Seed Purge Fall 2013

Port Norris, NJ(Zone 7b)

Midwest farm wife. I think we're traded before ! I'd like some of
the love-in-the mist seeds you have and can offer you an assortment
of columbines, the liatris alba & some Rudbeckia Cherry Brandy.

Carolinaflower8 I can offer Ballonflower, coreopsis and phlox. I've
heard Torenia seeds are sterile thus you would need cuttings.

Jamestown, OH

Hi Cris,

Would love to have more of your seeds and will gather Love-in-a-Mist for you.

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7b)

Thanks for being willing to put those in. :) I have seen some places sell torenia seeds, so maybe it depends on the plant?

I am also sending in columbine seeds, though I need to see if they are hybrid.

If I send in packs of seeds, how do I know if they are hybrid? Will it say hybrid?

Griffin, GA(Zone 8a)

Hey, if you guys are going to give specific items for one person, either label the packets with their name, or put (if there are multiple packets for the same person) them in a ziploc baggie with the persons name on it. It would he me out a bit.

Carolina flower: It will *usually* say hybrid...but you can always Google the seed name and company (if you have it) just to be sure.

Kiowa, CO(Zone 5b)

midwest...I have Epilobium (fireweed), already collected...so will make you a packet. Might also have some Auilegea caerulea (sp), it's my state flower and have some that bloomed this season (were started from seed so this is 1rst year bloom) also have some others but will have to check for pods, do you mind if they are a mix? I might have some from last season that are short spur blue and short spur pink, let me know if interested, also have McKennas hybs, and they bloom as a mix.... Might also have some A. Chrysantha Denver's Gold which is fragrant...

Will have to post a pix of the Rudbeckia to see if it's what your looking for (C.S.) sorry can't remember.
Would like some of the Iberis (prurple candytuft) thanks! Kathy

Jamestown, OH

WWKathy,

Will mark some purple Candytuft for you and would love your Fireweed and Columbine Mix...have the McKennas but haven't had the chance to plant yet. Denver's Gold sounds really pretty. Would also like to try both of your Iris setosa and Crambe cordifolia.

I have a couple of varieties of Canna seeds (need to check) from a trade that need a good home, Blue Flax, and Snakeroot.

Kiowa, CO(Zone 5b)

Yes on Cimcifuga, will skip the Cannas and the Linum (flax) I have hundreds of plants myself (some still blooming, tho a bit out of season). Thankyou!

Those are really pretty, Kathy.

Port Norris, NJ(Zone 7b)

Checked out the "want list" of those participating so far. Warrior would
you accept seeds instead of plants? If so I have quite a few items
from your list.

Heidi I have columbines, Moss Rose Coleus Lava Rose, Veronica blue
but not the var you specified - ibid with Lima Beans.

Mike - Have honey bee blue hyssop, babys breath (covent garden),
Shasta Daisy Becky, Bee balm & Wild bergamot, also obedient plant &
balloon flower.

C'ville, have allium, Gomphrena Strawberry Fields, Lablab Alba & wild thyme.

Toy747 have Confederate Rose .

Absinthe27 have Baptisa, caster beans & Vervain, think I have the
apricot HH you asked for but will double check.

Let me know if you still want these seeds.

Griffin, GA(Zone 8a)

I would love the Coleus. I have a hard time growing flowers from seed, but I don't have any issue with Coleus. Love 'em!

Heidi,
Moss Roses are a cinch to grow from seed. The thing is not
to lose patience. They truly are a 21 day germination flower. I've
started to winter-sow & tossed a few moss rose in the planters for
next spring. You might want to do the same & just forget they're
there.

My bug-a-boo are Lisianthus. I sooo love them & they soooo will
not grow for me. Tried from seed for 5 years & then bought seedlings
from Burpee, and they're supposed to be a wildflower !

Griffin, GA(Zone 8a)

I'll try that...thanks, Cris!

Bummer about the Lisanthus...they're really pretty, IMO. I found this about them: http://www.wikihow.com/Grow-Lisianthus

South Florida, FL(Zone 10b)

Yes, yes yes on the Confederate Rose. How thoughtful of you to go through everyone's want list!

Kiowa, CO(Zone 5b)

Chris would love some Alcea White Dbl Icicle and Blk Bty. Anchusa capensis, and Celosia argentea var spicata.

I have Scabiosa caucasica in both white and blue, also have S. ochroleuca (pale yellow, 24") which also blooms all summer and reseeds making colonies just as the S. C does. Am thinking my daughter has S.columbaria (8-10").

Pix
1. S. ochrleuca
2,3 and 5. S. caucasica (two color variants on the blue)
4. S. o. think this is a close up of the yellow
Sorry no pix on the one at my daughter's.

WWKathy,

If all of your white and pale yellow Scabiosa isn't spoken for, I would love to try some. I just gathered pods from a hardy Hibiscus, but seem to have lost the tag. It is pink with red veins, just bloomed this year and loaded with flowers. Will try to post a pic for ID.

midwestfarmwife - I have Gaillardia 'Arizona Apricot'. I wasn't going to send any because I thought it was a hybrid, but I can definitely send a pack with your name on it. It was one of my favorite flowers in the garden this year!

Port Norris, NJ(Zone 7b)

Absinthe, I would like the following if no one has claimed them.

Thanks :)

Dwarf Lupine ‘Gallery Mix’
European Columbine ‘Clementine Salmon Rose’
Lupine ‘Morello Cherry’
Astrantia major ‘Abbey Road’

Greensboro, NC(Zone 7b)

Absinthe, could I claim one of each of these? Is there anything of mine you would like (see a few posts back)? Thx. :)

Dwarf lupine 'Gallery Mix'
coreopsis sunfire
Shirley Poppy ‘Double Mixed’
Sidalcea ‘Candy Girl’

Jamestown, OH

Heidi,

Are you still looking for these?

Kiwano Melon
Sikkim Cucumber
Clemson Spineless Okra
Moss rose
Coleus
Spaghetti Squash

I should have more than 1 trade of Kiwano Melon, Clemson Spineless Okra, and Spaghetti Squash.

Port Norris, NJ(Zone 7b)

Biscombe, Is there anything you'd like - don't have the 1 item you
mentioned in your "want list" I mean ONE item???? lol

For anyone who is interested I do have over 200 flower varieties in
my stash - just limited on most. Don't want to post on "have list" unless
I have more than 1 packet to share as I don't purge too often. So please
Ask. I plan on sending my envelope out on Monday.

Jamestown, OH

Heidi,

Kiwano Melon
Sikkim Cucumber x1
Clemson Spineless Okra
Spaghetti Squash

I should have more than 1 trade of Kiwano Melon, Clemson Spineless Okra, and Spaghetti Squash.

Just bought a Pink Balloon Flower and waiting for seeds to dry. Carolinaflowers & WWKathy - still want some? Cville Gardener, think I have Table Queen or Table King Winter Squash. Cris316, have Love-in-a-Mist and Peppermint for you, also should have Teddy Bear Sunflower.

Rogers, MN(Zone 4b)

Cris316 & Carolinaflower8 - I will set those aside for both of you.

Prescott, AZ(Zone 7b)

Cris316 - I'd love some of your purple Joe Pye weed, I have part shade spot behind my butterfly garden just calling for it, LOL.

Orgiva, Granada, Spain

LOL, been away for a while! and my list needs updating! my tomatoes that I'm trading are in this forum byw. The Gaillardia 'Arizona Apricot sounds great and I would like some Scabiosa, I have an almost black Scabiosa and blue and pink already with seeds ready, do the cross easily? The very dark Scabiosa, I have growing away from the other colours so I could send some seeds of that too. I would be happy to get chillies, Lipstick peppers, winter squash and tomatoes I don't have on my list and any drought resistant 'easy' flowers. Even If I don't get anything from the mentioned, I'll be happy to be trading again and like surprises!
PS how do I pay you for postage?
