Morning Glories 2022 #02

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hope you are feeling better soon Helena.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena, I don't really celebrate, just another work day here.
I can't take my plants out of the g house until May.. Our latest freeze date is April 15th but I've seen one later
Ochracea with one more bloom, I got about 15 seeds off of her

Peaches and Cream's blooms finally turned peach.

Love the colors of your blooms.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda. I hate it that I didn't repot ochracea sooner, she would have been
better able to fight off the bugs. I'll try to get it done when the weather warms.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

A new Brug open. It looked mostly white yesterday, now it's a pretty pink

Beautiful color. I live watching them change color.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda. It is fun to watch them change color. It was open all the way last night but I don't get good pics ay night.. I had buds on the pretty double pink but they dropped. I guess it got too dry

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

They are very delicate. They will drop buds if it's too wet, or too dry.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Pretty sure mine got too dry. Mine are thugs i wouldn't call them delicate. It was right before i went to the hospital and I didn't feel so well. Hope I can get the double brug to set more buds.

Gautier, MS

Love your ochracea bloom Jackie. The pink anget trumpet is so pretty too. I visited a nursery yesterday and saw pretty angel trumpet blooms too but resisted them.
My surprise this morning is that I left these mg seeds and had forgotten them but look at the will to live, the sprouted in wet paper towels ready for pots. A little leggy but still a chance to grow

Thanks Helena.
Your seedlings look fine, glad you remembered them. Leggy doesn't hurt when you're talking about a vine, just wrap the excess around and around ( in one spot) your climbing stick when you plant them. I have to do it all the time, lol

Looks like you will be getting lots of blooms this year Helena.
Jackie, you will get more blooms soon.
What do you fertilizer the brugs with?

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

I forget to feed most of the time. Recently I did remember to give the dbl pink and a few other plants a dose of Super Boost. I would rather just use 15-30-15 when I can find it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the information. I will look for the 15-30-15

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Linda, I like it cause its not as strong as the super bloom/super boost but the high middle number makes it a bloom setting fertilizer

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thank you

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I have been watching the weather reports. Praying you ladies are safe from the tornados and storms.

Gautier, MS

I have a mg bloom this morning. Still have too much to do here. We had some good rain too.

Thanks Linda. I've missed most of the reports about the storms, hope they don't come my way. A dangerous time of yr for the tornadoes and storms.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad you got some rain Helena.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Missed your post Helena, a gorgeous bloom.. I love that mg vine.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie. Wish I could get everything done. Glad we have longer days.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yes glad to see the days getting longer. I still haven't started any mg's.
Seems like something happens every day to change my plans.
Today one of my oldest caps broke off and fell out,. smh

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear that Jackie.
Hope it's an easy fix.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Linda, pretty sure I will have to get a new one, this old one can't be salvaged.
Good thing I have dental insurance to help with the cost..

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

We're gearing up for another round of possible tornadoes here, One came as
close as 5 miles from us Monday night. Today is supposed to be even more active..
Hope everyone stays safe.
My pink Brug with a wide open bloom the other day
I started 8 mg's Sunday, trying to start another 8 today. It takes 8-10 weeks b4 I get blooms

Hope you got your dental appointment Jackie. Beautiful ping brug. Glad to hear you started some mg seeds. Hope the weather doesn't get bad for you.
I've been getting my plants out of my gh. Still have some left in there. Yesterday I almost missed this bloom. Also released a swallowtail butterfly, today found a Easter cactus in blooms.

Absolutely beautiful white mg with pink Helena.
That butterfly is my favorite with the blue on his/her wings.
Gorgeous Easter cactus

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad the tornado missed you Jackie.
Beautiful blooms and butterfly ladies.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Linda, we lucked out. Wed. could have been worse for tornadoes but it didn't happen, thank goodness,
I did get 8 more mg;s planted. The 1st eight I started were older seeds and may not germinate

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad the storms didn't happen.

Good luck with your seeds.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Linda
I hope to plant more mgs today or tomorrow

Gautier, MS

Glad the storms missed you Jackie.
Also good to hear you are planting more seeds.
I also have to get the mgs from cups into bigger pots. Yesterday one of the vines had this bloom.
If that pic is blurry I only took one, I think.

Beautiful blooms Helena. Love the purple color in it.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Glad your new vines are starting to bloom Helena
I love the shibori.
5 of my first 8 seeds I planted have germinated, they were all from 2015

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That's pretty good odds Jackie. Hope you get blooms soon.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

I wish Linda but it will be over 2 months before I see any blooms,.
That's why it was so important to get an early start. At least I will have something to. look forward to. : -)

Gautier, MS

Thanks ladies. It's been a long wait for me too.
Finally a slow start, two more blooms this morning.
