stellapathic,
Beautiful shot!!

We saw some nice ones on the hillside up near Malibu.
That do make a statement.

Not to change the subject but any shots of those Aloe? in the background?
They look REAL happy.

Hey, henryr10, you must not have been checking in around Nov or so. I did so many shots of the aloe I think folks may be tired of them by now. But I'll dig up a couple of good ones. I happen to know they've been growing on this cliff for 50+ years. There's a little oil painting in the hospital where I work that shows them as wee babes. It was painted in 1953. Here ya go - -

We're usually out in that area around Christmas.
Anything still blooming at that time?

WOW, how beautiful Stellapathis!

Thanks,fro sharing them.

Anyone have clues as to their ID? I just ofund a wonderful place to order unusual aloes.

Stella, why not add them here: http://plantsdatabase.com/go/54506/
That must be Catalina across the sea.

Cambria, CA(Zone 10a)

OK, Ulrich, done. I put some in the DB. And yes, that's Catalina out there. Usually only visible during the 'clean air' months of winter - but it's actually visible today, beneath those clouds.

Ric, yes these are still blooming at Christmas. Come on out. There's a really nice weekly rental downstairs from me. Much better than any hotel. Here's the house.

Stella,
Thanks for the offer!
Looks like a great place!
We stay up in Tijunga at my B/in/L's house.

We do though take many 2 and 3 day trips up and down the coast while we're there.
I'll be sure to ask you for directions to places like those in your LOVELY shots.

Ric
