Brenda aka langbr need a new best friend part 2

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

Emma weighs in at about 125 pounds. She is a character. Very opinionated.

We have a storm coming in... so I may not be online much longer. Darn, I have so many threads yet to check!!! Well, tell everyone hi for me and I will be on when this passes. We get some really nasty lightening sometimes and I have to unplug everything or lose it. Been there, done that... lost my whole puter once... I don't take chances anymore. LOL... live and learn..

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Starr, do you have your computer hooked up through a surge protector?

WOW!! 125 pounds! She doesn't look that big in that pic!

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL... She is bigger than she apppears there... :)

Yes, I do have a surge protector, but nothing can save your computer from lightening. I learned that the hard way. If the storm gets too close, then I will unplug. I have lost 2 computers, a satellite receiver, 4 portable phones, and a printer at various different times to lightening. So if it gets close... I shut it all down and go read gardening books... lol...

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Wow, I didn't know that. Good idea to shut things down then! Sorry you had to learn the hard way. :-(

Banning, CA(Zone 9b)

awww.. i am really sorry to hear of all ur losses... i hate when u lose an animal.. its very sad, when we lose such a close friend..my preferance of dogs are German Shep. dogs.. love them!!! i have three. two of which are 12 this year... my beloved chee-chee... i have had him since i was 18 and that dog has gone everywhere with me.. i had a convertible cabriolet when i was 18 and he would sit in the front seat with his head above the roof line (when the top was down) and howl at marihah carey's music when she would hit that hi pitch... i would get him micky dee's cheese burgers when we would go to mc donalds..he was always by my side.. , now he is alot older and has the grey beard comming in , he doesnt run like he used to.. but he is still my baby... cant wait to be able to let him in the house again.. poor thing lives in the dog pen (a huge dog pen) with a big dog house , outside.. poor thing.. and then there is claymore... he was my sisters dog but has never been right in the head,... he is fine with me and my hubby but u cant trust him around anyone else.. its like his brain shorts out and he goes kinda nuts.. as he is goin nuts i can yell at him and he will stop but still u cant trust him.. the only good thing about that is he may act like he likes my hubbys employees , and they think if they befriend him he will let them on our property.. but thats not so.. he could act like he likes u one day and if we arent here he would rip their throught out the next... and let me tell u with some of the employees we have had... this is a very good thing.. , and then there is bear.. ahhh whwat to say about bear... well he is something else.. other then stealing my garden glove or my beer... he is awesome.. in this pic here, he is 7 or 8 months old.. i dont have any recent pics of him as of yet.. maybe this winter.. this is one of my many sisters , jill , with him.. she looves bear... i think she sometimes trys to steal him from me..he loooves his ears scratched..... i cant wait to bring him in the house too.. but only him and cheech.. they will be my alarm system for in the house.. (:

Banning, CA(Zone 9b)

lol moby , ahh so u can tell he is being tortured then huh.. trying soooo hard to get away from the ear rubs...(: he is such a ham! (:

trunnels, yes bear is a cuttie.. although bigger now.. and still not done growing. he was such a bratt as a baby that his petagree is 'Big Bratty Bear" i know not very fancy, but he is my big bratty ranch dog! (: who really like beer.. ..hmmm strange....anyway yes his coat is rather shiney even for him living outside where all we have is dirt.. its real soft too.. i am sure he will lose that by the time he is 3... maybe not , but i am betting he will.. he is a good dog despite all his naughtiness...(:

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

the look on his face says don't stop, don't stop.... lol... he is just a youth, they lose alot of that "naughtiness" as they get older...

Banning, CA(Zone 9b)

well everyone can u believe it we had SNOW!!!!!!! it was 70 in the day and started to rain at night, then in the morning it snowed for about an hour, much didnt stick... prob because of the all the rain that happened before it snowed... and wow, i think i like being out in the snow much better then the rain... hope my cannas will be alright... they still look fine.. we had frost on the car windows and ontop of where there were mud puddles...hope those and my passion vines will be fine?! we have real short "COLD" winters... and i am sure not very cold to most of u.. our coldest is usually 28 to 30 degrees at night and about 40 to 45 during the day...and we only get maybe a week of that around dec. then in jan. it gets a little warmer then by feb its alot warmer....and by march it full force spring...i am guessing we are gonna have a wet winter... maybe another day or two of snow?! that would be cool if it snowed on christmas.... anyway gotta get ready for the dentist this morning..ugh! ttygs!

OK i can not do it go to daylily page 18 or 19 click on there you have to go go down to aug.6th where i post {tazzy ] and the story starts unfolding there about jail and Big Bertha

Pleasant Grove, UT(Zone 6a)

So glad you're out of jail, tazzy. Lucky you you weren't in there for long, but then like you said you're not Martha!

I've been doing so much cleaning the last few days and what the heck for?? All I need is a cleared away spot on my bed to sleep on!

Actually, I am enjoying the cleaning I'm doing this time because I'm not just cleaning all the junk I have around my house, I'm THROWING IT ALL AWAY!!! Whoo hoo, doing the happy dance!

Norwood, MO(Zone 6a)

claire, congratulations! I need to do that, too, but I always end up just moving the junk to another spot.. "just in case" I need it one day... LOL... it just doesn't end...

Pleasant Grove, UT(Zone 6a)

Maybe you need a cure for the "just-in-case-I-might-need-it-later-itis"? Two weeks ago I babysat for a friend of mine while she went to Salt Lake to pick up her trucker hubby from the truck depot. While I was at her house I thought I'd help her out a bit by doing a little cleaning. (Mind you, my house is never really clean, but her house is always one step away from a visit from Social Services.)

Anyway, after spending 2 HOURS cleaning ONE CORNER of her kitchen I realized that her biggest obstacle in her messy house was that she had a TON OF JUNK or MULTIPLES OF THINGS TAKING UP STORAGE SPACE for things she really did need!

Of the dishes I washed and put away in one of her overflowing drawers that simply would not close:
8 soup ladles (1 with broken handle)
4 wire whisks
2 egg beaters (1 broken)
3 potato mashers

Her pots and appliances cabinet was the same:
2 hot air pop corn poppers
1 fancy on-the-stove-type popcorn popper
1 blender (container broken)
2 food grinders
1 food processor (container broken) etc...

Anyway, I think my pack rat tendencies were cured that day! LOL Everytime I pick up something in my house there's a little voice in my head chanting, "Chuck it! Chuck it! Chuck it!" Now, I just need to make sure I'm not listening to that little voice when the bills come, or I'll be in trouble!

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Can I borrow that voice...?

Pleasant Grove, UT(Zone 6a)

I'll record it for you. :)

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Hear it that often?? ;)

Pleasant Grove, UT(Zone 6a)

Constantly. I tell you, I was *cured* after that last visit to my friend's house! Or, maybe it drove me insane? LOL My current cleaning mode will ultimately turn my home into four bare walls . . . then all I'll need is some padding and a straight jacket.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

LOL
