I am loving this thread even though I haven`t read all of it yet. My name is Mary, busybee is my user name. I love all kinds of plants but mostly the ones that flower. So far I don`t have a stopping point and have lots of plants and seed for sharing.

I don't know if you are kidding or not......do we have a quota of edits. I bet you are just kidding but I had to ask.

Frannie, I'm pretty sure there is a limit put on edits. I've seen people mention it, especially when they are doing co-ops where they have to make several changes a day. I've never had a problem, but I've never had to edit that much before in a day either.

One of my favorite aunt's name is Mary Laura, kooger. Decades ago she became Marlar for short. What a shame for such a pretty name.

Theresa, that is not a very pretty shortcut - have to agree with ya. My Mary is after my mother's spinster great-aunt Marie and the Laura is after dad's spinster great-aunt Laura. Don't know what they had planned for me, but I've been married nigh on 28 years next month. :)

Bagpypr- My name is Garth (which incidentally means "from the garden") and I have been a botanist for about 25 years. I collect orchids, cycads, salvia, wildflower seeds, and brugsmansia. I also study the development of randomly amplified polymorphic DNA markers characteristic of several plants derived from somantic hybrids. And yes, I'm a kilt-wearing, haggis-eating, bagpipe playing son of the Scottish Highlands ( clann na gaedhealtachd for those of you who are NOT gaelic-impaired). For my addiction, twelve steps ain't enough. I also must apologize for my use of British words and botanical Latin (I don't do well with common names). I also speak both Scottish and Irish Gaelic and a little Cymri (Welsh). Slan leat.

You sound like a very interesting fella, Garth. Makes me remember with pride, my British ancestry which is a little Irish, Welsh, and Scottish. Although, having been born in Canada, along with my parents, any British blood is pretty diluted. I get the Scottish/Welsh from my Dad's side and the Irish from my Mom's side of the family. But it was my Grandparents that would have been from Britain. Anyway, nice to meet you. :D

I go by cbrandenburg, my name is Cathy. I sure hope that I can share my brugs next year with all the new people joining and wanting brugs. I didn't want to trade or share my cuttings because last year I received a cutting that had the dredded SB. But since early spring when I tossed anything that didn't look right, the rest seem to be fine. But I'll wait until this winter is over and see what spring brings. I have my plants in a room in my basement and I had to stack them on top of each other in order to keep them all. They have lost all there leaves but are still putting out blooms. I love the smell of the brugs when there outside but have discoverd that they give me headaches in the evenings when there smell fills the house. All the seed pods that were on my plants are starting to ripen, I know who the mama is but not the pa pa. The bees did all the work for me. This is a wonderful thread, but man did it take long to load, I wonder if Daves is running slow tonight. Cathy

I am a little late, as usual. My name is Melanie, but, my friends and family call me Mel. I live in Tennesse, which =Meltn. I have had the Brug monkey on my back for around 10 years as one can tell when they walk in my garage in the winter and find half of it filled with dormant trees and plants. I also collect Hoyas, Orchids, phillos and other aroids, gingers ........... That said, if the plant is exotic, fragrant or not hardy in Tennessee, I have to have it!
I am zonally impaired and tend to plant push the zone limit in order to have a tropical garden each summer.
