Snow, snow, look at the snow!
Do you like it, yes or no?

Do you like it in your face?

Yes, I like it any place!

Albuquerque, NM(Zone 7b)

Do you like it in your pants?

Yes, it makes me sing and dance!

Albuquerque, NM(Zone 7b)

So add a verse already.

yes I like it! Very pretty!
Only cold here and just a spit or two of moisture.. nothing to speak of. first freeze tonight

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Mittenclad methinks its grand
Winter fairys close at hand ^_^

Glenwood Springs, CO(Zone 5b)

Prose is very fine
But to use four letter words is not so kind.

Frozen precipitation is wondorous I must admit
But only from a warm retreat

When one must work out in it tis quite the drag,
So I shall demur from work for a day or so

T'is truly bummer dear bud Pew
That would be brrrsome to be you

Santa Fe, NM

The snow is great but I hate the cold.
It will be warmer next week , I'm told.
I would like a nice rum toddy
But to drink this early would be naughty.
Plus, I have to teach a class
Away on the east side of town, alas.
But tai chi teachers have no rule
So everything I do is cool!
Instead I'll have some hot green tea
With ginger - an island on a sweet, steamy sea!

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

I do enjoy the snow that falls
outside my window, beyond the walls
surrounded by the fuzzy dogs
and husband bringing in more logs.

Helena, MT(Zone 4b)

If my mittens do not ravel
Through the drifts I'm bound to travel
I float on skis with purple wax
Miss Piper Fox trots in my tracks
A golden dog with snow on snout
Joyously she romps about

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

Very fun!

Santa Fe, NM

Good rhymes!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

The flakes no more, thaw to be
Dahlia and COC are out to see
the leafs and seeds all about.
Spread some tyrants and choose the route
for awkward hoses (coiled to spring)
to better wet the shrubby things
when once again the flakes do prance
so dahlia then can sing and dance ^_^

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I like rhymes with fuzzy dogs and Miss Piper Fox too ^_^ Of course we know that Cosmo is very involved with his painting so probably hasn't notice that there is SNOW.

Albuquerque, NM(Zone 7b)

When bound by snow
Its good to know
I can spend my time
WIth friends who can rhyme
And what makes it sunny
Is they can be funny

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

... and find the Great Punkin,
isn't that somethin.

Centennial, CO(Zone 5a)

Though the falling snow is pretty
I don't love it in the city

It complicates an Autumn drive
Delays the time we will arrive

Happiness is keenly felt
When the snow begins to melt

Now the streets are finally clear
My destination is very near

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

Good one!

Albuquerque, NM(Zone 7b)

That is a plus about Albuquerque
Snow disappears rather quickly
Up on the mountain, not far away
Its where you can drive in much less than a day.

Santa Fe, NM

I hope you don't mean in Santa Fe!
I want the snow to stay away!
Just for now,
We are not water proof.
Please hold back while we get our roof!

Helena, MT(Zone 4b)

You need a weather transporter
To keep things in order

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Shingles, shakes or brick
let roybird's new roof be quick!

Centennial, CO(Zone 5a)

Dahlia that sounds like a spell - I hope it works :o)!

It's 2/3 of a Haiku!

Santa Fe, NM

The snow is most melted
The shingles are dumped
Plywood is nailed
The papers' been crumped
They're planning to work
All through the weekend
To finish our roof
And have $$$$$$$$ to spend!

nice little roofers poem!

Helena, MT(Zone 4b)

Roofers woofers, have you any nails?
Yessir, yessir 13 pails.

Santa Fe, NM

Oh, that's So True, Picante! A friend of mine suggested making a tool like a big magnet on a stick for nail gathering. Is there such a device, do you know? And would it work if there was snow?

Remember all that snow and cold we got last week? Today we set a new record high temperature.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Chinooky time here too DJ ^_^

Centennial, CO(Zone 5a)

How about this for your nails, Roybird? http://www.allmagnetics.com/hardware/pickuppal.htm

Santa Fe, NM

Lisabees, that's perfect! I must show this to D.H. The propanel started going on today! It is not a particularly exciting look because I chose white as being closer to the color of the old roof. I tend to get colors going on walls and didn't want the roof to be a major feature. But it looks much more solid and secure to me. Though that may be an illusion. It Is considerably more expensive!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I can't wait to see the finish! You more than me though methinks ^_^
♫ Roofing nails keep falling on my head....

Santa Fe, NM

Like snow, only heavier! I do hope they can finish this weekend.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Might be a time to take many walkabouts.

Santa Fe, NM

It has been! I also bought myself a present today; an extension tube for my "big" camera. It is helpful for close-ups and not as expensive as a macro lens. Extension tubes can be stacked, too. Anyway, it works! And I've been like a kid with a new toy all afternoon. And I can't wait to put it on a telephoto lens with a tripod to see what happens!

Albuquerque, NM(Zone 7b)

Adults have toys too.

Dolores, CO(Zone 5b)

Oh, for sure adults have toys! Roybird, what is an extension tube? I'm glad there is progress in progress on your roof!

Brenda

Santa Fe, NM

It is really an extension ring that makes closer shots possible. It is a poor girl's alternative to a macro lens for the time being. There is a mechanical explanation for how it works which I have forgotten. I took some pictures with it again this morning on the way to class. It is almost 70 degrees here today!
