Quote from midwestfarmwife :
Heidi,

Are you still looking for these?

Kiwano Melon
Sikkim Cucumber x1
Clemson Spineless Okra
Spaghetti Squash

I should have more than 1 trade of Kiwano Melon, Clemson Spineless Okra, and Spaghetti Squash.

Just bought a Pink Balloon Flower and waiting for seeds to dry. Carolinaflowers & WWKathy - still want some? Cville Gardener, think I have Table Queen or Table King Winter Squash. Cris316, have Love-in-a-Mist and Peppermint for you, also should have Teddy Bear Sunflower.

The Kiwano Melon...I'll try them. I tried them this year and they died thanks to my cukes taking over their spot (supposedly bush cukes ended up being vining terrors!) I'll try the Sikkim Cukes, as well. Thanks!

Griffin, GA(Zone 8a)

Is anyone in need of Dixie Speckled Butterpeas (red and black), Varigated Cat Grass, or Texas Black Eyed Peas (slightly larger than the average black eyed pea)? I have large bags that I am dividing up today, and will gladly reserve them for anyone who wants them.

Outlaw,
You'll need to go back and read the instructions. No seed older than 2011. You may want to re-inventory your seeds and see what you have available after that.

Mike

St. Annaparochie, Netherlands

Hello Absinthe27, Chris316, Carolinaflower8 ans Toy747,
I will put some extra packages of the seeds you ask for in my envelope and label them with your names.

Totally fine. Last time, there were a few that didn't arrive until the deadline, so it isn't a problem.

Thanks for hopping in! I actually have quite a few of your wishlist items, so you should have no problem rebuilding your seed stash :)

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

I totally lost track of this. Let me see what, if anything, I can do by the 15th.

Griffin, GA(Zone 8a)

Sure thing, just let me know.

Albany, NY(Zone 5a)

Hahaha :) ok, sorry for the confusion guys!
Yes I threw away everything older than 2011
Turns out all I have after is peas and beans. If its ok with legallyheidi I will throw in the extras besides my 5 for those who wanted them. If I have extra bags. :)
I will put your name on the phlox Carolina. I will see if I have any seeds that are larger than 20 per bag maybe I can make a few extras that way, but I tried to be generous. :) ok so I am re sorting now and I will be checking out any clearance seeds I can find!!! :)

Griffin, GA(Zone 8a)

Yup, bonus seeds are totally fine. Just mark them as bonus seeds.

Port Norris, NJ(Zone 7b)

Outlaw,
If you kept the seeds in your Freezer the older ones may
still be viable - just not tradable.
In 2009 I was visiting a nearby gardener. She gave me some
frozen '02 Holly Hock seed & I didn't think they'd grow but they
sure did !! You'll notice that only 50% grew.
Keep all my seeds in their own mini fridge.

Also, if it's not too much trouble can I request

from flinter:
Aquilegia canadensis
Centaurea cyanus Black boy
Centaurea montana Alba

from midwestfarmerswife:
NuMex Big Jim Chili Pepper
Cherokee purple tomato

absynthe27:
Shirley Poppy ‘Double Mixed’
Tomato 'Brandywine'
Tomato 'Green Zebra'

oh dear... i am trying to downsize... i no longer have acreage... what am i doing??!!! hahah hoarding seeds!

South Florida, FL(Zone 10b)

Flinter,
I am also interested in your Asarina.
Thanks so much!

Albany, NY(Zone 5a)

update!!!

I found more seeds...

legallyHeidi-- I have banana melon seeds from baker creek packed for 2009... I will throw them in for you as a freebie to try out! :) there are quite a few seeds in the pack, you may get a few?

Mike2147-- i found some pink monarda fistulosa seed so i will throw one in for you, and i will try to collect some red tomorrow.

Rogers, MN(Zone 4b)

OutlawHeart81 - I can definitely put your name on those.

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7b)

Kelly, do peony poppies bloom the first year from seed?

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes, I am going to pass this time, Heidi. Hopefully next time. :)

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7b)

Outlaw, I have packs of African mixed daisy. The pic shows oranges/yellows. Would you like a pack for your niece?

Griffin, GA(Zone 8a)

I just received a shoebox full of seed from Sunshinegal on Gardenweb...lot of good stuff!

Albany, NY(Zone 5a)

Amanda, I am not sure. I have always liked them and my brother and I are hellbent on starting some poppies. We love them, but can't get any to start from seed. Right now I am planting Danish flag poppies. We'll see! *fingers crossed*

Carolinaflower8 I would love whatever colors beside white as we already have them. Becky I believe. :)

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7b)

I have always had difficulty with poppies till this year.

Friend from CA advised to direct sow the CA poppy. I did in Jan or Feb and they've been gangbusters.

Last season I sprinkled a small pack of pink peony poppies in a terra cotta pot with chocolate mint. Thought they would look nice together (?!). They didn't germinate last year but did so this spring. From past experience know they don't like transplant so I left them. They grew to a certain size, but the mint was growing faster.

Against my judgment I decided to take those poppies out of there. I was impressed with the long white Tuberous roots ! I disentangled the 5 or 6 that were still alive and transplanted to individual pots. All are growing New leaves and look healthy. I looked them up again and they are supposed to bloom all summer, but no signs of flowers here. Still very pleased with them. Maybe next year.

Kiowa, CO(Zone 5b)

Amanda...the peony poppies are only annual....
Outlaw...I would love some red Monarda....
Seed collected this am:
1.Veronica spicata 'SightSeeing Blue', 28", bloom spring to frost if DH (deadheaded), these are the tallest on the market, great vase life, they can reseed in the garden but not often...Pix 1
2. Stachys macrantha, 15-24", green leaved and purple flowers, never reseeds, start indoors
3. Penstemon strictus 'Rocky Mountain Blue', 30-36", spring bloom only, can reseed in the garden, Pix 4
4. Lavendula angustifolia 'Munstead', all summer if DH, 18" Pix 3, in the back of Veronica which is in front
5. Calliroe invlucrata, 'Wine Cups', ground cover, has never reseeded, probably an indoor start, Pix 2 the darker pink, have seen massive plantings of them and very beautiful, they trail up to 36" wide.
6. Started collecting Limonium latifolium sea lavender, 18-36"^X36">, summer, indoor start, this is perennial statice, let me know if anyone wants and will collect accordingly. Pix 5
7. Viola (Johnny-Jump-Ups), these reseed for me and have a mix of colors

Has anyone ever winter sown Dusty Millers? I'm making a purchase from Swallowtail in a few weeks, and am thinking of trying them. I love them, but in the past few years the local nurseries and stores haven't kept them in stock for long.

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7b)

Never started from seed Heidi, but planted a couple of six packs in 2011 and they have survived/thrived all this time in my zone. They have cute yellow button flowers in summer. Love them.

(Pam) Warren, CT(Zone 5b)

I did them from seed one year... Spindly little things, nothing like the sturdy little seedlings I used to get in 6-packs. Since then I have better lights, that would probably have helped. But they're not great in my zone anyway, not enough heat for long enough, so I never bothered again.
