Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks ladies.
Very pretty mg blooms Helena. I love your passion flowers
Oops, that was not my star fruit, don;t know how I picked up the wrong photo to send. That's my Mandevilla with the pink throat, if it ever blooms.
Here's my star fruit shrub, the 1st one inside the g house after I carried it in out of the rain and the 2nd one is it sitting with other plants outside now. I would love to see it set fruit.

Your plants look good and healthy. Hope it sets fruit for you.
My mg leaves look pitiful. But I did get somewhat o blooms on these 2 vines. I do like the bloom on milky way vines. J
Jackie, the passion vines are growing nicely and reaching the top of the arbor exactly what I wanted them to do.

Helena, those are so pretty. I love the different patterns they have.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Beautiful blooms Helena, I wish I could grow the passion flower vines but the only one
I can grow is Maypop since its hardy and needs nothing from me. Thank goodness. :-)
Ants all over my Plumeria bloom today., They were not on it yesterday.

Thumbnail by patootie Thumbnail by patootie
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry you have ants. Will they eat it, or just after the nectar?

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Linda, they won't eat it. They do carry the pests around that do consume the nectar.
When I went out yesterday afternoon, the ants were no where to be seen. but I could tell by the top of the potting mix that they were down in the dirt.. They turn the
potting mix into a fine, powdery texture. That's always my 1st clue even if I don;t see the ants. When I water, they'll come flying out

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda and Jackie.
Beautiful plumeria blooms Jackie. Sorry you have ants in the pot. The only way I can get rid of the ants when they invade my plants iss by placing the pot in a bucket of water soaking it for couple of hours. But then you know they are going to look for another pot to invade.
Couldn't take pictures this morning. We got some rain that we needed bad so I can't complain. These are pic of blooms from yesterday.

Looks like repeat pics, sorry.

We don;t mind the repeats Helena. Your blooms from yesterday were so pretty.
I usually end up spraying the pot full of water with my hose and the ants run out.
But they return as soon as the potting mix dries out some.
Lots of rain coming this way esp if that tropical storm keeps heading in our direction.
I tried to send old pics but Dg froze up on me.

Gautier, MS

Looks like things are going back to normal.
My pictures from yesterday and today. We had good rain here Jackie. Sun is out now and the grass is growing good. The work never stops.

I went to a small nursery yesterday in the next town to us and found a Abutilon (fiery, red tiger) that I wanted after I lost mine 2 years ago after I planted it in the ground. This time I'm keeping this one in a pot. Years ago I grew quite a few of different ones.
My mgs this morning.

as I took the picture.

Love your pretty cactus bloom Jackie, very neat.
It's been raining here off and on b/c of the tropical storm, what bloomed this morning got drenched. Some of the seeds I started of the mgs are coming up. I'm going to grow them inside until get going good and I figure how to keep the bugs off of them.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'm bringing some plants back in the g house. We could get 3 inches of
rain tomorrow. I;m going out now to lay some of the taller plants on their side'so
they don;t get so much rain. What a crazy yr this has been so far..

Gautier, MS

I know Jackie. We got way too much rain. The sun did come out for a bit late this afternoon. I'm glad it's over I think. Now tomorrow will have to do some cleaning up of branches and leaves.
Hope it's over for you too Jackie.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Helena, our rain finally stopped about 4 or 430.. I see dead wood all over the yard.
Hope we see the sun tomorrow..

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

My Plumeria has 3 blooms open today.
Here is my Phantom Begonia. she is part rhizomatous and
part angel wing
LYK mg from last yr
I don;t know where the 2 extra pics came from, I only selected 3

Beautiful mg's and Clitoria vine.Helena. I hope I get blooms on my
Clitoria too this yr.

I;m waiting for it to dry out some b4 I pick up the dead wood. Our rain is over and its cooler here today with a cool wind blowing,.We best enjoy it, it won;t last long b4
the hotter temps return.
One of my outside tubs. I had about 7 named mg's planted and then I think I took an old pkt of something I thought would not germinate and dumped it in. Now look what a mess, I've moved some of them over to the smaller tub right next to it.
These came up very small, can't imagine what kind of mg sds I dumped. Guess we will see.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful blooms Helena. Love those blues.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie and Linda.
Then I should use tine bit of the systemic, I haven't done it yet.
We had cool mornings here too, wish it would stay like this.
Your mgs look good Jackie. you can still separate them by putting bamboo sticks for them to climb either inside pot or outside of the pot.
Todays blooms, my great grand daughters first sunflower bloom. My wild indigo mg had lots of blooms this morning too.

Helena, I;ve got to take a bunch of them out, they will get so tangled if I don;t.
Even with 6 or 7 glory;s in there I can;t keep them separated.
Your indica is lovely.as is my favorite, the blue/purple on the end
Pretty sunflower for your g granddaughter .

I worked outside this morning and I ache now, resting though.
Indica must love this change in the weather giving me lots of blooms.
The others are slowing down a bit.
Jackie, my wild little mgs are coming up all over too. It's going to be a mess if I let them climb with my roses section of garden.

I have a couple of podranea seeds up, still small though.
I have to pot up my largest mg seedlings that are still in the small foam cups.
I may have to work inside out of this heat.
No mg blooms yet. My 1st one will open in a couple of weeks.
