A few showers this morning. I had DH collect some pollen off an orange dwarf iris before they started.
60 and very breezy here. I'm not putting much in the ground or barrels yet because we have some 30's coming for a few more nights. Very strange that we saw 14 lady slippers in blooms already on our walk this morning. That's almost a month ahead of time! We usually do our big count the first week in June. Bizarre!!
Victor - sounds like you are going to have fun with your weather station! I get such a kick out of our "Maine Weather Forecaster" at our cabin in the woods. I'm sure Celeste is familiar with them. It's a stick that turns up when the weather is fair and down when it is rainy. As I always say to Hank when he "reads" it, I don't need a stick to let me know it's a nice day or not! LOL
What will you do with the pollen, Lucy? Are you doing some crossing?
Put it in the frig until the other iris I want opens. I have made 3 crosses so far & will do more on a couple of plants when the next flower opens--if it isn't pouring rain or something like that.

The wind makes it so much worse. I've felt in a daze all day.
Not iris pollen, however. doesn't fly through the air very well. My Advair keeps me breathing, but my eyes can still water.

My Allegra works well in general, though it does nothing for eye itch. But when the air is saturated with pollen, I feel it.
