Happy Easter. The first of my "outdoor" Amaryllis: Merangue. I think that our cold winter may have reduced the slug population, since my outside Amaryllis don't have any slug damage at this point: Yah!!!. Last year the buds were full of slug holes by the beginning of April.

bsharf, So would you rather have cold or slugs? Neither is not a choice, sad isn't it? Gorgeous one. Patti

Here's my blooms for today: this was sold as Papilio, but isn't dark purple/green...

and this one lost it's label, not sure what it is, besides pretty....

I think your Papilio is Exotic Star.

yes, it sure does! How in the world do I get the correct ones when I order? They were packaged and labeled as the ones I ordered. I love all the ones I have, even if they aren't the correct ones, but I would expect a lesser company to get them mixed up, but not the companies I ordered from... I'll send pics and a copy of the invoices back to the companies and see what sort of response I get..

Kizmo mine get mixed up anyway, the labels fade, the squirrels dig them up. seems I can't win!! Here is my first Red & White, have no clue as to the name, have had them for years!

I bought Jewel as a Christmas gift for my sister and she was thrilled with it. I so wish I'd gotten one myself as I've never grown it before!

It smells good too, a very light scent.

I finally found my last invoice yesterday..... and discovered why I couldn't remember ordering some of these bulbs - the invoice lists the Elvas (supposedly) and 'Bargain Bag' of amaryllis! OK, I'm good with it now..... LOL

Rene, your blooms are so pretty! I'm wanting a double white one, but am waiting until the next selections come out. I've had enough surprises this year!

Kizmo I bought some white ones at WM lastyear & they were doubles. They haven't bloomed yet but have scapes. They look a lot like the Alfresco, will post when they bloom.

Helios is a pale yellow and should stay that way. It's tiny, one of the Sonatini miniatures. I'll take some more photos later today. I have Orange Rascal in bud too :)

Thaks Rene, will have to watch WM this Fall, the only ones I've seen at our stores are reds and bicolored... Knipofia, sorry it looked green on my monitor... :-( how small are they? I wasn't aware that there were mini's available. Looking forward to more pics!

It's very small, the open flower is 4 inches across. I love it.

And here is Orange Rascal. This one's even smaller, 3 inches across.

Those little guys are cute. This is Splash out in the garden.

Those mini's are really cute, sounds like about the size of a daylily.Thanks for posting, that orange one is pretty!

Passadina look so much like splash.

Pasadena has been around for a lot longer time than Splash. I have been using Pasadena in breeding at least 25 years. So perhaps Splash might be the "also" bulb.

What a pretty red/orange! I don't think I've seen an amaryllis yet that I don't like! Only wish I could plant mine outside too!

Rene, those really look nice all bunched up together in a garden setting! Much nicer than a bunch of pots!! Does anyone use stakes to keep the stalks from falling over?
