I have been a guinea pig for thunderstorms today across Ohio. Thunderhead #1 tried to blow everyone off the road. #2 tried to drown us and flood us off the road. #3 tried to electrocute us - no time to duck tween light and thunder. Then when the evening sun peeked out it gave us a sunbow around the sun. Average temp was 77°

We got sandwiched between the east and west coast sea breeze rains last evening, but it was a nice mild rain and cooled us down to 77° Can't complain about that. Same story for today 94° then rain.

Hilo Laotian squash. It's already grown another 2 feet in all directions in just a couple days. Already have shield bugs and I think squash bugs showing up though. Breaking out the sprayer tomorrow.
It was nice yesterday since it was raining all day, at least it was cooler. Looks like today back to normal, high 91° and a chance of showers later on.
It doesn't take the bugs long to find the vegetables.
I've never had a problem with Lubbers grasshoppers until this year, they can do in a whole plant in a night.
It got up to 100F yesterday. Today they are calling for a high of 97F,which means it will be 100F at the house. It was already 75F at 7:30AM. There are still some traces of humidity in the air.

This little stinker keeps getting into my potting mix bag. I had hoped he was gone though today I was smart enough to dump the soil by the bag instead of sticking my hand there again. Not sure what he is though.
Earth snake or garter. Our rough earth snakes are tiny and fast- barely bigger than the earthworms they eat, tho we do have some pretty big nightcrawlers. Hes a good snake
