Morning Glories 2019 #04

Gautier, MS

Beautiful blooms Jackie. Your Arum looks like a neat plant with a neat bloom.
I love your calliandra Jackie. It's a shame it won't make seeds. But you should take a couple of cuttings and start a few plants propagating by cuttings. I'm starting a few of my roses and one I got a cutting of a wild looking one from st. I haven't hada calliandra growing in a long time.
Bought a new plant today Tecoma with small orangy blooms. I had one years ago but made the mistake of planting it inground and it didn't make it till spring.

Thanks Helena. I do need to try a few cuttings of the Calliandra. I was so sure it would make sds. The plant I owned many yrs ago did make hard shelled sds.
Pretty Tecoma stans, I lost mine several yrs ago.
Lovely Columbines Linda, esp the blue one on the end

Helena, I forgot to tell you the Arum will die down in the heat of summer, coming back again in late fall. It doesn't like heat at all.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda and Jackie.
Amost Eden nursery in LA has calliandra and hummingbird plants, I'm being tempted to get a few, mail order.
Pretty columbine blooms Linda. Wish I still had my native one.
My purpurea has 2 blooms this morning. I saw the buds yesterday evening so was looking forward to see the blooms. Bought another pink drift rose and lemon lily blooming nicely.

Beautiful purps this morning Helena. I love the Rose and lemon Lily too.
I've never heard of a drift rose, is it fragrant??

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie. In a couple more days I'll have a ip. nil bloom. Yes, it has a nice scent Jackie. I've been lucky with all the roses I bought this year, choosing ones with fragrance.

Very pretty Helena.. Hoping I can plant some purps soon if the
rain ever stops.. Right now it would just wash my sds away.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Those are very pretty.

Gautier, MS

Thanks ladies.

We had gray sky and clouds all day and just a few sprinkles but I think we will get a bit of rain. I had to water my plants yesterday.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

We lucked out today and escaped the rain. Probably won't be so lucky tomorrow and the weekend.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

We got a little rain with a cold front last night. Temps dropped from 94 to 73 in a matter of minutes. It felt good.

Gautier, MS

Glad you didn't get the rain Jackie.
Glad too you had a drop in temp Linda. Yeah 94 is pretty hot this early in spring.
We got good rain yesterday and they say more for this weekend too.
Had some 8 pretty purp blooms today and couple indicas.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda and Jackie. Those choco silk are all from old seeds from 2012 when I grew them.
Wish I had better pic of this purple star from Azuremores seeds. I had to help open that first bloom. Hope next ones I won't have to do that.Had to buy Neem Oil, I think bugs are doing a number on the mg leaves.
