Critters Big and Small Vol. 9

Hah, caught a lovie duvie couple on the act of PDA (public display of affection). lol

If I read right, I think those assassin bug are good, to take care of aphids, in the garden.
I haven't seen any damselfly yet this year. It time for me, to head of to the lake, and see what I can find.

Found this female moth last night.

Found this little one crossing the road. It was currious and stayed in this same position watching me, watching it for a long while.

Now that you've mentioned Margaret. Nan has done an exceptional shot of the hummingbird moth with the monarda flower.

Oh Nanny, that is a great find. I`ve only seen it once, and that was last year.
Thanks Kim, do you think, that the turtles might be coming in to lay it`s eggs. Neat, that you keep seeing some.

I had a big surprise this evening, The Moth in the picture above had laid some eggs, on my window sill, when I had brought it in for a photo shoot, because it was raining out. Well I saved the eggs, and they have all hatched today. Just in time, to show my GDs the tiny caterpillars. They are now in a container with some of their favorite food.

Good pics. everyone. Here is a fly to rival yours. It's almost the size of my little finger. Yike! Belvosia bifasciata or a Tachinid fly (sp?).

Awww, the fly was partially hidden. Let's me try that once again.

Lily_love..some of those tachinids are huge...heres one I found on my Coreopsis a few weeks ago. He was a big fella too..around 2.5 - 3 cm long

Mike, such a sharp picture of the Tachinid fly! Nicely done. Nan, Ooooh, the neighbor isn't goin' to be too happy with the doe. lol

Deer meat taste really good with fresh vegetables. (~;

LOL! Just a bit early....DH saw 3 bucks the other morning with HUGE racks in a herd of about 20 deer. Boy was he excited about that!

I had 3 raccoon kits out in the backyard this morning. Needless to say they helped themselves to the suet!
