notmartha...what is the little blue flower under the dwarf white? The color combination is perfect! Great pictures, looks like you got alot of rain!

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

its bronze ajuga-rain rain and then more rain!!!

heres the puddle-well part of it-it now goes the length of the yard and was running across the driveway!!

NotMartha, does that puddle happen every rainy season?
If so have you thought of digging the area out a bit and putting in a "dry creek bed"?....during the non-rainy times it would be a lovely collection of rocks, and plants....and when it's raining it would turn into a temporary pond.
This worked beautifullt for some friends of ours....very pretty at all times of the year now.

Don't ya just hate it when complete strangers try and tell you how to landscape YOUR yard???? :-)

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Great thread, I've had the same ever enlarging group of iris for years: a marvelous purple, an old fashioned purple and yellow combo, a truly yellow yellow, a glorious huge white one I got in a trade and this no-name blue that some bee helped along. I think. lol.

I've plenty of white and yellow ones to trade when splitting time comes around. And it's high time I split some of them.

Dori,

Don't tell me that are "FAKE" pink flamingo's in your pond???????????

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

Bert thats my BD presents from my MIL -their antiques! I didnt even know what to say!! ;)

I had dayme and kegan stick them out there when their feet just happened to be MUD up past their ankles!!

One year we put a duck decoy in there and had a pair of mallards lant there! LOL

In the winter we have used the pond for skating

Yes i have suggested several times that we make a REAL pond there!

May a newbie join in? I find it quite daunting to try to identify the iris in my yard, but wanted to post this 3' tall beauty I photographed yesterday (I only have the one small grouping of it). Does anyone know what it might be?

Thank you for sharing your thread, Melissa! :)

Wanda, you have me curious about all 4 of the iris groups I have, as some may be very old since they were transplanted from my fiance's boyhood home. I'll let ya know what I find out!
