 9a)

Oh Mitt, You'll have so much fun crossing them!!! I'm happy for you - - just thinking about the joy it'll bring you!

~Margie

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

And you WILL let us see your babies, right? I'm fascinated by the different iris colors that are being bred now.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Neil, where is Vincent's gardens located? You're right, it is a work in progress. I can't even e-mail him with a question. But his iris are beautiful and I wish him luck.
My daughter is raising some iris and selling to landscapers. I hope one day she has a larger commercial operation.

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

Hi! I just noticed that Schreiner's has their 2005 bonus iris introductions on their website. So you have to buy a lot at Schreiners to get them, they are still fun to look at.

Also, All things Iris will have their catalog out in april. They don't do Bearded Iris, but they do about every other kind. Their catalog will have identified PCI and have them in fairly large containers.

http://www.allthingsiris.com/

You can write to get on their mailing list. There appears to be no fee for the catalog.

Oro Valley, AZ(Zone 9a)

Break open those piggy banks (big grin) ....... A brand New Iris Garden has just opened. And it is also * NOW opened * for business ~ for 2005.

New Website: http://www.bluejiris.com/

Blue J Iris has over 3,000 iris varieties, especially Space Agers, rebloomers and lots of ruffles...lots of photos, with more coming soon!

~Margie

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Anyone had any experience with them?
