Fall Swap 2013 at SallyGs on 9/8/13 Food Thread

Here's where to post what you can bring to SallyG's swap on September 8.

I'll keep this post updated with a list of what everyone is bringing, organized by food type. I'm not putting myself down yet because it isn't clear whether I'm even coming.

I love mis-reading things... at first, I coulda sworn that Ss said "I'm being a shrimp salad". ... can't wait 'til my new glasses are ready!

Do we need any paper products? If so, I can help with those.

I will be coming late, because we get out of church at 12. We probably won't get there till 1 or 1:30. So I can't bring drinks or appetizers or anything you guys will be relying on to start things. I see there are already some offers for desserts. Maybe I'll bring this hearty salad called "Layered Cornbread and Turkey Salad". It is SO awesome.

Catmint -- that's never precisely clear! But Sally has an ongoing list of "yeses" here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=9616855 . You can always bring more than you think we'll need and keep the extras in your car -- return them if we don't use them. I can bring some too (assuming I'm coming). I have a bunch of extras of that sort in the basement....

Catbird- we could use my rice cooker to make rice here, if that helps.

I think I have a ton of cups - those 16 ox Solo cups

Anybody with room for a card table, and your own lawn chair, is not a bad idea to bring.

I'll keep an eye on the list and see what I can add... maybe greek pasta salad, if I can get to my oregano this week (have to prune it back before it blooms out if I want a fresh harvest for the swap), or maybe mmeatballs (after all, the recipe came from my BFF's neighbor in IL). Joyanna will want to bring something sweet, maybe cookies, although lately she's been all about cupcakes. Could even be krispie treats, LOL.
