I just read a very old book Land Remembered. Historical fiction about the settling ofFlorida ( started in mid 1800's.... Cattle drives etc thru Everglades ...from your comments Georgia's bugs sounds like Florida's wild swamp!

Florida Keys has bugs that glow in the dark, four inch long palmetto bugs, no-see-ums, and all over Florida is the all so common May and October Love bugs that have no other purpose but to mate and make a mess out of the front of your vehicle. Of course mosquitoes are our state bird. ☺

It is no surprise that Florida has three cities in the top ten buggiest cities in the US.

That would make me long for something other than Pink Skin ,,, Like remembering Flamingo birds .. and Pelicans maybe ?
I forgot about toads being casualties , had to move several this past week ,,,They tend to get in the way of planting , mowing ,, several other things ,,
